It remains one of the most visually impressive and striking pieces of cinema fantasy ever created ... a movie that you want to pause over and over, to linger and take in all the eye candy and creative touches.
Batman Returns aged better than Batman 1989 IMO, probably because it shows as little technology as possible and it doesn't show '80s stuff and music, not making it a product of its time.
Batman Returns is still the best Batman movie ever aside from it's dark story (Tim Burton style) and lavish set, it's Michelle Pfeiffer, Danny DeVito, Michael Keaton, Christopher Walken makes it even better.
I do like the production design. My only quibble with the overall exterior night shots was that one never had the sense that you were actually out in the open air. It always seemed as if it had all taken place inside a film studio of vast proportions...which in reality, of course, it had.
That’s what I liked about it. The claustrophobic indoor contained dream-like Gotham. The whole movie was filmed indoors and it creates a really strong surreal vibe. It makes it clear to the viewer that “this is not taking place in reality.” Batman ‘89 felt a little too real.
Just a tad less beautiful than Batman and robin, but this for me is the second best movie out of 8, from the 1989 original one until this year movie with Robert Pattinson 1) Batman and robin 2) Batman returns 3) Batman forever 4) Batman the dark knight 5) The Batman 2022 6) Batman 1989 7) Batman begins 8) Batman knight rises
And does she still take calls for Max Shreck during the day? Between the time that he killed her and the time she kills him, she supposedly still worked for him during the day.
Batman Returns is not as good as Batman (1989). I believe that Batman Returns is good as a sequel. It is one of the best sequels ever. Batman Returns was too christmasy for me to watch at random like on April or something.

Love the feel and look of gotham in the first 2 movies...
I enjoyed the abandoned Zoo. Great scenario

7:48 Lego Batman: I mostly work with black, and dark grey. And sometimes very dark blue.
The art direction in this movie looks very much like BTAS.

0:47 Holy crap, this guy made the shitty live action cat in the hat
The production designer doesn’t write or direct the movie, he builds the sets that he is paid to build.
