Using Neutron boosts doesn't have to be scary. I've only been using this method for a couple hours, and it already feels more routine than risky. Just make sure you have a fuel scoop!
The Neutron Star Route Planner can be found here -
www.spansh.co.uk/
A couple points:
1: 3000ish ly in an hour is right there on the line for my ship's normal jump performance, so I'm not sure if I'm making any great amount of time. I'll have to look closer at that and maybe fine-tune the route planner's settings. I may have to up the route efficiency. I make fewer jumps certainly, but I spend more time in the map and alt tabbing around. Six of one, half a dozen of the other?
2: To be honest, Neutron boosts are a lot easier and a lot less nerve wracking than white dwarf star boosts. A lot less heat, a lot less worry about gravity, a lot more jump range. Kind of baffling to me really. Still, to quote a certain dino-mode Megatron: "Oh well! Mustn't complain." - Игры
So tried this for about 20min or so with no luck.
Turns out you need a Fuel Scoop. So yeah. For all those pilots having trouble getting it, there ya go.
Nigga your telling me I've been jumping into a fucking neutron star getting cancers for 2 hours no reason
Kyle Ashley yep
Heh, you're not alone. I did that too the first time I tried to N-Jump myself.
Perhaps if you were not such a motley crew of solecistic and catachrestic analphabet peasant imbeciles...
G Spawn It has nothing to do with the instructional video and everything to do with how stupid one has to be to not figure out you need to collect the energy from the neutron star to get a boost. How the hell do you get energy to boost without the means to get the energy? That’s like saying “I spent months trying to figure out how to set up solar power for my house but I learned that I need solar panels first.”
I wish the Jump it self looked different, it is super charged you know
dont forget the acid...
Weed is all you need to get the patience for the grind xD jk , love the game :)
Id recommend LTJ - Bukem or Vince Watson DJ mixes / Podcasts. :)
@ Alan, aye! This is exactly what I feel every time I engage my spaceship’s Frame Shift Drive! A good-like marvel available by the press of a button in my cockpit. This is what A.D. 3304 feels like...
I agree
I don't even play this game and I still find this incredibly interesting.
life is boring, same crap all day....
Same as me. I binge watch this videos for some reason and I don't even own the game.
Don't listen to him, it can keep you going for months with no end. Sure, after a while you will get bored... And that IS a problem, that I don't know how they going to fix it...
I own it and I've probably spent more time watching and reading about it than actually playing it.
@The Infidel Star Citizen cultist detected.
6:55 that's a rather mad neutron star...
The real ones are even wilder
For this game, that's actually kinda chill. Some of the angrier ones are fucking seizure inducing
yet to see a millisecond pulsar
@@timothygooding9544 I found a ton around Colonia, check it out
It would be nice if the Supercharged Jump had a new warp instead of the same, normal jump. Like instead of the normal warp, Supercharged Jump would have a higher pitch look more badass.
Or like the warp effect from 2001: a space odyessy
You should note that the mass of your ship is going to change how much you get jostled around. You get tossed much more in an ASP or DBX than you do in a conda.
I was totally unaware of that. D'oh >_< Pinning this to the top for that information.
Yeah, it can be a real surprise how quickly the smaller class ships can get turned around and flung right into the exclusion zone in a blink. I do a lot of deep space exploration and with the smaller ships it helps to aim further out towards the end of the jet just in case. Optimally you want to get good enough where you enter at just the right distance that the momentum carries you out the end of the jet just as the overcharge hits.
How in the hell do you do this. I have been trying for an hour, doing exactly what you do and i dont get supercharged
January Austin I tried today for the first time and the first time I came in a little too fast for my liking and I got supercharged. Then it wouldn’t let me jump because of fuel usage. So I tried again. And again. And again. About five times and never could get supercharged.
Mass isn't going to change at all. However, what will change is how gravity influences it. Physics 101.
Wow, I had no idea you could even do this lol. Thank you, Sir.
Totally change a way of game, i back to ED ffs :D
GO PANTHERS!!!
It's not in game anymore
CMDR Exoticspeedefy, I just supercharged from a couple neutron stars last night, so it's definitely still in the game.
@@exoticspeedefy7916 definitely still in the game
Once you've hit the Neutron Star Highway proper (i.e., below the galactic disc between the Bubble and Colonia), you can filter for just non-main sequence stars near the destination Spansh gives you. This is a great way to tag some undiscovered neutron stars of your own.
what language is this
hi fellow creature!
Diced Catarina Onions 😂
they should just make it the oldschool windows flying through space screen saver when you activate a supercharged fsd
You ARE the flying toaster....
I just bought this game yesterday and it's awesome and it's the first time in a long time I am actually loving a video game. Never heard of it until Saturday night.
still playing?
Cartman Ftw I got confused after accepting a cargo run that I couldn't deliver because I couldn't hyperjump because I had too much weight on my ship. I try to figure out what to do next but I was stuck on what to do next. I'll have to download it again on PlayStation 4 if you play I'd be happy to send you a friend request. I can probably hop on this weekend by that time it should be fully downloaded.
ReaperCheGuevara Alexander sadly i'm playing on pc so we can not play together :/
Me to. I've been playing it for about three weeks now. Love it. I got a Sol permit finally, did you get that yet?
ReaperCheGuevara Alexander I’m on PS4 add me bro we can fly together
The “use jet-cone boost” button in the galaxy map automatically diverts your route to a nuetron star if it makes your route better
Yes, but that doesn't exclusively target neutron stars so it takes much longer
that option did not exist when this video was made.
@@snakebae6259 It did. You can see it in the video.
@@bunnybuns9923 na that's 'FSD boost'....
the thing is it also uses white dwarfs which are shit
Bro, out of all these videos that I've watched, yours was the most explanatory of what I need to do. Thank you!
Mm stands for Megameter = 1000km or 621.37 miles
Kris Zwolak never knew that. I always thought it stood for "Million metres"
Dylan Jennings Also yes, 1000km = 1,000,000m
Kris Zwolak I'm so woke right now
mega is the prefix for million. for example a meganewton of force is one million newtons or a megagram is one million grams = one thousand kilograms
Kris Zwolak AKA Million Meter. 1.000.000 meter.
Excellent guide to the neutron highway. I've always avoided it since it sounded difficult to learn and use but thanks to you, exploring doesn't seem so daunting anymore.
Informative, as it always is. Great video, thx. Good to see you're alive and active 😊
Great channel! I really appreciate your thoughtfulness in the comments and your thorough tutorials. Subscribed!
Well thank you! I know things have been a bit sparse as of late, but hoping to pick things back up soon. Taking an exploration orca out soon, to see what mad science and engineering hath wrought. :p
I wish the light-speed animation was different where you can actually tell you're travelling beyond the normal warp speeds. Perhaps a little bit of sparks from the ship to show it's supercharged or perhaps stars moving passed you at way faster speeds. Little things to make it visually stunning.
@Gone to Bitchute :P Of course. I just couldn't think of the right words to describe THAT magnitude of speed, other than faster than light.
Also dude, i wrote that a year ago.
I kinda wish they'd change the jump effect for the supercharged jumps a bit. So you can actually see that something's different.
I just started this game and this video makes me realise that there's so much left to find out
Thanks for this informative info as a player with 1500 hrs logged I’m still learning and this will help when I make my trip back from Colonia(in my newly stripped back exploraconda) Thanks👍
Awesome, none of the guides i've read even mentioned this. Will give it a try.
I usually set up the full highway as bookmarks before switching to VR. Makes it a lot easier
That a ingenious idea!
Great video, your subs are climbing super fast keep up the great work
Nice video man. I made a run to the core the first year the game was out, i have since taken quite a brake from ED. The neutron stars look completely different now! So thank you again for the video and all the awesome info, think i'll get back into ED again for awhile.
Glad it's something folks are finding useful. ^_^
They've changed the graphics around, there are alien structures and ruins scattered about, and the planetary landings are fun. ... Maybe I should do a video on high-g planetary landings. Hmmmmm
Great video! I've been looking for something like this.
Now that was what I call a good explanation video. Thanks!
This is just what I needed to find!! I had heard you could super boost from a neutron star but wasn't sure how. I flew through the cone a couple times and it just spit me out at the "Operating at dangerous levels" and I never got the message of super charged.
Now with this know how I can get back to the bubble from Colonia a LOT faster!!!!
This was extremely helpful. Thank You
I didn't even know this was possible! Amazing! :)
Neutron stars take more time than ordinary jumps, plus the time to repair with the afmu. I have about 50Ly jump range. I only consider Neutron stars when there aren't enough scoopable stars or my jumponium isn't enough to maks the distance. HEN 2-23 is one of those destinations that needs jumponium and Neutron stars.
I never thought that this kind of travel is even possible in elite.. that's a whole new expirience for me..and a boner for my future business in travelling the stars!
Look buddy, this ain't your personal erotica site... Or IS it?
This type of stuff is something I absolutely love about ELITE and is it's this type of thing that I really hope is included in Star Citizen when it releases.
In 2048 you mean?
Way smoother than I've ever done on that first one. I always find myself flying through the tip of the wings, usually get it in one pass, but never feels right :D
Wow, the neutron star physics look fantastic.
I was doing it wrong, I didn't wait until it said FSD was supercharged, and I was wondering how I couldn't get it to work! Heading out to Colonia just now doing but just doing regular jumps at the moment, but when I head back to the bubble I'll give this a shot. Cheers!
only just started playing. So glad this is a thing
Have been using this method for a long time but still had to watch, usually find something I haven't discovered watching this stuff.
My exploration condo native range is 65ly so boosts to about 255ly when using this method. Still going to see if some more engineering will get a bit more out of it.
Run an afm for sure, I run 3 afm (no mass) a Guardian fsd booster 3D light weight shield srv hanger with one slot.
If you run the top/bottom of the galaxy routing will auto find neutrons 2/3 boosts and then a fuel star no need for the website. Can run 15,000 ly in 50/90 jumps
As an astronomy enthusiast I watch Elite videos in awe. It's a pity that I don't play videogames anymore! Thanks.
dude, what is the fsd jump range on your ship without the supercharge. you must have a damn good fsd for a 252 ly jump with a supercharged fsd
65 ly on a half tank of fuel
Standard un-engineered Anaconda without weapons installed will do 50-53 LY Jump.
My Annie without weapons. No Way.
@@lexrax_tbd My anaconda has 9 ly how can I increase that ?
@@valgo8128 You buy an upgrade for your Frame Shift Drive (FSD). They start from rating E and go to A (E,D,C,B,A). A being the best. So you need a Maximum of a " A grade FSD". You also can engineer your FSD to get even more jump capabilities by tweaking your FSD module via Engineers (Hint: Felicity Farseer). You can also get more of a boost by installing a Guardian FSD Booster, When you have unlocked them. I have a standard Dolphin (A, rated everything) and its got a 49.86 LY Jump capable range with a FSD Engineered to Grade 5 (Felicity Farseer), without the 16t Cargo rack and 1C limpet collector installed.
Yes! I wanted to see this!
Thanks for this! I wish I'd known about this when I did Professor Palin's run. 5000 LY was soooooo boring.
Seems like the learning curve in this game is vast..
It is worth it. o7
Ok. just to make sure I'm gonna do this right. drop into the cone by nosing down? then once i have successfully scooped i drop out of cone by nosing down again to get clear of the cone?
Good Info for us Rookies.
Mostly correct.
(You want to be doing this travelling away from the star)
Gently nose down into the cone. You don't want to hit it at a right angle, or it'll just kick you out again. Think of it like using an on-ramp to merge instead of a left or right turn at an intersection.
The cone will kick you loose. It throws you around like you're being interdicted, and you don't really have control of when you get kicked out. Just make sure you drop in while flying away from the star so you don't get caught in its gravity while in the cone.
ok thanks.
MrMyu is it that easy? man I wish I knew that sooner, but oh well, it IS going to help me jump further to unlock elvira and later that other guy you need to travel 5000 ly away from your starting point
Snoop droop
Very helpful. Much appreciated
Thank you, great tutorial
The fact that the jet cones are visible at correct distances is a fucking mind blow
Thanks for telling the VR thing at the beginning of the video! Alt - tabbing is really annoying in the Oculus -_- ... Cya in the verse!
i use the neutron star super highway from time to time, one time i was on a rescue mission in my skippy to one of the stations attacked by the thargiods, i flew in close to the star like so many times before and the neutron star would not let me go.
i just barely made it out, it cost so much to repair i think the only thing working properly was my headlights haha....
happy flying CMDRs
Like how you explain the excursion zone and the way you fly into it, I've seen a few tutorials where they fly into it rather than fly into it away from the star itself, good tip ! - Also do you have to have the FSD Boost selected to do these massive jumps as I need to get to FIR for the 2 engineers
For the neutron highway, only use the star if its the primary star. You travelling 1000+ls in a system will be slower than just jumping.
Got to try this!
ty for showing and explaining this. I seen people making jumps like that and knew they used the stars somehow. BUt i couldnt figure the rest out.
thanks, great instructional.
cheers
This is wild!
I love shit like this. Thanks, bro. 👍
I had a funny time, where I had a friend who was nee to the game, but apprently had known about this already. He was flying a viper III, and he wanted to keep up with iCurrior's jump range, so of course he tries using a pulsar. He makes it into the system I was heading, and basically he gets stuck there. He had to buy an adder to get enough jump range to escape.
I just unlocked palin... this should help shorten the trip no?... or are the nearest neutron stars farther out than that?
That is super cool just learned this now lololol🤣🤣🤣 thank you 😊
Look at that thing 6:54
That's so crazy, it's just...everything about it. I can't find the words for it.
Yeah. A beam of radiation intense enough to turn you green and angry at twenty light years, and I immediately decide "hey, I should jump into that and push my engines!"
It would be inhuman to not do that.
You guys got it easy I’m doing this on Xbox no copy and paste have to type everything is such a pain in the ass
Jesus that jump range! O_o
Theirs a easy way to do that.. When you enter the system after coming out of Hyperspace, set throttle to 0 INSTANTLY. Manouver your ship using the Docking thrusters and point the front of your ship towards the end of the corona/Tail of the Neutron star cone (Head away from Neutron Star). Gently head towards the tail at a slow speed and enter it. As soon as you enter it , KILL YOUR THROTTLE and wait for it to say " Frame Shift Drive , Supercharged " and then POWER out of it and head away from the Neutron star as quick as possible. BEWARE though sometimes the Neutron star will put you towards it from within the Tail when supercharging your FSD.
Next stop: the Andromeda galaxy!
great. at just 2.5 Mly maybe if you catch the plume of a quasar.
What numbers did you use to get those HUD colors?
Even just watching this gives me anxiety. Those jet cones are terrifying.
When I flew near one of those my ship temp went over 100 degrees, about 134C and in Sidewinder I believe or Cobra. Fortunately made out alive.Oh and it pulled me out of cruise...
Was it a neutron star, or a white dwarf? WDs are a lot hotter, and it's a lot harder to get lined up with the jet cones. The gravity step is almost as big as the cone. Oh, and they only give a 50% jump boost instead of 400%!
I avoid white dwarf stars like the plague.
It's my first week in the game, so I didn't have idea of neutron stars and white dwarfs. It was white dwarf, had to google one because from my memory it looked similar to neutron star and I thought white dwarfs are something else. :P Thanks for the video btw!
Just to add, I approached like far edge of it and I was getting insane temperatures, possibly because I was out of cruise.
Well, welcome to the game, and enjoy your stay!
The nearest Neutron Star to the bubble of human-inhabited space is a system called Jackson's Lighthouse, around 175 ly from the Sol system. The biggest difference is that Neutron Stars look tiny. They look like a little dot firing those same beams out, where a White Dwarf still looks like a star. A small one, but an absolute pain in the butt of a star -_-;
Thanks, hopefully will! Well this one was around beginner area with horizon start, somewhere around Styx system. Will have to go back there and check out what the hell it is, it's quite confusing from memory, as this one wasn't big as star.. dunno. Thanks for taking time to reply. Have a good one.
Thank you
What is the best entrance, charging, and exit speeds? Great video! How about "double charging"?
Entrance speed can vary to anywhere between 30 kps on up to 0.2c Charging and exit speeds seem to be moot, as you start getting moved along with the flow of the jet. As for double-charging, I've not tried it yet. I know it's simple enough in principle: Fly very very close to the jet without jumping in, aimed at your target. Charge your drive for jump, but only throttle up at the very last moment. The countdown will take you through the jet and re-charge the jump.
Like I said, I've never tried it. Once I get home I'll get back on that and see if I can pull it off in an easily reproducible manner.
MrMyu Very cool! Thanks, made my first safe jump (took some damage the first try, but afmu fixed most), when approaching at 5-10MM.
Please let me know. I'm rookie enough to kill myself trying. I was told, by another rookie (for what it's worth), the sequence was 1) charge, 2) get out safe distance, 3) spin up fsd but Hold It by under-throttle, 4) re enter and charge again, 5) get clear and jump. Supposedly, when you arrive, you have the second charge ready. May save some time of approaching the second Neutron?
Why do the exclusion zones act odd, rarely showing up? What's the trick to get them to show?
Nice ship. We on Xbox are jealous of your computer colors and such! Any advice for VR?
Thanks, Commander! o7
5-10 mm/sec is a good speed.
As far as I know, the double-charge doesn't work until you start the jump and fly through the cone. But the Cone will spin you around if you're inside, so you can't set up a stable alignment. So you have to be lined up so that you're in countdown as you're flying through the cone. If you're in countdown, the jet can't shove you around, you've used the charge up, and you're gaining a new one at the same time.
Not sure on the jets. It's a question of speed, and angle on the bow of your ship. Most of the time it shows up. Especially just after jumping into the system. I may have been too far off with the one I was approaching that I misjudged where I thought it would appear. Usually I'm only a couple light seconds away instead of coming up on them from several thousand away.
As for VR, I use a vive and loving it. (I just can't record videos with it since it's way too jittery for outside viewers)
Fly safe ^^
MrMyu can you please share this UI color scheme ? i really love this one its very calm looking.
wow i never knew that is possible. always stay clear off those because off the danger
I made first thousands light years missions (2 at once - one was something like 2000 another around 10k) it took me 3 days... each day 3 hours of boring flying... I was dying... I was doing 30 ly max each jump with Python... thanks for this video i will definately have to tried it.
My question is only - do i need to have any upgrades for the FSD? For example with the Engineer Felicity Farseer - shielded and faster boot sequence?
I've seen zero use for shielded FSD or faster boot sequence. The only FSD upgrades I've ever used are the longer range enhancements. They make travel time so much easier that I can't think of anything else I'd use.
Hey great video! What are the color settings for your ship? i really want to set mine to the same as you!
Red: 0, 0.2, 0.8
Green: 0, 0.6, 0
Blue: 1, 0.3, 0.18
if you had 20+ly jump range you'll get only around 100-109 ly jump boost. so make sure you have 40 ly or atleast 30 ly jump range to get more jump boost.
how did you make your display blue
Can someone tell me what you do with this ?? Is it just to get different systems or is it for passengers??
It's for fast travel. Quadruples your jump distance. My personal record is getting to the other side of the galaxy in 11 hours, and that's nowhere near the actual record. Just helpful for getting from point A to B in a hurry.
How did you get a alternate AI voice in your ship?
First you need VoiceAttack. You can get that from Steam for around $11-12 USD, or you can get it from www.voiceattack.com for around $10 USD.
After that, you need a voicepack from www.hcsvoicepacks.com. They're a company that makes custom ship AI voices recorded by William Shatner, Tom Baker, BRIAN BLESSED, etc. (I went with the ALIX interface)
If HCS packs are a little more pricey than you'd like, you can find a few free packs here and there with some searching. Reddit, frontier's forums, etc. If you have a decent recording setup, or access to a sound library, you can make your own ship voice pack. I did a quick tutorial here: ruclips.net/video/yG_mSknjjkc/видео.html
One of these days I'm going to get around to making a Mister Torgue pack from the Borderlands 2 library they made available...
I'm on PS4 but thanks anyways.
Honestly, you could make some really funny voicepacks with that.
I love how BRIAN BLESSED is capitalized, given the volume that guy talks at it seems appropriate :D
It sounds like the EVA unit GDI uses in Tiberian Sun!
I didn't know about this but its pretty cool. I would say from a game-play mechanic perspective, it would make more sense to have to press the hyperspace while caught up in the jet to get the benefit. Seems a but weird to be able to make the jump after you leave the jet.
Don't think of it as the jet actually propelling you (because its not). Think of it as being bathed in vast amounts of energy and a large amount of power being forced to your FSD and overcharging it, enabling a longer jump.
Your FSD is still doing the propulsion. The jets are "merely" a source of extra power, rather than propulsion. Hence the reason the starting jump range of your FSD being a determining factor in how far this will actually get you.MrMyu's ship has a starting range of over 60ly. You're not getting a 250ly jump out of a 20ly capable FSD.
I still have yet to successfully pull this off lol. One day
Do you generally try to "correct" while in the cone, or just hands off the controls once you've lined up & dropped in?
I try to correct, for what it's worth. It's not terribly noticeable, but a bit of kick to the rudder or some pitch and roll can keep you pointing the right way. If you just let Jesus take the wheel, you've got a better chance of getting flipped around and then you're flying TOWARDS the star. Heavier ships respond better, and it's still not the most responsive then, but better than nothing.
Wish I had known about this earlier today. Passed by one on a 60 jump trip to unlock an engineer and could have cut most of it out.
Imagine being 3000 light years out in some random system, doing something highly dangerous, only to say “Don’t Try This At Home”🙃
I don't have a neutron star at home to try it with! 😉
Great vid! Does this also work with white dwarfs? Also, do you have to fly up into the cone? I tried just flying through at a 90 degree angle and it activated boost. Does your method give increased boost?
It's a weaker boost with white dwarf stars. A 1.5x boost instead of 4x. And yeah, you have to fly through the jet cone, but the borders are variable.
Thanks!
Coming back to these now and I'm still quite green. So what exactly does a supercharged jump change from a regular jump? Do they allow you to make jumps to far more distant points, or just use up far less fuel to get to the same point?
Both. It makes your drive super-efficient for one jump, so you can jump 4x normal range, or make a normal jump and it just sips from the fuel tank instead of a big gulp. I have an explorer with a 70 light year jump, and one super-jump can get me up to 280 LY in one go.
@@MrMyu I'm keeping my travels pretty close by - I had a bad run some years back which saw me almost dead in the water with no fuel or ammo.
I'll probably attempt this at some point if I really want to get around, but how do you know exactly how far you can actually jump to with a boosted FSD? I imagine it's not as simple as the push of a button and takes some number crunching.
@@an_ordinary_goose if you go to the right panel in your ship and go to the ship one, goto the statistics tab and it will show your current boosted range. also be very careful with some as the zone is very close and sometimes can kill you.
A bit late but i'm new to this game, any chance you can still share your color matrix pls? your hud is lit. And many thanks for the neutron highway tutorial. Well needed to save a lot of travelling time.
The closer i can get is red : 0, 0.3, 1; Green 0, 0.3, 0; blue 1, 0.5, 0.5
So that matrix was pretty well shot after a few game updates broke it, but this is the one I'm currently using, and it's fairly close.

Great guide Cmdr o7
Does this work with the base version of Elite: Dangerous? Or do I need Horizons?
As far as I know it works with the base game. You only need horizons for the engineered jump drive and other modules. But it'll supercharge any drive.
hahaha, whatching this on my xbox.. when he jumped the first time I was expecting my controller to rumble 😆
I done this a couple of weeks ago but was immediately sucked in and couldn't break loose from the star . Absolutely destroyed my cobra in 20 secs ! I still have nightmares !
So, he got a "Jetlag"..ehehe
Hey great video. I've never seen the cones move and spiral like that before. Do only certain neutron stars do that or all?
All neutron stars do it, but the speed and angle is super-variable between them.
How do you find these neutron stars so quick?
Sorry, I am fairly new to this game but love it so far.
Hmmm, But when I pop out of hyperdrive i am right on top of the damn blue star and all kinds of warnings are going off and I am overheating immediately. How do you pop out further away? Cmdr.Kiki Pitts
There are two types of boost star: White Dwarf (WD) stars are the ones that overheat you immediately. And they're harder to maneuver around, and they're harder to get into the jet cone, AND they don't boost as much. I always ignore or filter them out of my course plotting. Neutron Stars (NS) are much more powerful, but also easier to maneuver around, because they're tiny. Maybe 3km across.
Whoaaa, that's pretty legit
What if you just used a premium fsd boost and then use the star? Would it stack?
Good question, and unfortunately no. They don't stack. There used to be a similar technique where you could charge if you started your jump in the jet, but that double charge was patched out quite a bit back.
How do you get a blue colored HUD? I am stuck with an orange colored one...
This is a PC and possibly Mac Hack as far as I know; it doesn't work for consoles. You can download a program called ED Profiler here www.drkaii.com/tools/edprofiler/, and it will give you a bunch of preset color options. You can also manually enter your own colors in to the RGB options from the same program.
My blue color matrix looks like this:
Red: 0, 0.2, 0.8
Green: 0, 0.6, 0
Blue: 1, 0.3, 0.18
Click "apply" and you're set.
Aww, I hope they at least allow HUD color customization as a part of the game in the future. Maybe make it a dynamic HUD, where colors change depending of the situation (one color for flying, one for combat, one for emergency, etc). Thanks though! :)
:O we have the same ship name, auto subscribed
Thanks for this tutorial. Just curious, I see you finely tuned your ship for long term exploration but why have you used 40t on the fighter bay: has it proven useful outside the bubble?
Every once in a while it's nice to get out and do some high-speed flying in some canyons, or go zipping along the surface without putting the mothership at risk. Fighter bays have so many reloads... you lose a couple fighters, you've still got a half dozen to pull off the rack. You lose a couple SRVs... well... hope you didn't need to scoop anything else.
@@MrMyu Ok so: 1 - replaces collector limpet 2- sanity insurance on long trips.. got it! I'm planning for distant worlds 2 and slowly washing the noobness fron my pilot suit.. lol . I have a Conda with 59 Ly range , 2 srv's , 1 fighter (x6) and 2 fmu's ; similar to your build but with less engineering . Should be good to go
@@simonl7784 Sounds like a good setup!
How do you make it looked so controlled in the cone? I go in pretty far away from the star to be safe, but for the life of me it's like I have no controls and am at the mercy of the star not pullling me in and death
It may be my angle of entry. I try to fly down the axis of the cone rather than across it. I've noticed that has a more violent effect, and a much greater chance of complications, crashes, death, death-like symptoms, etc.
sooo basicly it enchants your jump distance?
Yeah. Neutron stars give you a 4x multiplier, White Dwarf Stars give a 1.5x multiplier. Covered 10,000 light years in an afternoon with it. And I wasn't exactly flying all-out to do it.
That's not the fault of the route, that's the fault of me: I had gone off the path a few hundred light years to check out an unexplored system that looked interesting on the map.
The router only takes systems where the arrival star is a neutron star, so at most you're flying 10 LS. I saw this system, explored, realized I was in a good position to make a tutorial, and made a spur-of-the-moment decision to use the B star to get back on track.
@@MrMyu so are you able to fly without jumping, from on system to another
@@swannsexotiks No. Technically in the game you are switching "instances" of that system.
There are some stations that are .21 light years out from arrival point and take over an hour of in system cruising to get there. For The Mug!
But others have flown for hours and been in the same system.
It does say "> 1 year" in distance at in system speeds. No ship has the fuel for that anyway.
ok that's pretty neat
