The smack method worked while I was watching the next step about putting my phone in the freezer, which thankfully I did not need to do.

Oh my God. When I was 12 my grandmother gave me a Galaxy A12 for Christmas, but that August the screen stopped working. I deemed it broken for over two years. When I was like 13 I had deleted some old digital art from my Google Photos. I wanted to restore it, and I knew the only way to get it back was to fix the phone. So I got the thing out of my closet and tried the steps, and step 5 worked for me! Now I can upload the art back to my Google Photos and increase the size of my digital art folder, thank you so much! Actually, thank you!

Thought it was good to go, but as soon as it went black again, it would not light up with the power button. It would light up when I rec'd a call, but again when it went dark it was dead. You saved me sending it back in the mail to get warranty work and man I appreciate that. EDIT: I woulda sent 10 bucks but it wouldn't let me change the amount, so did what I could. You ROCK!

worked. held the restart for a long time, felt the phone vibrate 6 or 7 times before the samsung a12 came on. Had to continue with the tap and smack methods for a while since the screen would go grey, then white stripes, then homescreen and such. Now that i had it on and working i am rice bagging it, just in case moisture is also an issue (was used for music while skiing). Thanks!

This is life changing. I upgraded to A53 $500 phone, paying on it monthly. Didn't even have it a month and crushed it in the box crusher at work....didn't get insurance either. So I put my SD card in my old A12, so I'd have A phone. Broke it on a Friday, got insurance 3 days later. They send me the A12...because that's where my sd card was. Even tho that's not the phone I'm paying for insurance for. So I send back A12, in hopes they wouldn't investigate too much and just let me get A53...well they refused. So I'm still using A12, screen went black. Grabbed my mom's old A12, hers won't turn on. So I'm back with my old A12 and screen goes out and if I get a call it'll turn back on. Anyways, t mobile sucks. How do they sleep at night!!!

Yes I found my fix here.. the tapping thing worked for me after endless attempts with just the 2 side buttons. I was at my wit's end, with a 2 month old phone quitting on me, before finding this video. THANK YOU mister !

mine has been off for hours no and I keep doing the same method and all I can feel is vibrate but wont turn on.
