Well done. I was so very close to hiding away from all social media and allowing the sorrow to soak into my bones. Then I realised, we are all here together for a reason. And there is a reason for this season. And I know, those who are true, kind and compassionate, would NEVER abandon anyone in their darkest hour or not stand side-by-side to push back. I am here for it. This was a gorgeous movie in every possible way. Thank you.

Blake needed that to feel free. Being oppressed by a mentally unstable mother wasn't living his authentic self. He is fortunate to have a great friendship with Dom and new beginning out of nowhere. I really loved how authentic this was and how it teaches lessons to others going through similar issues.

The point at which a child becomes an adult, diverging from his mom's beliefs and values.
In this case, it was for the better.
It's a point in time that is pivotal for both parent and child.
It's the end of innocence, a realization of a parent's frailty and weaknesses.

That really hit me in the feels. I am the “black sheep” in my family. My mom doesn’t approve of my “choice to live a gay lifestyle.” When I came out she said, “and you’re doing this now to embarrass the family.” Ugh! She hasn’t gotten any better since and that was over a decade ago. As we know - being gay IS NOT A CHOICE. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🌈 Your film speaks to us all! Thank you. Wow, this is amazing. Well done. I lived this. In my case it was religion that tore our family apart. My mom loved us, just as this woman loved her son, but she was also brainwashed, sure she was doing the right thing, and adamant in her refusal to have us in her life if we weren't in the same religion ( one with crazy ideas) . She hurt us and she hurt herself, too, just like the mom in this film. Sometimes I put it aside and happily get on with the rest of life's experiences. Sometimes I revisit it and get sad.

I’m speechless. This was just so realistic. Such talented actors, both the mom and the young men.
The montage could have easily veered into cheesy, but ended up being a beautiful portrayal of gentleness and stable support of a new friend.
Dom was so sweet to welcome him into the family home without criticizing Blake’s mom. It’s such a gift to let someone you love make their own choices, just being a stabilizing influence, free of pressure or manipulation.
So much authenticity and warmth in their budding friendship / situationship juxtaposed with the devastating destruction of the mother-son bond after the mom becomes yet another victim of right wing extremist conspiracy, and their shameless fraud and deception of the most vulnerable targets they can find.
This was a spot-on depiction of how a once normal person could get in too deep. After sacrificing her family’s source of income by quitting her job, and then sending those people even more of the family’s money… It’s not hard to imagine the mom concluding there’s no way for her to admit she was duped, after financially devastating the family.
Somehow she still believed it better to risk losing the child she loves than to face the reality that she’d been repeatedly victimized by the Qanon cult. Better to let them take everything from her, I guess 😢

What a great movie, with all the maddening, saddening dramas of today in Trumpland U.S.A! Excellent acting by both mother and son and laterally, the new friend. And a remembrance of that insulting unscientific vaccine dialog in the early days of Covid when Trump was so insulting to doctors and scientists, which was then picked up by a certain contingent of the population. I remember small groups gathered near a super market every day, shouting their anti-vaccine theories. And remember, since he never clearly said who his physician was, we never found out which vaccine he was taking. Like his taxes, no one ever finds out about these things, which before ...and including President Biden, had been mandatory and given freely.

I have been on the parameter of the rabbit hole. In 2000 Y2K had people scare about survival and thru Covid and Maga. Maintaining and being aware of the abuse of not being informed. It's work but it is so worth it. Stay safe and positive. The film was on point with all these issues. Will share it with friends to spread
    the message.

    What an absolutely beautiful film!
This film shows the life of a mother and son in a moment in time …yet represents the immense negative impact that Trump’s fascist tactics, fear mongering, and hateful rhetoric have had on the lives of so many.

I spent the last 18 months working with Trump supporters, anti-vaxers, Qanon “members”, trying to educate them with facts, logic and compassion…and I can tell you you nailed it, bullseye. The people who don’t like this short are the people who bought in those conspiracies. You did an amazing, amazing job. Took my breath away. Be extremely proud. It’s a sociopolitical masterpiece, and it will explain so much in decades/centuries to come about why we are where we are. 💙

Watching this from Spain. We here in Europe wonder how it is possible that so many people in the US believe such crazy conspiritorial paranoid things and yet deny the obvious reality around them. It is simultaneously facinating and horrible. And very, very sad. My heart goes out to all the normal people who are having to deal with all this craziness.
By the way, I was vaccinated for the 5th time this morning. I'm fine and so is everyone I know.
Thanks for posting this sensitive little film. Keep making more. You've got a talent.

I personally wanted it to just be about the mother and son, because, there's way more stakes in it for him, their different political beliefs are tearing them apart, they both have a relationship to lose. You can feel it when they say their goodbyes. I just wanted to see where it could go from there, how much worse or better it could get for them, not that it all wasn't great, it was. Thank you.
