@@poppaganja3793 there should be an adjustment dial, or there is a small ring inside the hole where you put the butane. You should see an arched two way arrow with a plus and a minus. Turn it towards the plus

Most modern lighters have a self purging nozzle so I've never really had a problem filling my lighters like shown in this video (good content btw!). The 2 most common problems *I* run into with butane 'jet' lighters not working are:
1. Clogged jet. This happens regardless of the quality butane you use. That's why most good/expensive lighters have a flip up cap. To protect the jets from contaminates. (Which almost ALWAYS come from the outside in -pocket lint, dust, soot, etc., not from 'poor' or 'unfiltered' butane.) Use compressed air or you can just blow real hard into the jets (the small brass, star looking things the flames shoot out from) to clean 'em. ...with the lighter off of course.
2. Planned obsolescence. Most electronic spark lighters use a piezo ignition system. Although the crystals usually last forever it's the cheap plastic housings they're installed into that fail as is planned. I have a BernzOmatic propane push button torch nozzle with the same piezo igniter in it with WELL over 2 thousand ignites. So... when this happens it's a push but no click/spark scenario. To fix this it's really simple but kind of rickety as well. Go to Walmart and buy one of their long-necked BBQ lighters they have at almost all checkouts for ~$1. Remove the piezo igniter and install it into your butane lighter as it was removed. Be sure to trim the electrical wire so there's not a lot of excess in the lighter body (can cause shorts/shocks). It's cheap because you're using another cheaply made igniter to replace your old one. So, expect about the same life out of your repair as the OEM igniter.

I’ve been hearing some after burn type gas escape after using my brand new lighter, after checking RUclips for videos on if that noise was normal , I came across your video and well I tried purging my lighter ! I never knew about letting the air out. I’ve thrown away so many lighters because i never could get them to work after I filled them. I guess I wasn’t even actually filling them but I didn’t know that. I specifically bought a lighter this time that had a clear window so I could see if it was filling and yet again it wouldn’t fill until I watched your video.

If this method doesn't work for you. Take your torche and place it in front of a heater for about 2 mins. Works for me.

I've looked at a ton of these videos you are the 1st person to mention about the butane and the lighter being warm and I am grateful. It's about 6ﾟ right now so I'm hoping that's the problem.

My friend the the mechanic came over, and I asked him what I was doing wrong.
Let's just say hes a bit of a perfectionist that's the nicest way I can describe him. So he followed everything you did, but it still wasn't working.

Sorry the message is too long but drum roll please please it was me not the torch that screwed it up. When I tried to bleed the lighter I bent The stupid Nozzle.
Pretty basic but sometimes your brain doesn't go with basic. So I need to wiggle it around andTry to get the 2 nozzles to meet. Super fun. Maybe 'll just pitch it I'll get a new one.🤪

A few days ago, a friend asked if I had fuel & I remember him doing something to his lighter b4 filling & talking about the air. I told him I just had horrible luck & always bought the one crappy lighter.
So yesterday I bought a new clear one that worked for a while as usual. Quit after filling it.🤬. After too many burping videos*

Maybe. But it may be jet construction, the fuel line, or cheap fuel
I bought 10 Zengaz butane lighters from a convenience store for a $1.00 total because he couldn’t figure out why they didn’t work properly. It wasn’t until after I wasted a can of fuel I decided to watch this video and now I feel like a champ.

So, say you purge, fill, and then when the lighter, torch, whichever, gets lit and it starts to sputter a few seconds in with a huge flame (flame calibrated to minimum output) that lingers after releasing the trigger?
That could be a number of issues sadly. But cheap butane is the culprit most times. Then it could be a clogged jet. Or it could be something to do with the inner workings. Good luck

Hello what kind of butane fuel did you use? With a short or long nasal? Because I’m using (peaks comforts) butane fuel universal gas lighter refill. Ultra refined for maximum care and performance.
And I can refill the (Cobber Torch Lighter,Quad 4 Jet Red Flame Refillble Butane Lighter)
I’m using the long nasal type for refill.
When I press down all the way it sprays out rather then refill and I don’t get what I’m doing wrong. I heard you need to put it all the way down to - then press on the part where you refill to release extra pressure(but mine is new and it has no pressure and still I can refill it… I even tried to replace it thought it was defective but after I got my replacement it still has the same problem…
I use Colibri butane. You can get it in many local shops but if no one near you has it, you can go to Colibri.com . Try purging it before you fill it and see if atmosphere releases when ya do

Is true what you say. The problem I have more than I'd expect is after a year or two the ignition wire from the piezo will get holes in the insulation and the spark goes anywhere but towards the burner. The wire is permanently attached so you can't change it and most of the igniters are custom for the model so no rummaging through the parts bin. Any thoughts on getting the spark to focus and stop wandering?

How do you fix a leak? My new torch has an adjustment wheel where you fill it up at. I could not get it working even after watching this video. I then noticed that if I put a tiny amount of pressure on the wheel, butane leaks out. How can I fix this?
If there is a leak, I would not suggest fixing it. I would suggest replacing it
New eagle torch. Have not needed to fuel it yet. Burns for like 4 seconds then stops. Wait 5 seconds and it will repeat this again and again. Any advice
MrTreewizard purge it and then refill. You may have trapped atmosphere

Okay. I have purged and purged and purged. Made sure to made sure butane was not cold and only thing I am getting is a weak flicker from my eagle torch. Can you please advise?

Hey. i have a question! I bought just a cheap lighter off amazon like yours in this video. Of course it came empty. I absolutely cannot get butane to go into it. It just sputters it all over the place. Help?
Purge it first
So, no doubt this works but not in my case. I bled it twice and filled it twice. I see a spark directly over one of the four jets. *VERY* sporadic. I have a Moretti that I got from Cigars International. I used it once or twice before this started.
Again, the spark appears to be in the right place and both times I waited for the fluid to warm up. I use a Ronsonal Multi-fill. Could it be the fluid?
Try these few things.
1. Depress fuel trigger half way and see if you hear fuel coming out
2. If you hear fuel coming out depress trigger halfway again and try to light it with another lighter. But remember safety first, be careful!
3. Subscribe to my channel and tell all your friends to subscribe too. (It won’t help your lighter issue, but I can always use more subscribers. Lol

So i did this. I go to use it, and still nothing happens. it MIGHT light for a second then stop. I have the Robson butane fuel. Is it my butane brand? Do I need to use a different one? I use a paper clip to purge, air comes out and I did it just like you did in the video. My thumb is getting sore now from trying to keep lighting it. What do you suggest? Also i can hear some thing coming out like air/fuel? when I’m holding down the button to light, but no flame. UGH
Ugh indeed, lol.
So it could be a few things. Your fuel could be suspect, maybe not. If you hear fuel hissing out when you press the button down halfway you don’t have fuel delivery issues. So, I would lean towards spark. If it’s not sparking it could be your not sparking or that the little electrode is not in proper placement. It needs to be near but not touching the jet. This causes an arc, arc in the presence of fuel causes ignition. Those would be the things I would look at. But be careful. Adjusting and messing around with a lighters components could be dangerous. Use self judgement and care. Good luck

Quick question Bob. If my lighter doesn't have a window. How do I know when filling it How much butane to put in.
Great question. Sadly you can’t know. I suggest you purge then fill, the lighter should get cold, put your ear near the lighter to see if you hear a slight hissing sound. That means it’s still filling. Once done purge again, then top it off. Once the lighter warms up it should be good to go.
