He had been very nonchalant about his clock, while taking time to eat and drink. He'll be more careful next time, I'm sure.
But the guy who won the game probably should have resigned, as many players do when they've been so overwhelmed on the board as he certainly was.

30 years ago, in 1993, at the Chess Shop on Thompson Street in the Village, I saw a game that was won the same way, on time, by a player that had only his king left on the board. He was so happy that he said it was the best game he had ever played. I knew this was the future of chess, so I stop playing, and haven't played since then.

Good game to the both of you. Big Rick managed to draw from a lost position, which isn't easy to do. (And I would have fallen for that trap too). And Forest managed to get in a dominate position while eating, drinking, and talking trash, lol. I think Forest lost track of whose turn it was there for a second and wasted some time that came back to bite him in the end. I wonder what his rating is? Also, can you all play longer time format games? Maybe 10 minutes, instead of five. Personally I wouldn't mind the longer videos and it would be enjoyable to watch some endgame thinking, rather than just rushing all the time. Just my two cents. Take it for what it's worth.

First off, that's the funniest game I've ever seen. Laughed out loud like 10 different times. Forest is absolute GOLD! I don't care what anyone says, this kid eating his pie, trash talking, forgetting his clock was running, and basically destroying this guy - Forest is 1 in a billion. Holy moly.

They ought to play Swiss clock rules in blitz chess…no matter where the clock is, even at the end of the game you always have five seconds to make a move…when THAT 5 seconds is up, THEN you lose on time.

For some reason on Coffee Chess even though it's ok to take the King to win, some players don't do it on the first move out of respect or for whatever reason, if at all, others do.
