This is my favorite phone mount...one handed operation and more solid than the "X-mount"...adjustable width but doesn't fit some of the gigantic "plus" phones, but does just fine with my standard iphone7. Have this in two vehicles and on two sets of moto handlebars. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0088LL7UA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Ram also makes a larger ball variety for mounting heavier items. I've used both for mounting various items inside helicopters. The large balls can hold a lot more weight. I've used them to mount 16" and larger monitors and they hold up great to all the vibrations and quick maneuvers that are inherent in helicopter flights. You can use 2 way interconnects to add additional arms if needed or 3 way interconnects if you need a sturdier mount which allows you to mount the base in more than one place.
Hey, This was a great video. I have a Chevy Silverado and was trying to figure out how to mount my gear and you just helped me. There is a lot of mounts for Jeeps and Toyota’s but not for my truck. Thank you so much for this video. Chuck
I am with you. I too have a Chevy Silverado (2008 extended cab, 6.5 bed, 4wd). All kinds of things for Jeep, Toyota, some Ford, Ford Ranger and Chevy Colorado. Not too much for us full size Chevy truck guys. I have been researching what is out there for ideas, and looking for ways to DIY. I have not done anything as of yet (limiting factors). But in the mean time, looking for ideas, recourses for materials, and DIY fabrications. One project is designing a DIY roof top tent using extruded aluminum (as well as a camp kitchen in the bed). Trying different designs using Sketchup.
Would you say your love for these products is... Balls deep ? Very informative, great examples. You convinced me to get the ram stem with x grip motorcycle mount. Going to setup my desk and my truck soon. Maybe put a rail with a mount for my devices infront of my toilet. Keep up the great videos, thank you.
Awesome idea with the RAM mounting system. As far as the "T" bolts...You can get those almost anywhere (hardware store, Lowe's, Home Depot). You can find them at woodworking stores and on line (Woodcraft or Rockler). They are actually called toilet flange bolts. They are what holds down your toilet to the floor. Woodworkers use them in their jigs and other projects. With using a T-track, you can use regular 1/4 - 20 bolts.
Very cool video as always I wish I would have known about these when I had my Tacoma it would have been fun driving all the logging roads with those attached. Had to sell my taco to help me while I went through cancer treatment. I will get her back one day!
Wondering how that got mounted in there. I'd like to see a video on that. I've been trying to figure out a place where to install one with a nice and clean look. This could work.
It's my ham (amzn.to/2PMnhnt) - and getting it installed there, while not super difficult, is kind of hard to explain. It comes with a little mounting bracket, shaped somewhat like an "L". I removed the little tray there in the dash, drilled a small hole in it to attach the "L" bracket do the bottom of that tray. I drilled one hole in the back of the tray for the cable to run to the unit. It's not setup to be removed quickly at all - you need to pop that whole section out, in order to access the bolt to remove the unit.
Awesome job on the Ram mounts presentation. I just recently bought a Samsung Tab S 5e. I installed a case on it and need a mounting system that will fit the Tablet in the case as a whole.
RAM mounts are awesome! I've been using them to mount things on my kayak for years, they're (nearly) indestructible. Not to veer off topic too much but I'm interested to know what dash cam you use? There are so many options out there and you usually pick out the good stuff lol
Off Amazon you can buy a t-track system that’s made for a kayak and grind it down a little on the sides save like 60 bucks. It’s a easy modification. Yakattack 12 inch from Amazon works perfectly with the ram mount t track system 💪
Lol I have the same blue shop towel roll sitting in my passenger door on my Tacoma too. Of all things in this video I see that and I’m like 👊🏻 we are one
What magnets are you using for the back of your phone??? I found the mounts on your Amazon page but not the actual phone magnet. The one you have looks ultra slim!
This is exactly what Ive been looking for! I like your system Mike I will be adapting this to my Can Am X3 Max XRS. Thanks for the info and love the vids!
What is the device under the AC vent to the left of the steering wheel? Sorry if you explained in another video. I tried looking but I figured I can also ask.
That's my ham - amzn.to/2xcV41f - haven't done a video on my setup yet, but it is often requested. I'll probably cave in and talk about it in a video in the nearish future.
I've been to looking into ram mounts for my jeep. I as well use a tablet for offline GPS(I highly suggest anybody who is into survival, camping, hunting, hiking, fishing, anything outdoors off grid download and pay for premium Base Map app) but I've just been putting it on my dash. It's fine for normal city driving since my jeep is my daily driver for now, but when I'm on the trails or going to my hunting cabin to shoot or hunt, not so much lol. I'm actually going tomorrow before work to hopefully buy a new jeep(2016 Grand Cherokee) which will now be my daily driver, leaving my WJ as a trail rig.
Damn man... that was an excellent video. So helpful. Did you do a vid on the racks? I want to do some camera set up for B roll on my roof racks. Any tips?
I’ve got a feeling my wife is going to hate you! I’m a gadget guy and about to start personalizing my SUV. Your video not only saved me from drilling some holes but opened up a world of opportunities to improve and probably “safen” my vehicles.
@lastlineofdefense Quick hack for folks w/ Prinsu racks- I tried running my RAM Track balls in the Prinsu crossbar slots, but the RAM T-Nut is too thick and gets stuck immediately. I know yours fit in this video, but something must have changed between then & now to make the T-Nut not fit. HOWEVER, the standard 1/4” carriage bolts that everybody uses in the Prinsu slots share the same thread pitch as the RAM Track Ball T-Nuts, so just swap out the t-nut w/ the carriage bolt and you have a RAM ball that works flawlessly in the Prinsu slots. I use mine w/ RAM arms as an articulating roofrack GoPro mount 🤙🏼
I guess to make sure you don't hit something important while drilling the holes for the track system, you probably take apart what your drilling into and look at it? I've never taken any of the trim stuff off my car except in the wheel wells to fix some stuff, but I'm not sure how it works on the interior.
A little off topic, but can anyone provide a good comparison between LLOD and Tier1 appendix holsters? Im not satisfied with my current holster and looking at better options.
Hey Mike! Hope you’ve been well! Is there any possibility in the future for a iwb holster without the mag? I would love one for the pl mini with your charging feature without the mag. I’m sure you’re tired of people asking questions like that but just curious
You guys have any clever Ram uses or accessories you think I should know about? Or any other types of mounting techniques you use?
Dash top multi mount sold by a Tacoma world forum member. Cleaner look, but only room for 4 ram balls.
Run 2 on my motorcycle 1 for phone and 2nd for a cupholder
One on my bike for my phone.
I wonder if you could mount a CB to that? Would be interesting to see.

I just bought my first 4x4 Tacoma!!!! I have wanted one ever since I was a jr. in hs. love watching your videos, sir.
What upgrades have you added to your Rig? Much health and safe travels...
That Daka pouch... not calling it a Ball Sack was a missed opportunity...
I've been using RAM mounts for years in my airplane, and you still taught me new things. Great video. Ciao, Marco.

At last! The perfect explanation for Ram system I’ve seen. Now I know what of the zillions of possibilities I need to get. Thank you!
Had mine for about 3 years. Love it. Kayak, bike, vehicle.
Best explanation of ram mounts I’ve seen! Great job! I’ve been wanting to get some and this really helps in my decision making!
Thanks man, glad it was helpful!
Thanks! These things are addictive. I’ve been using some in my FJ for phone and ham radio but now I have more ideas, thanks.

Excellent vid. These are really popular on kayaks too.

Great coverage. Love the rail idea for the jeep
Mounting gopros and cameras... This is right up my alley!
Very cool video as always I wish I would have known about these when I had my Tacoma it would have been fun driving all the logging roads with those attached. Had to sell my taco to help me while I went through cancer treatment. I will get her back one day!
Excellent, video brother!
I’ve used ram mounts before, but never knew about all the different mounts and stuff they offer. Great video, really gave me some ideas , thanks!
What's the device with the screen to the lower left of the steering wheel at 10:39? Is that your ham radio?
Dan Strobel yes I saw the same device and I’m curious as to what it was too?
I was wondering that too
Wondering how that got mounted in there. I'd like to see a video on that. I've been trying to figure out a place where to install one with a nice and clean look. This could work.

@@LastLineOfDefense Damn that small thing pushes 50watts? Pretty awesome.
Ye man great stuff. We’ve been using their products in the kayak fishing world for years. The gear track takes it to another level.
Dude, you cleaned your truck! Lookin good!
Wow..this was very helpful actually. I didn’t know they were *THIS* versatile. They happen to work perfectly for your system
Yeah, I think I've only just scratched the surface.
Last Line Of Defense dude...you’re gonna spend hours staring at your truck figuring out how to optimize these LOL
How I spend most of my evenings...
Last Line Of Defense fun ain’t it? Keep at it, Mike. Your innovation has done wonders for my various systems
Hey Mike - where did you get the magnetic plates on the back of your iPad???
"The Glock of the mounting world" LMAO, good one
Had these for awhile for my motorcycles! They're awesome!
Nicely done as always, thanks.
What kind of radio is that at 12:15 Mike?
Awesome job on the Ram mounts presentation. I just recently bought a Samsung Tab S 5e. I installed a case on it and need a mounting system that will fit the Tablet in the case as a whole.
now that is cool mounting product for sure, I need to grab some myself..

I use the X grip RAM mount in my truck, and I have a handlebar ball mount for my bike. Very handy.
What is the inflatable seat mount called?
How did you secure the the ram track to your dash? Apoxy? Screws? Did you drill into the plastic? Please let me know.
Off Amazon you can buy a t-track system that’s made for a kayak and grind it down a little on the sides save like 60 bucks.
It’s a easy modification.

What’s that thing between the seats the pumps with air called? Can’t seem to find it.
www.rammount.com/part/RAM-B-407-PUMPU
Great video Mike! Thanks. TAO
What do you have mounted in your truck around the 12:35 mark?
cool stuff have never used the RAM mounts but will try them in the future
The DARA gun holster works with Ram too. Pretty cool.
We actually use the dual suction cup in our helicopters for which we had no other options, work great, you can use it just fine on moving vehicles.
Just got my LLOD Multicam and foliage very nice hat thanks Mike.
Fantastic overview of Ram mounts! We're just getting up to speed using them. In fact, we'll be installing some in our 4Runner this weekend!
How did you fit the ram track between the removable panel and the dash?
How did you mount your ham radio? Looks like a clean install. Maybe a vid about that in the future?
Props!
Appreciate the run through on this system!
This isn’t related to the ram mount per day, but I noticed that you have an ftm-400 mounted on the left side of the dash. How did you mount it?
I like your phone holder. Where did you get it and what kind is it?
That is a great idea and so customizable. Thanks for another cool video.
What magnets are you using for the back of your phone??? I found the mounts on your Amazon page but not the actual phone magnet. The one you have looks ultra slim!
What size Ball do you use for your iPad? I bought one with the B size and it does shake quite a bit on road, I’d hate to see it off road 😩
Do you still that the same Ram Tough Track on your truck? What type of modification did you need to do to the dash? I'm considering something similar.
I do, I think I described and showed it in this video.
@@LastLineOfDefense Just watched a bit further in the video and you did mention what you did. haha. sorry to bother. :)
Dude that is very cool those things are super versatile I am getting some for sure thank you so much for sharing and cheers
Hey, thanks for your videos. BTW, I tried using the TD discount and they said it was invalid. 🤔???
I don't believe I have a discount at TD.
What's the card holder stuck to the inside of the door? What cards you carry in it?
What dashcam and mount is that near your windshield?
Can you do a “What’s on my iPad”. I love to see what types of apps you use for overland kind of stuff
Great infomercial!
Think of get that phone mount on my 2020 tacoma
This is exactly what Ive been looking for! I like your system Mike I will be adapting this to my Can Am X3 Max XRS. Thanks for the info and love the vids!
What do you use for over land maps on your iPad?
What is the device under the AC vent to the left of the steering wheel? Sorry if you explained in another video. I tried looking but I figured I can also ask.

I really enjoyed this video! Gives me new ideas for my second gen taco.
Whats the screen in the background for at 12:25?
What happens to the mounted equipment when the air bags activate???
Intro on point!😂👌🏻
5 people found it very offensive... haha
15:25 what is that on the background?
15:25 is the end of the video and just black, so I'm not sure?
I clicked on this thinking I wouldnt be interested. I swear I'm gonna cover my 4runner in these now. Awesome video brother, as all of yours are
What is that device mounted below your a/c vent on the left?
Great vid. I use Ram mounts all over my truck as well . Can you make a vid on your ham radio setup - radio, mount, antenna, etc. Thanks!
Are the magnetic plates you have on your phone and tablet from Ram Mounts as well?
Love me some Ram mount products! Use them in my Jeep as well!

Hey, when you going to go over your commo setup?
Where do you get the plates on the phone and ipad
"This is a steering wheel." Thanks man, I've been wondering what that was haha
What’s the screen to the left and slight below steering wherl

That must be a new rack. I bought mine last year and it didn't have those slots.
Is there any reason I couldn’t install that on top of my dash ?(2001 Tacoma)
Do a short video on how to mount the track on the dash please.
Never knew about these. Thanks!
Best intro ever.
I guess to make sure you don't hit something important while drilling the holes for the track system, you probably take apart what your drilling into and look at it? I've never taken any of the trim stuff off my car except in the wheel wells to fix some stuff, but I'm not sure how it works on the interior.
You had me within seconds
You should look into expedition essentials and look at there TPAM mount for the Tacoma! Or it’s on Tacoma beast as well.
A little off topic, but can anyone provide a good comparison between LLOD and Tier1 appendix holsters? Im not satisfied with my current holster and looking at better options.
That fact that you kept a steady face after you said balls for a few seconds....just awesome lol. We laughed so hard.
Haha I didn't realize that the video would be so 'balls' related until I started filming...
Great video!!!!
What mount are you using for your phone?
Love the new videos, can you do one on that awesome air compressor we saw mounted in your engine bay? I want to add an air system to my Tacoma.
Hey Mike! Hope you’ve been well! Is there any possibility in the future for a iwb holster without the mag? I would love one for the pl mini with your charging feature without the mag. I’m sure you’re tired of people asking questions like that but just curious
I do have plans for those in the future, yup!
Fantastic! Thanks for the response
great video
“These little balls in my system...”
Hey what app is that on the ipad in the thumbnail? Great video as always!
