The lead singer Scott co-wrote this song whit his boyfriend Mark. Quoting his words: ´´This song really really means the world to me. my sweet boyfriend @markmanio and i wrote this together at my piano and, although we initially wrote it for each other, it’s very much about any and everyone in our lives who has made anything just a little (or a lot) easier when life has felt a little too hard. thank you to marky, thank you to my family, thank you to my bandmates, thank you to all of y’all supporting pentatonix for all these years, thank you to the first responders and all the heroes that have saved - and continue working to save - lives this year. i hope this song brings a smile to your face´´
Scott and his boyfriend Mark wrote this song together for each other on Scott’s birthday this September. It’s beautifully arranged and was much needed in these tough times.
This is a love song from Scott to Mark, From Scott and Mark to Pentatonix and from Pentatonix to the world. Yes, this brings all the feels. Pentatonix AND all the PTX reactors, it along with my Sister is what has gotten me through 2020. Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!
Scott co- wrote this song with his boyfriend It Actually has 3 parts in it 1st Scott thanking Mark (Scotts Boyfriend) , 2nd Scott thanking his band mates (the dinnertable Scene) , 3rd PTX thanking all their fans at the end when they all join in. not only are the lyrics, video, and music masterful but the arrangement is beyond Amazing!
Wow how exciting, this song came at a propitious moment, it is all reality that we live in and to think that Scott co-wrote this song with her boyfriend Mark, (who talks about a stressful and tumultuous year), has a more than special meaning. There is no way not to cry. Congratulations PENTATONIX. Passionate and moving. Thank you for the beautiful reaction.💖👏👏👏💕Brasil💕
The stunning visuals, gorgeous voices, marvelous lyrics, the videos, snowball fight, the TV with clips from the year, dinner, tree scene, their own dogs, just wonderful. Made me cry, and got chills, so passionate. I love it ! Thank you for choosing this one. You caught all of the tiny things that make them special. Thank you Jacob.
Always enjoy what your trained ear picks up that my old ears miss. I’ve watched this and several reactions to it, and you pointed out them emulating a string section which I hadn’t noticed and no one had commented on. Thank you for another enlightening reaction. Scott wrote the song.
I love you reaction! Like how you keep pointing out new things for me to notice. And I agree with you on the lyrics, it is beautiful and very moving ❤ Something we really needed this year 🕯
Beautiful! They are gifted and know what they are doing! I love them so much! They are like the long, lost family who give and give to the world! Thanks for reacting! Happy Holidays!
Currently binging all your videos when I should be sleeping since it is 1:40am. Last one for real this time! I love your reactions and it makes me listen to more than just the lyrics since you've pointed out specific instruments and details (just finished watching the Hamilton videos). I'm glad I found your channel!
As far as I know, this is the only Pentatonix song with a piano. Kevin plays the cello in several of their songs (maybe a half dozen or so). I know he does in Perfect, Say Something, Radioactive (with Lindsey Stirling), Papaoutai (also with Lindsey Stirling). I know there are more, but those are the ones that pop immediately into my head.
I am a fan of your breakdown musically. Musicians point of view can be overlooked but the explanation to the naked ear really helps understand further... for those who may not know. Good job.
I really enjoy your reactions and musical expertise...I’ve also enjoyed watching you, at times almost suspending belief to comprehend what you just heard...PTX’ll do that to you!
A touching song to remind us of the power of these two words, Thank You. I like how Scott wove in the jingle bells phrase. Kevin is a master cellist and beatboxer. Happy Thanksgiving Jacob!
I don't mind the pauses and comments. I understand copy rights. I do feel you are missing some parts. I suggest you go back a few seconds before resuming play. I do enjoy your reactions.
I liked your reaction. you asked if we had a suggestion to make it better. I suggest you dont look at your phone during a reaction. It,s like if you are with a friend who keeps looking at their phone, it feels like your mind is somewhere else. You can't be two places at once.
This makes me so sad. The end of Pentatonix as an a cappella band. I did sort of think it might happen because Avi Kaplan was really the only one who had practiced it before and he has been gone 3 years now. Did you notice they changed the font on their name too this month?
They have had the occasional songs with Kevin playing the cello even while Avi was with them (Say Something, Radioactive, Papatoui are examples). Just because on this particular song that Scott co-wrote with his partner using the piano to begin with and added a cello by Kevin, doesn't mean they are no longer an acapella group. With their HUGE catalog of music, less than 10 songs uses an instrument, therefore that doesn't change the fact that they sing acapella. If anything it showcases their other talents and versatility.
Well we cannot look at Pentatonix as an a cappella band anymore can we? First we had dead singers last year or the year before included in Christmas songs - Whitney Houston and Bing Crosby. Now we have piano added to Kevin's cello. Enough already. The uniqueness is gone.

💗Scott wrote the song with his boyfriend Mark. It's about their relationship and the struggles of this year, but it can apply to ANYONE in your life.
Such a beautiful song! "That's Christmas to Me" is also a gorgeous song by them and definitely pulls the heart strings.

This is a two octave vocal song. That is a decent range on this song for sure, especially for a male voice.
From what I have heard, Scott and his partner Mark wrote this. So full of love and beauty.
I love you reaction! Like how you keep pointing out new things for me to notice. And I agree with you on the lyrics, it is beautiful and very moving ❤ Something we really needed this year 🕯
Original song written during or after the pandemic. Scott & Mark wrote the song; they are partners. Love this song!❤

Can you react to Kevin Olusola doing Heart Attack? Kevin plays cello and beatboxes at the same time.
“Thank You” Written by Scott
I like the "jingle all the way" in the piano intro
Edit: oh they repeated it
Happy Thanksgiving, Jacob.
A touching song to remind us of the power of these two words, Thank You. I like how Scott wove in the jingle bells phrase. Kevin is a master cellist and beatboxer. Happy Thanksgiving Jacob!

Totally understand!! You’re right!
Scott, the one singing, wrote this with his partner. It is beautiful.
Kevin is the best boxer but a fantastic cello player also.
This song already has a cover!! ruclips.net/video/cxggfpuif-E/видео.html
I am triggered everytime I read "WhatApp - 1 xxxxxxxxx"
I think it should be "WhatsApp - 1- xxxxxxxxxx"
Could you possibly look at little dark age by MGMT. I like watching you pick through the music it’s satisfying somehow 😅
thanks for the idea!
