- Hi guys. This is my first video about my exchange studies in China. I reserved a couple of free days just for looking at the sights and getting used to the time zone before I start university in Shanghai. After checking out Hong Kong (which was much cooler than I thought) I went to Xi'an, where they have the terracotta warriors and other very old structures. The rest you can watch from the video.
Hope you liked the video:) This is my first time in Shanghai and I'll do more videos from here.
HK is China, u shud mention Mainland. btw enjoy hv fun, I m Indonesian.
Arni. You should check some channels from some of the non/State sponsored YT creators like Chopsticks and Trains or Cinthia Lin. Quite unsure of how practical it would be but a collab with anyone of them would be cool.
Over the "border" is called "mainland China", and Hong Kong is still within China.
Border, border, border. Angry? Remeber that you've past the internet border of CN.
China is fantastic. It is not easy to put the bias and negativity that are created by the western media and ideologies aside, but if u try to be open-minded, u will enjoy this unique cultural and historical journey. Wish u best in China.
I try to be as unbiased I possibly can in the videos when I’m here.
@@ArniJ. I am sure you’ll have a great time.
China is indeed a great place for demure and indifferent people who are able to tolerate, if not embrace Xi’s thought. At least, that has been my experience.
@@jaydee6268 Embracing Xi's thought or not, it is irrelevant. But do you really understand what Xi's thoughts? He is just an elected leader that loves his country deeply.
West is so full hypocrisy with their propaganda
Wow! "scan your face for your flight information" is new to me! Pretty amazing!
Have fun and learn a lot in China!
Wow, that face scanning was fast, basically instantaneous. Awesome tech they have over there.
"Scan your face for flight info yo wtf" man that was funny 🤣 Have fun and hope you enjoy your time in Shanghai
Best wish to your time in China! keep the videos coming, great job so far.
For sure. Thanks for the compliments😄
haha, the face-scanning part was hilarious
Nice the history in this city
Hi there! Welcome to Shanghai! I used to teach at East China Normal U and at Jiaotong U. I hope you have a great time wherever you're studying. If you have time, try to travel out to the rural areas in the south and west where a lot of minority people live. It's amazing to see their traditions and culture, plus life there can be like plunging back to the past -- sometimes people plow their field with a water buffalo instead of using technology. I saw you eating at Dicos -- actually, if you ever eat somewhere where everything seems kind of dirty and you're worried about food safety, the two safest choices are Dicos and Hui Muslim noodle restaurants. Dicos are always sanitary. Hui people care a lot about both cleanliness and honesty, so you'll get a great bowl of fresh noodles without having to worry that you'll get sick or that you're being charged too much because you're a stranger.
That’s a good list of advice, thanks!
Welcome to China. Look forward to your future videos.
Awesome! Thank you!
Amazing China ,also your videos
Thank you.
great❤
Welcome to the free world.
keep being political, see if anyone other than those pinkys would care.
If you can open your heart, you will discover the beauty of China. The beauty of China is not only in the bustling cities, but also in the countryside.
maybe you should try more time in China🎉❤
Great😊
not sure how long u would be in China but definitely recommend taking advantage of its convenient train system. The Yangtze Delta region, with its center being Shanghai, has the highest density of high-speed train systems in China. So it would be very easy to travel to other tier 2 & 3 cities nearby Shanghai over the weekends. My favorite are Suzhou, Nanjing, and Hangzhou. Yiwu market is also an interesting place to see if u have time.
I’m going to Suzhou and Hangzhou this weekend. There’s going to be a video about it probably.

Thanks for subscribing😄
Welcome to Shanghai!
Good luck with your educational pursuit in China. Enjoy!
Thanks.

I really like your video's! They are of extremely good quality and entertaining. Stay motivated and I am sure your subscribers and views will increase even more. I have a question for you. I am thinking about studying in Tainan, Taiwan. Since you studied in Taiwan, are you familiar with Tainan as well? Thanks!
Firstly, thanks for your comment. It feels good to hear that you like the videos.
Secondly,
I didn’t spend much time outside Taipei, but I visited Tainan once for a weekend.
For what I could see it was largely the same from a foreigners perspective. Of course people in Taipei claim there is a huge difference between the cities, but the cities have generally the same aesthetic, mabye Tainan having a bit less people. The weather is a bit warmer down there and the food was allegedly sweeter.
Still, it’s a quick train ride pretty much everywhere if you want to visit other cities.
加油哦🎉
Enjoy
I will.
I highly recommend you to go to Chengdu to enjoy pandas, hot pot, and Jiuzhaigou. Welcome to China!
Good advice 🔥😋
Newly subbed. Making my way through your videos of Taiwan. I am curious to see when you’re able to compare and contrast your experiences with the “two Chinas.”
Edited to correct noticed typo.
I’ll for sure make a video comparing my exchange destinations. Thanks for subscribing:)
What major are you taking?
5:39 china is the rome of east asia,if europe is united, it will become a second china.
Ha! I am pretty sure the PRC sees Rome as the “some Chinese city” of the west.
I see you were living in the ROC hope you can do a comparison video of the 2 China's
Indeed but not until after you leave the PRC. I am thinking you’ll have great memories from
both.
China numba 1! 🇨🇳
Hmmm.
فيديوهاتك جميلة جدا ومفيدة 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you.

Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China!! Where does the national border come from?
Comes from the official notation of 出境。 Ever been to HK as CN citizen? What is that place in between called?
Enjoy China!
Thanks
You look so cute❤
Why do you look like Draco Malfoy 😶
LOL the dude is in HK, but he's never been to China!!!
Hong Kong IS China!!!
It's like saying I have been Cardiff but I have never been to UK or I have been Alaska, but I have never been to the U$A!
The correct term would "I have never been to mainland China!"
I get what you are saying and I was a bit unclear in the video. Hong Kong is a special administrative region of China.
However they seem to have their separate immigration policies because my Chinese visa was not checked by immigration until the train trip to Shenzhen. That’s why I talked about ”going to china” while in Hong Kong.
Also, with being able to use Instagram and RUclips in HK I got the impression of still being ”outside china”.
Still, thanks for commenting.
@@ArniJ. it's a bit like Scotland and Wales both are part of UK, both have separate parliament.
Different countries have different ways of government, often tweaked to suit their history and culture. Some have proportional voting some have first past the post, some are more fairer or proportional to the population.
China is probably the most diverse, with autonomous regions as you say, where they they have local customs/laws and practices where federal laws are mostly about military and national security.
This isn't about perfection, it's just different, and should really only matter to local residents i.e. Citizens of China and does not have to conform to western standards what so ever. So far their systems seem to favor the people and not just capitalists.
scan your face😂
As a chinese living at USA, it is cumbersome for me to travel to China. First, I was not able to buy a temp SIM card. Second, my wechat pay account could not be activated, becuase I didnt have a credit card in mainland china. Third, I booked hotel online. They refused to check me in, because my daughter holds USA passport. And they didnt refund me. Fourth, everybody can use digital train ticket. I cannot. Have to wait in a long queue to get the paper ticket. I am still chinese citizen. I have my passport. My china ID is expired. Yes, China is way ahead of the rest of world on digitalization. But regulation is not friendly to traveler at all. I hope it can be improved.
Sounds like a lot of hassle. Still, It feels like things are moving into a smoother direction. I didn’t have much problems with anything else than the sim card and mabye exchanging money. When those things are sorted it’s much easier to do daily tasks.
When was the last time you check your WeChat account? It's so easy to link your credit cards now..Alipay also very easy to link with cc. Buying simcard is very easy..they just need your passport and once inserted, voila..it works..make sure the VPN is already installed on your cell phone.
又在骗人了,中国身份证会过期?自己做了什么事不说!是身份证被人注销了吧,中国不承认双重国籍。您现在回来是做客,请保持点距离。
@@ArniJ.Hong kong is china man
身份证过期了去更新呗?什么你有秘密,哈哈哈
Scam your face for your fly information wt..😂😂😂
First I was surprised about it, but if you think about it, it makes sense. When going to an airport you usually scan your passport, which has your image.
@@ArniJ. for me it is really incredible cuz we don’t have that here in tw🤣
from a small island ?
@@ArniJ. He comes from Taiwan, an island with deep hostility towards China. Don't let his hatred affect your trip.
@ArniJ. Does make sense, they need your information including face anyway so that you can even board a plane, might as well make it useful to you
Arnie, you are related to Tom Felton from Harry Potter?
Why do so many people say that😄
Dude, that makes you some sort of celebrity 😅@@ArniJ.
