I grabbed myself one of these when they were on sale and it made a very real difference. It eliminated a twisting motion I was feeling through the seat that I didn’t realize was there until it was gone.
Love what you’re doing brother I’ve had my mk6 gti for just about 4 years now and have done quite a bit as well and you’ve definitely shown me some things that are next one the list haha. 100% though with everything you have going I highly recommend a tune I’ve just got the COBB access port and stage 2 but even stage 1 really really brings the car to life so so much more than you can imagine
@@TheParkingLotMechanic I get it haha it's nice to follow a RUclipsr that has a real life and a budget like the rest of us, so much I want to do to my gti, but it all gets there slowly. I got my tune during the black Friday sales as it was too good to pass up, ended up being about $820AUD with the dongle
@@Kyleattwoodphoto damn why didnt you just go with the ap, such a better value and i know its around 750$ and only has a stage 1+ tune , the abiltiy to get pro tuned is worth it
Just got both their bars for the back interior. I've been eyeing it for over a year. After going stage 2 there are things that feel like a must in order to feel dialed in.
Great video bud, nicely done. I think you're saying that you tensioned the rod outward, is that right? The bar is supposed to be shortened, or tightened INWARD. It seems counter-intuitive, but with the way the side brackets are designed they are meant to tension the other way. Applying force outward can cause them to leverage themselves against the seat catch hooks. I have an ECS bar on my MK7.5 and the install instructions for both kits say to tension the rod inward, or shorten the length of it. Look at pg.10 of the install PDF on your MK6 brace.
Another great video. I got the xb brace by unibrace that has 4 mounting spots to put in still. It should stiffen up the flex of the open area the gti has, which is why it rolls so much. But it sounds like this is doing a great job. I know ecs offers a 4-point bar, not sure if it's interchangeable with the one you have.
It really seems like no matter who you buy from, this is a great upgrade! And the one from ECS works with the bar I currently have. It can be bought separately as an add on to make it their full stage 2 brace. Wanted to start with this one for now though!
Mods I’m currently looking at but I’m not sure if they are worth it: Diesel Geek shifter, CTS K04 turbo with IE tune, wavetrac LSD, and ECS stage 2 clutch with lightweight flywheel. If you could install and review any and all of these I would be much grateful.
One of the next mods I'll be doing is a Diesel Geek shifter so be sure the stay tuned for that! Probably April time. And I'll eventually be doing the same clutch upgrade but I'll be stopping at stage 2 tune for the time being. Once I get another daily, probs gonna K04 it.
@@TheParkingLotMechanic I haven’t had my MK6 very long but I put a high flow catted down pipe and stage 2 tune in it the first week. That’s basically all I was planning on doing for a fun daily but found out the new stock clutch in it is completely inadequate. The turbo kicks in nicely with stage 2 but it immediately falls on its face. I imagine K04 should be perfect for a daily. My car is not in great cosmetic condition so I don’t want to put too much money into it. Since I’ll be in there for a clutch, I’ve heard great things about an LSD. Since I’m putting in those might as well upgrade the turbo. Then motor mounts, shifter, and on and on… P.S. I ordered the brace off your recommendation. I have a 23mm eibach rear sway bar on the stiff setting and ECS lower brace and still under steer in tight corners. Maybe it is my driving style. I have an Ultra racing front strut tower brace that I still need to install and we’ll as some poly bushings for the aluminum Passat front control arms with spindles that I put in. I can let you know how those go if you are interested.

Definitely was when I grabbed this too. Love how easy it was to install and how much it actually did for reducing flex!

Agree on the tune, I went with integrated engineering stage 1 on my mk6 gti, changed the car so much, really woke it up
I am slowly saving up for a tune! Don't have the largest budget but a tune is coming soon!

Hey mate, mountain roads are my Zen place to.

Thank you so much for that! Definitely counterintuitive but I can see how that's better!

Thank you!
Do the seats need to be down or can they go back up? Also you need go stage 1 on integrated engineering.
Seats are able to still go up
Yes, seats can still go up! I kept them down for filming to see the bar but I daily it with the seats up.
@@TheParkingLotMechanic was there any rubbing or weird noises with the seats up? I'm looking at picking one up for myself?
@@101TheKMan fits real well. Only thing is seats take a little extra pressure to fully latch in going up but once they’re up, they’re up.
