@@marioneaddie5590 Cheap cinnamon (like many cheap spices) uses fillers and additives. If you purchase cheap "cinnamon sugar" there's barely any real or no quality cinnamon in it. It's like buying extremely cheap ground coffee ... it tastes like bark.
I'd try that with puff pastry. I've made sopapilla with canned crescent rolls. It was good. Then I found a recipe using puffed pastry. Oh boy! It was soooo much better! It doesn't have that weird canned crescent roll taste, which all Pillsbury canned rolls have. It's flaky and it's like it was bakery made.
@@officermeyer you're welcome! When you do it, tuck the top layer of puff pastry down the insides of the pan if they hang over a bit. You will need to roll out the pastry enough to stretch to fit the pan. I hope you like it!
When you were mixing the cheesecake ingredients and you used the vanilla bottle lid, i was like someone else who is able to do what my Mom would call it , to eyeball it 😂🤣, the good times baking, coming up on a year next month that Mom passed still miss her so much, I see her come through in so many ways with my daughters and grandkids too. So now I think I'm going to have to give this a try, oh and I read into a comment about the puff pastry so I might have to try that out too.
I know I do!! 😆 but I don’t tear the rest of it open over my dish or pan. Got to watch out for those flying cardboard fibers. Unless of course you’re wanting to bulk up on your fiber lol!! 🤣 That being said. This looks delicious!! Who doesn’t love Churros. Stuffed ones at that!! I’d cut those into churro type strips. Yummm thank you for another great receipt idea Justine. 🙏🏻🥰

Who on earth pays a fortune for a small bottle of cinnamon sugar when it's so much cheaper (and easier!) to make it yourself? Just use 1 cup of sugar and then you can customize your cinnamon sugar by adding as much cinnamon as you like. Some recipes call for 1 teaspoon (bland to my tastes) to over 1 tablespoon of cinnamon. And I use more since I like a stronger cinnamon flavor. Cinnamon sugar is a useful thing to have on hand, it's great to add to desserts or to sprinkle on toast, pancakes, waffles or French toast.
@@awatcher4601 that's a great idea!! And if you happen to shop at a store like WinCo that has bulk bins where you can get cinnamon and containers for cheap you can do it that way.
I have a recipe similar but we call it soppapia 🧀. Doesn't call for sour cream or eagle brand. Hadn't heard of putting cinnamon sugar on bottom 👍. Also I like the idea of the sheets instead of creasant dinner rolls pressed together to make a sheet. Also my recipe alls for a stick of butter melted and poured over top before baking. Sit and let cool off some and enjoy. Yum yum.
Looks yummy.👍👍❤️ Off topic but I just realized that your voice is perfect for reading to toddlers and young children. You have the kind of voice that could easily capture and keep the attention of young minds that are normally easily distracted.
Every can of that dough I have gotten lately is torn up inside....other people have said the same... This cheese cake.just looks perfect....gotta do this...and with the strawberries too...❤❤
I was wondering the same thing. Would it work better putting fruit filling before the top layer or on top of the 2nd layer and maybe do some whipped cream if you’d prefer over cinnamon sugar?
Here’s a suggestion, keep the crescent roll sheets in the refrigerator until it is time to add it to the pan, when it is cold the less likely it is to tear and get holes! Room temperature is not its friend, colder is better!
The cinnamon/sugar, yes, mix it yourself. But I also never open biscuits or anything like that over something I'm preparing, too much of a chance for pieces of "paper" to fall in.
Looks delicious and I like the idea of the strawberries, i got to thinking about what goes good with cinnamon and sugar and it has to whipped cream, might just be that extra pop, zing, something, something.
Looks good. For me, cookie dough might make it all too sweet. Maybe with pie crust instead, which is quick and easy to make from scratch or buy the roll out sheets.
It seems soooo good. I just don't know where to find those type of crescent sheets. Have NEVER seen them at any of our grocery stores here in PA. Actually - never saw them when I lived in Indiana, either.

Hi. These crescent sheets without the perforations into triangles are not sold in every grocery store. I'm in North PA, and sometimes I can find them, not always. 😊
Never crack an egg in the bowl with rest of ingredients. If u see red in an egg, it's blood. Everything is then ruined because you certainly don't want to use it
Never buy cinnamon sugar. It's expensive to buy it that way. Just combine cinnamon with sugar yourself.
I was just going to say ..."who BUYS cinnamon sugar?" 😅
And you're in control of how much sugar
Glad u said it❤
I do at Winn Dixie. It only cost me 1.99. Cheap

I think it would be delicious with cherry pie filling spread on top!
That's a good idea
I would put no sugar, add condensed milk layer it the same but use apple pie filling on top.😊 looks good though.
Oooo that sounds delicious
Shouldn’t “filling” go inside?
Ok definitely apple pie filling and whipped cream 😋.

Good point
I am looking for a way to make a extra bite of Yumm on my Chicken Pot Pie. That top layer of extra crust is the reward for making it myself.

Looks yum ❤ I might try it without that top layer of pastry, though. One viewer mentioned an apple topping.. cherry or blueberry would be equally good
Not a baker, but this was easy. Thank you! I enjoy watching your videos and then feeding the brood!
Definitely eat that warm from the oven. I always love warm cheesecake. Love these simple recipes!
It's a sopapilla cheesecake! My grandma showed me this recipe almost 35 years ago!
I've never heard of that recipe name. 😉
Keep your dough cold until you need to use it and you won't have issues.
Pie filling and whip cream on top would be tasty 😋

I keep a jar with sugar & vanilla beans in it & use that combined with quality cinnamon. Fabulous
Save your spice jars and refill with your own cinnamon sugar!

I thought it was cute her having on oven mitts when putting this in the oven, but no mitts after it baked… thought it was cute that’s all.
Pro Tip. Use powdered sugar instead of granulated sugar. Less mixing and smoother texture
Humm drizzle cream cheese frosting over before placing strawberries?? Perhaps even some chocolate drizzled over strawberries..litely??😊😊oh my!!
Sopapilla Cheesecake is what that is. There is a no bake version out there, too.

I make this, i call it sopapilla cheesecake. Omg its so good
Cold dough and don't smack on the counter. Press a butter knife handle onto the separation line.

Why cook the bottom separate instead of all at once so it doesn't burn?
Looked delicious 😋🤤😄
That would make a great lasagna! Thanks for the ideas.

do you use a whole can of eagle brand milk or just part of it?
She says about 1/4c I’m not great with cooking so I can’t tell the measurements either.

Usually you add the eggs 1 at a time AFTER the rest is blended well. It makes a difference
