Hey fam, your analogy and theory on AA and SA, cultural experiences is what resonates to me. Being in Jozi makes me feel like home, and this is the reason why I'm looking forward to relocating to SA. Being in SA for 2 years is a milestone, especially the things you're doing to bring SA and AA together. Stay blessed and Ubuntu my brother.
Tell your American brothers to stop messing with us. Things get done by Nigerians and they shit on US. The relations between the two will sour soon because of their idiotic nature. Those FBAs are foolish
Born and bred in Gauteng in 70s I know apertheid , when we growup in the 80 , there was heavyweight boxing between Gerrie Coetzee 🇿🇦 and John Tate ( USA) a black American won by TKO ; we celebrate out on the street when a white man was beaten by a black man from USA 🤔
Asad, I've never been to America but when you talk about Louisiana, I immediately think about The Meters and their LP, titled Rejuvenation. That whole LP was a "bang" man in the ?'70s.
You guys are HILARIOUS!!! Please do more of this sense of humor in between kicking knowledge, it makes the video easier to watch and the knowledge more digestible. When you said "when interests converge, there doesn't have to be a overt conspiracy, everybody just plays their role", bro? We could have a long conversation on that one, because it hit home.
Happy Anniversary on 2 years. That time went by so fast, but so glad you’re still rocking with us. You both were sincerely missed, but glad you both are feeling better. I’ll be in those Jozi streets on the 27th and can’t wait!
Keep well Doc in our home continent. I am proud of my South Africa. You don't need to be apologetic. We welcome all our African Americans with our warm hearts. We are blessed to have you and family in our mist. Jozi has never become so popular until you came home.
Awww Feel Better Family ❤ But, you’re still representing ✊🏾Happy JoBurg Anniversary 🎉 Thanks for bringing us along to teach us the truth of our homeland! Showing us there is more to this world 🌎 and we’re in it if we just get out our own way. ❤We Appreciate You & your family!!
Absolutely! As the song goes, “A House is not a home….” Also As an Haitian woman I didn’t know I was Black until I came to the US. So, you’re right in your definition of Blackness as it relates to white supremacy. Best wishes with your book!👏🏽👏🏽💪🏾
African Americans, Afro Brazilians and South Africans have personal experiences of past/present systemic racism and white supremacy. We are all able to have objective and insightful conversations while referencing real events, people, places…
If we've both been through trauma but we choose each other, are we healing each other or peeling off the wound over and over again? Keep on enjoy SA doc y'all are loved in SA
Good morning and congrats on 2 years in SA. Keep being best friends and loving each other. We’ve all been through too much trauma! It feels like it’s never ending. That’s why, for me, going to Africa is so healing and comforting. Although us descendants of slaves are accustomed to the USA trauma, we figured out how to survive. Looking forward to coming home soon.❤ Regarding our youth, I wish that they can all experience the continent.
airbnb is the new school colonisation. "When their interest align, they all play their party". 😭South Africa has great potential for Black solidarity and building a better future. However, some successful Black South Africans and African Americans tend to assimilate into white-dominated spaces rather than reinvesting in predominantly Black communities. While I'm not suggesting everyone must live in townships or start charities, I believe we need to establish clear communication channels and goals for Black empowerment and self-determination. for us by us FUBU.
I never thought about what you're saying until now. But I feel more of a connection due to the infrastructure and the technology that we share with south africa.. I feel like that is what it's going to make it easier for me to adjust being so far away from america
Great topic, and congrats on the upcoming release of your new book. Abigail LucyMary channel did a vlog on the new is rael looking to settle in Cape Town, S.A.
The capexit thing is just not sitting well in my soul but the main problem is our brothers and sisters are unemployed they stressing on how to get the next meal, and I've rumors that department of home affairs has issued out a statement against that movement but we can't wait on the Government to save us
