I definitely think the first half of the show was bit slow, but the second part was on point. In fact, this Banquet is almost as energetic as the Letterman debut!

Whatever happened, Matt should have been professional and finished the tour. Then everyone can go their own ways. That said, well done Sarah for stepping in and being awesome.
So Here We Are is a lot slower then even the studio recording. A rare sight or sound if you will from Bloc Party
she did awesome job to keep the shows going...not her fault...she is awesome drummer....:)
She's a good drummer, I still prefer Matt on drums. He brought something different, but Sarah is really up there, nothing but blessings for her.
people are raving about the drummer because she a girl.... there is no comparison between sarah and matt... matt brought so much energy to their live set... his departure is a great lost to bloc party

It is actually different...and the vibe of the band too...i don't know, i think i do like them more with Matt on the drums. This aside, she does an excellent job.

Any way, dont know if many of yours are musicians... but just think about this: She is not Blog Party, and she plays as she is... i'am just thinking about the hours she spended for being so cool... and so relax.

I think it's a big difference when you write a drum-line or you just try to cope with it (which is executed perfectly here).
She will give it more punch and ferocity when she starts to mess around with the tracks.
I really wish they kept Sarah as their drummer instead of Louise. There's no replacement for Matt Tong, but Sarah just had that passion and presence that carries so well onto the live stage.
this is the sound of a band that has been on the road for too long and needs a break. i'm actually glad that they've decided to take some time off. hopefully they'll return with totally renewed energy. they've gotten much better live, especially considering that for this show they're working with a drummer who, despite counting off the songs slower, is much more solid than matt is (matt's a killer drummer, but he has absolutely no concept of keeping consistent time). i'm digging the new RNB/electronica-influenced material.
however, the energy, for some reason, is just not there during this show. while they're hitting most of the notes perfectly, they just sound a bit bored this show for some reason. i wouldn't mind it if they rocked the hell out once in a while, even if they aren't 25 years old anymore. also whoever mixed this show did a crap job. vocals are way too loud, and the guitars and bass are completely subdued. definitely not playing on the band's strengths here.
also, i've noticed that over the years kele's guitar is being turned down more and more live, which annoys me a little bit, considering how entire songs have been built around and off of his rhythms and chord progressions, especially the earlier stuff.

Correction: she did an amazing job, stop pre-judging her because she's a woman. She fucking rocked and they played alot of the songs faster (not slower?) than usual.

She did quite all right on the drums. They all played up to their levels, but the mix of this video isn't up to the quality of many of their other festival videos. Perhaps, that's a factor in some perceptions of her playing? And what's with cameramen and producer barely showing Gordon? That sucks.
Rock steady female drummer! It was a weakness for the band in the times Matt played the drums. BUT how creative he was! My drummer's heart prefer Louise but I pay my respect to Mister Tong.

Matt's been gone for a majority of the tour this year. Neither the band nor Matt have said anything about his absences yet.

lol, the vocals arn't that bad, stop hatin, also Sarah is a hell of a drummer, sure shes not Matt, but she still did a great job. Tbf I'd take this line up over their current one, especially if they played sets like this and not the new mediocre stuff.

Matt was good but Sarah was better imo. She's just playing songs she didn't write, of course the original drummer would be better at the nuances that come with those songs

Bettered? I wouldn't say that. She did a great job, but I wouldn't say she played it better. She definitely beats the crap out of a lot of other drummers though. Musicians are musicians, sexes have nothing to do with the passion. If anything is wrong with this, it seems to be the vocalist. He seemed to be a little off.
Also, aqua dude is very wrong. I play many instruments and they are all a challenge. What you said was very ignorant. Never pick up any instrument, please
