I’m so happy to see more and more people keeping their kids out of videos and pictures. But I wouldn’t expect any less from Sh and Grayson, they’re very conscious with their decisions.
Can I ask why people make this decision now ? Totally respect it and don’t need to see their kids, but I’m just curious ! Is it protecting against potential horrible people online or like a,,, consent thing?? for their children in the future ?
@@kat6161 Both! Family channels are seen as unethical by some because of the fact the kids aren’t old enough to consent to fully understanding that they are being broadcast in a permanent way to such a big audience.

Pretty much both. If I was famous I wouldn't want info or pictures/footage of my kids on the internet either. Actual creepy people can and will get ahold of them 🤮
Would you ever consider a “baby names we loved but didn’t use” video? I think that’d be interesting to hear from two people who picked their own names, and who seem like they’ll be raising their children with gender fluidity in mind (I hope this makes sense, I had an awful time wording it)!

Yes I second this! I am a huge name nerd and I'd love to see the thought process behind naming them as people who have chosen their names, considering gender neutral names, etc.
When I first found out they had babies I was like OH OH! I hope one of them is named Cole! (Coal) And then for the life of me I couldn't think of a 4th themed name for them 😔
It’s great to see a parent with their kids best interest at heart. ‘Not going to share anything, our parenting style, their names, assigned sexes, but maybe you’ll see the fact that they exist on Instagram, with their faces unshown’ it’s great to not pivot towards that family channel.
And yes your story about your getting pregnant, conception and everything is about you and Gray, not those two little kiddos!

so many congrats!!! Oh my gosh. Being a nonbinary person and going through pregnancy is something I've really gone back and forth on wanting to do. It is so affirming to see another trans/nonbinary person go through it. I am so happy for you and Grayson and I wish your little family the best!
As an AFAB NB on my second pregnancy, not gonna lie, there can be some difficult moments. The nurses in the post partum ward constantly saying things like "Don't worry Mama" et cet was... difficult. (I chose a parenting term for myself: Onnu, which is actually based on early sounds babies can make, but then decided it could be an acronym for either the more poetic One Nurturer which is aspirationally what I want to be for my kid, or Obsetric Nurturer for a more technical jargon sounding mix when you need to throw it at a boomer fool. My partner who ID's as a Demi-Man, went with Panu for Parent Nurturer or Paternal Nurturer, depending on who he's speaking to)
A big part will depend on what kind of relationship to your body you have. I know some people don't have any disphoria, some people have lots. (I had/have chest-related dysphoria, that got worse during pregnancy but amazingly, thankfully, was actually lessened by following my plan of making them useful for once and nursing my kiddo. Whole reason I've kept 'em.)
@@purpleghost106 thank you for sharing your experience. I have also been worried about being misgendered at medical offices and the hospital if I do it. I would probably get a doula though to help advocate for me. And I already got top surgery so my dysphoria would probably come from any weight gain in my butt/thighs and people seeing me as a woman just because I look pregnant.

I just want to say this to anyone who has twins. DO NOT JUST REFER TO THEM AS THE TWINS (or at least stop once they get older). I am a twin and was only ever referred to as the twins. For me it make me feel like that is the only thing that people care about. It made me feel like I wasn't my own person. I grew up wanting nothing to do with my twin sister (we of course did some stuff together). I would literally get pissed off if my sister even did something as little as order the same food as me, or get angry if she had the same favorite item/show/color/etc. I literally wanted nothing to do with my sister, because people only cared about that we were twins. We were treated as if we were the same person (btw we aren't even identical). I would avoid telling people that I had a twin. So please if any of yall have twins please make sure they feel like that they are their own person. I know for some twins this might have not been a problem, but for me it really was. This also became a problem with my sister aswell, but in a different way. She became dependent on me, she wouldn't do things unless I would do them with her. I would have to go to hang out with her friends, because she wouldn't unless I went.
I will remember this just in case I ever have twins. Sounds like an extreme version of having an older sib and constantly being called X's brother/sister. I'm glad my brother and I were far apart in age and went to different schools!
I actually didn't mind when people referred to by twin and I as 'the twins'.
I'm not even a twin but I feel this pain so much. This could definitely apply to ANY set of two kids who are similar in gender and/or age, I think. My sister and I are 2 years apart and have WILDLY different personalities, but we were often "the girls" to many adults in our lives, and like... it made us feel like we HAD to agree on stuff because of the expectations adults put on us by saying or asking things they clearly considered totally innocuous. "Oh, the girls will want to do xyz"...maybe not both of us! "The girls would love abc!" ...maybe only one of us though. "What do the girls think?" ...idk maybe ask each of us individually? And, as twins often are, we'd be forced to wear similar clothing VERY frequently, too (like the same outfit in two different colors or something), despite our very different tastes.
We had a lot of struggles with figuring out our identities growing up, and maybe this was a minor contributor, but it was definitely a contributor. We're in our 30s now and I feel like we're just now figuring ourselves out.

Decided to check in randomly to see if there was any movement on the channel and well happy news for you both and the kids. My Wife and I just celebrated the 1st birthday of our son. Hard to believe the first year went by so fast.
If I may be so bold. For my wife, breast feeding was an intimate part of becoming a mother and bonding with the young one. As you've had top surgery, how did you cope with this? and in hindsight would you have made the same surgical decisions? Would love to hear your unique perspective and thoughts on the subject.

I've been thinking of you and Gray recently. I'm scheduled to have my top surgery in the next few months and I was reflecting on the people I'd watched when I first realized I was a non-binary trans person.
I want to thank you for being such a great role model and source of inspiration and education for me.
Good luck with your babies. I helped to raise my stepmum's twins when I was young. It's a lot of work to be sure.
