Hey fam, your analogy and theory on AA and SA, cultural experiences is what resonates to me. Being in Jozi makes me feel like home, and this is the reason why I'm looking forward to relocating to SA. Being in SA for 2 years is a milestone, especially the things you're doing to bring SA and AA together. Stay blessed and Ubuntu my brother.

Born and bred in Gauteng in 70s I know apertheid , when we growup in the 80 , there was heavyweight boxing between Gerrie Coetzee 🇿🇦 and John Tate ( USA) a black American won by TKO ; we celebrate out on the street when a white man was beaten by a black man from USA 🤔

Asad, I've never been to America but when you talk about Louisiana, I immediately think about The Meters and their LP, titled Rejuvenation. That whole LP was a "bang" man in the ?'70s.

Please do more of this sense of humor in between kicking knowledge, it makes the video easier to watch and the knowledge more digestible.
When you said "when interests converge, there doesn't have to be a overt conspiracy, everybody just plays their role", bro? We could have a long conversation on that one, because it hit home.

We’ve all been through too much trauma! It feels like it’s never ending. That’s why, for me, going to Africa is so healing and comforting. Although us descendants of slaves are accustomed to the USA trauma, we figured out how to survive. Looking forward to coming home soon.❤

airbnb is the new school colonisation. "When their interest align, they all play their party". 😭South Africa has great potential for Black solidarity and building a better future. However, some successful Black South Africans and African Americans tend to assimilate into white-dominated spaces rather than reinvesting in predominantly Black communities. While I'm not suggesting everyone must live in townships or start charities, I believe we need to establish clear communication channels and goals for Black empowerment and self-determination. for us by us FUBU.

It will also be interesting to see the extension of home concept, and how it bridged the digital divide between generations.
Grannies and Granddads now doing more video calling (thanks to Covid isolation).
Great quick perspective and may your stay continue to be a bridge between diaspora.
Next one (do a quick perspective on the farm situation (murders), but don't let it become a trigger towards hate. They use ( title ) The Law of The Land ( The Law of Ownership over Law of Community).

Thought you've seen news in relation to two ladies murdered on farms, and two gents recently discovered murdered on farms. ( Links up with the gentrification) and land dispossession or land crime.
But all this exist in a situation, where the country can Stand Together ( celebrate 30 Years, Springboks and navigating the 'national question' SA racial question dynamics.
I've observed how different AA and Black South Africans, navigate the racial question a bit different politically, particularly in the context of November elections. But I guess we all have different level of "trauma" adjustment. Still not certain if its the majority or minority aspect of how we navigate race.

We get you Doc. There is a very good reason even the richest of us sneak off back to the townships to let our hair down and just be.
We love to live authentically and organically. Frills and put-on fanciness irritate.
And why keep dogs that need to be walked when there is a perfectly self-sufficient dog that is found in every neighbouhood from all of Africa to all of the Caribbeans.
(The TikTok world has established that every black country in the world has this (African) dog called Bobby) that never barks at thieves breaking in but knows where all the fun is at in the area.

Holding it down in South Africa for 2 years ain't easy. A house is not a home. New Orleans is bouncing backnfrom Hurricane Francine 🌀category1. Mostly no power. But Hurricane Katrina was a disastrous traumatic calamity. We still healing from it going on 20 years. Whitesupremacy is ongoing in SA and USA to the highest degree. Our Blackness is mainly reactionary just in order to exist.
