Personally, I think Sam and Bucky were the best successors. They each embodied the ideals that Steve inspired in them to the best of their ability. Even though they differ in methods, they both did their best to honor his legacy during their runs with that shield.
completely agree! but let's be honest, there is only one true Captain America. only one who is worthy of both shield and the hammer of the God of thunder. One who does not represent neither country nor government but the ideals of America. the first avenger and a true Sentinel of liberty.
When I first got into comic at the age of 10 John Walker/U.S. Agent was and still is one of my favorite non Steve Rogers Captain American, so when Disney first leaked that John Walker coming to the MCU I was hyped.
The fight between Cap and Super Patriot (John Walker) was one of my favorites of all time. Even though Rogers was physically weaker than Walker, he held his own and pushed himself to the maximum. Walker is in the Spider-Man class of strength, yet Cap did well against him.
Walker is theoretically above what Spider Man's pfficial stats were by 10-25 tons (spidey is usually 10-25 with Walker and most other Power Broker process people at 35, but marvel is never quite consistent there)
U.S. Agent is back! Long live the Red, White, and Black! My favorite replacement has always been John Walker. He was an American bad ass and a more hard-line Captain America. Steve Rogers will always be my true Captain America, and John Walker my one and only U.S.Agent but I wouldn't mind seeing in the comics that John Walker given another round as Captain America. A year long story line would be good and this time doing a great job at it, but he gets pissed to easy and always ready for a fight, so I'm not sure if they would even let him be Cap again. I remember back in 2014 or 2015 I was trying to check on wiki and fandom about U.S. Agent and see if there was anything in print. It was like Marvel had left him dormant for several years. Being one of my favorite characters I am just glad he's back in the spotlight again. There's a current (as of March 2020) comic series with issue #4 to release soon. I do hope they never give him back that silly Judge Dredd costume helmet, it was lame. I wasn't quite the fan of his Force Works costume either lame John Walker's Red, White, and Black costume is what works, so I hope he sticks to it. The only other way I would like to see Walker is maybe a costume similar to his original Super Patriot get-up before he became Captain. The Falcons Captain America costume was actually fashioned after it with the star in a circle in the middle of the chest and the lines on the ribs. Walker's had red in it though. So if my ol American bad ass John Walker gets another round as Captain in the comics, i hope it's not just a Strve Rodgers costume, but instead with an updated version of his Super Patriot get-up or based on it and similarly mixed with the style of Falcons Captain American costume. U.S.Agent is back! Long live Red, White, and Black!
Walker get's misused as many of the (at the time) legacy characters do. He has had some really nice character growth, only to constantly be rewritten as a joke character of a symbol of everything the main super hero shouldn't be. I think one of the only ones of the time to escape the fate was War Machine, but he is often under written as a result.

I love how Steve Rogers even though being Captain America may conflict with his ideals he upholds, he refuses to sway on his beliefs even if it means giving up his beloved shield and costume! I really respect that about him how no matter what he sticks to his beliefs and will not sway in his ideals! I loved the time when he became the USAgent, which I wish the MCU would touch upon in a sort of flashback movie of Captain America! One of my all time favorites was seeing Sam Wilson as the new Captain America is awesome! I don't even care that he is black which is why most people love this version Capt. America, for me it was seeing the character evolve and utilizing a version of the costume mixed between Falcon and Captain America, and him being able to fly and have wings and still using Cap's shield was just awesome for me it brought all new powers and a new dynamic to an old character and brought new life to the character, but there is undoubtably something nostalgic about Steve Rogers and no one can completely fill his shoes perfectly but for me Sam Wilson comes very close! The only other one that would even come close to me would be Bucky, but I love the whole Winter Soldier persona that he has being a Russian sleeper, double agent kinda thing going on!
The four issue "Captain America- Patriot" mini series is a favorite of mine. It gave Jeff Mace a lot of characterization and respect. I wish Marvel had done more with his team, The Liberty Legion. Also, I wish Marvel would bring Jack Monroe back from the dead. I think he deserved better.

l would like to see Marvel do a Captain America Corp.. Just like they have a Captain Britain Corp..
Why didn’t the comic artists even attempt to make the suit look cooler and more futuristic over the years until they got a new artist
Because the suit is perfect he's Captain America
There really IS only one Captain America, Steve Rogers.
I been saying the same...👍
In this episode...we go over the 23,786million people who were Captain America.
OOH YEAH MY PARENTS KANE KEKE AND OUR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS REMEMBER THEM ALL
Steve Rogers
The serum wasn't what kept Cap young, thr cryo did, the serum just let him survive it! He had had it neutralized many times before without aging. The author mixed him up woth Nick Fury
Actually - you forgot that the Red Skull became CA after the Cosmic Cube exchanged their consciousness into each others body.
You skipped the sentinel of liberty issue where Falcon first becomes Captain America after believing Steve died (marvel likes to use groundbreaking ideas that they.... already did before (and often better). I always thought Falcon was a great choice. I have mixed feelings of him retaining his falcon wings when he became Cap again, because it both made him stand out, but also insured everyone would keep thinking "falcon america" instead of captain.
I believe Isaiah was just after steve
You are totally right and I absolutely messed that up here! However, I think Isaiah is worthy of a video of his own so stay tuned!
Oh so bc we didn't see Captain America die just really old he could come back
