Pirates of the Caribbean is a series of fantasy swashbuckler films produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and based on Walt Disney's theme park attraction of the same name. The film series serves as a major component of the eponymous media franchise.
Directors of the series include Gore Verbinski (films 1-3), Rob Marshall (4), Joachim Rønning, and Espen Sandberg (5). The series is primarily written by Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio (1-4); other writers include Stuart Beattie (1), Jay Wolpert (1), Jeff Nathanson (5), Craig Mazin (6). The stories follow the adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley). Characters such as Hector Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) and Joshamee Gibbs (Kevin McNally) follow Jack, Will and Elizabeth in the course of the films. The fourth film features Blackbeard (Ian McShane) and Angelica (Penélope Cruz), while the fifth film features Armando Salazar (Javier Bardem), Henry Turner (Brenton Thwaites) and Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario). The films take place in a fictionalized historical setting; a world ruled by the British Empire, the East India Trading Company (based on the real East India Trading Company) and the Spanish Empire, with pirates representing freedom from the ruling powers.
The film series started in 2003 with Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, which received positive reviews from critics and grossed US$654 million worldwide.[1] After the first film's success, Walt Disney Pictures revealed that a film series was in the works. The franchise's second film, subtitled Dead Man's Chest, was released three years later in 2006; the sequel proved successful, breaking financial records worldwide the day of its premiere. Dead Man's Chest ended up being the number one film of the year upon earning almost $1.1 billion at the worldwide box office. The third film in the series, subtitled At World's End, followed in 2007 earning $960 million, and Disney released a fourth film, subtitled On Stranger Tides, in 2011 in conventional 2D, Digital 3-D and IMAX 3D. On Stranger Tides succeeded in also grossing more than $1 billion,[1] becoming the second film in the franchise and only the eighth film in history to achieve this.
The franchise has grossed over $4.5 billion worldwide;[1] it is the 14th-highest-grossing film series of all time, and is the first film franchise to produce two or more movies that grossed over $1 billion.
Pirates of the Caribbean is a dark ride at Disneyland, Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Park at Disneyland Paris, and Shanghai Disneyland.
The ride tells the story of a band of pirates in the West Indies islands around the Caribbean Sea in the 17th and 18th centuries with the saga of their voyages, troubles, and exploits. The original version of the ride was opened at the original Disneyland, in Anaheim, California, near Los Angeles, in 1967, and was the last ride whose construction was envisioned and personally overseen by Walt Disney, who died three months before it opened. After immense popularity, the ride was replicated seven years later at the Magic Kingdom of Walt Disney World, near Orlando, Florida, soon after it opened, in 1973. Versions followed at Tokyo Disneyland in 1983, and at Disneyland Paris in 1992. Each of the initial four versions of the ride has a different façade but a similar ride experience. A reimagined version of the ride influenced by the visitors' familiarity with the worldwide success of the feature film series, Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure, opened at the Shanghai Disneyland Park in 2016.
The ride gave rise to the song "Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me)" written by George Bruns and Xavier Atencio, and performed on the ride's recording by The Mellomen.[1] The ride became the basis for the Pirates of the Caribbean film series, which debuted in 2003. Since 2006, Disney has incorporated characters from the film series into the Disneyland, Magic Kingdom, Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris versions of the rides. - Авто/Мото
I remember building these as a kid after riding Pirates of the Caribbean at Disney World in the 70’s! I love that Round 2 / Lindberg finally released them again.
Thanks, grab them and enjoy!
Love when you do these - so much fun to see all the extras included.
Glad you like them!
A FABULOUS build job!!... They look Just like they are fighting to the death for the treasure and booty!!... Keep up the great work Bud!!
Cathartic relief. TYVM
Thanks for watching!
Always love when ya do this kind of kit, Chris! It'll be 3 years next month since you started the pirates and now that they're all available it's a bummer the series is over. Looking forward to the Haunted Mansion kits. It would be nice if Round 2 reissued the "Strange Change" series of Vampire, Mummy and Time Machine. Not Zap-Action, but rubber bands play a big part in these as well. You'll always be the Ambassador of Fun no matter WHAT you're sharing with us!
That's the plan! Thanks for watching!
Good comment
A lot of nicely detailed parts with this kit...
Another amazing build, Chris. What a way to end the Pirate series. The detail of these kits never ceases to amaze me. Really looking forward to the Haunted Mansion series. I ordered the Tamiya Ford Mustang from model roundup. I will rewatch the video a few times so I can do the model correctly. Thanks again Chris for such a specular build and video 👍👍. Have a great weekend.
Thanks a bunch!

Thank you for taking the time to share these videos and your building and detailing techniques. You do an outstanding job bringing these kits to life.
Thank you very much!
Man this is so appropriately named but I hope it's not the last one like it you do I have really enjoyed every time you done one these Kits, you always do such an awesome job on them.
Glad you enjoy it!
Thanks for posting this! I just got my copy a few days ago. This was the only one of the original "Pirates of the Caribbean" series that I did not get "back in the day," and as with the others, I'm grateful that I had a second chance to build them. (Especially with 40 years of painting skills under my belt between then and now . . . .) These are fine kits, indeed.
Very cool!
Those kits are nice. At the same time, evey good things have an end.
Yes they are!
Fabulous, great watching you do these and love the story's that go with them
Glad you enjoy it!

Thanks for watching!
I had the original of Dismay be the end and the Hex marks the spot in 1972, I played with it until the knife broke! But, alas, I missed the reproduction of the only kit no longer found anywhere, mi favorite one, Hex marks the spot. I have looked at many a site, but can't find anywhere. 😒 But at lest I've snagged the other 6. Your techniques really are quite a help, since I haven't built anything that needs weathering until recently. Bought 7 ships off ebay in early December for my birthday and for Christmas from me to me. Among which the 1:72 Black Pearl will arrive in Feb straight from Russia. I have subscribed and watch many of your vids. Thank you so much for sharing your skills, helping us "noobs" to successfully display realistic and great looking models.
Thanks for the fantastic video , sending u all the best from South Africa :)

Nice job, getting fancy on the turntable I see Lol 👍
You know it!
Chris says "pearl necklace" and I waiting for ZZ Top! lol
LOL!
Great work (fun), I was thinking getting a uv led into the lamp so the panels of the lamp would illuminate.
Thanks for watching, good idea!
Very nice review of this! These aren't really my style, but I enjoy your videos and I like your technique a lot. Thanks for the tip on using Folk Art pavement for wrought iron. Very clever!
Awesome, thank you!
“Arg”, give me, me crumbs, ya crumb”! Hahahahaha! You remember what that was from? You look old enough to remember when that came out Chris.., those Pirates from those old commercials always cracked me up, back then! Oh well, anyways, cool job Chris man! As always buddy!
Classic!
I really enjoyed watching you build this one! I have all the pirate kits, too. I've built 'Hex Marks the Spot', so far. I love the background music, as well as the backstory. I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll be doing with the rest of the 'Haunted Manor' series. --Cindi aka Granny Glue-Sniffer
Thanks, I loved the first Mansion kit and am pumped for the two they've sent!
I already chose the the pirate head in my kit.
I bought AMT'S re-issued big rig semi trailer in 1/25th scale,a few days ago.I have cleaned off all the parts;and have already started sub assemblies.I already know what Rustoleum & craft paint colors I want to use to build it.I have not decided wether or not I want to weather it;to simulate a trailer that is a little used and beat up;but not heavily used to the point the trailer is sent to the scrap yard.I have three completed tractors to hitch this trailer to when it is completed.I have a Kenworth W900 Aerodyne from Revell, and two cabovers Mack Cruiseliner, and GMC Astro 95 COEs;both from AMT.
Love it!!!! Requesting an A10 Warthog build, please.
Noted!
A Handsome Schmuck... 😆!!
Hi..im not able to get either of the arms working..any help u can give me would be appreciated.Thank you.
A pirate in a past life
Thanks man!
I think that the skeleton on the treasure chest is going to win. 💀
Me too!
I love these pirate kits. Sad that it's the end of the series.
16:57 anyone know the music name? i want to use it in my videos sometime
Round 2 is re doing the Haunted Mansion kits...hope you will cover those too❤👍
I've done one on here, loved it. Two on the way, in my hands now.
I like how the painting music fits the build. It makes me think of pirates rowing a ship singing rowing songs.
Are you thinning out the Acrylic paints? Are you getting brushstrokes without thinning?
No thinning, I get strokes at first but craft paints level out well if left alone.
Awesome build as usual! I found this kit just the other day at wally mart! Glad to see models back in the big stores again! I also saw a lot of car models and car accessory models there too. Check it out! I used to pick up a bunch of em from kmart. Gonna use alot of your techniques on mine. Hopefully it turns out half as good as yours!😁
👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
👍 👍 👍 👍 👍
Thanks for watching!
Nice job as usual. One comment though, I thought the marks on the base were “peg” marks from the peg leg pirate, no? 👍
Could be, they are coins now!
Great job on these kits! Love the fact that these and the Haunted Mansion kits are coming back..Just curious..What's the Pirate song you play on this?
Great job Chris you must have been a
What I have spent over the years to get the original set, and now these too... hmm. At least the boxes are different.
Build em up and display with the older boxes behind them! Best of both worlds.
Mr Crabby Pants should have been a Maryland Blue Crab.
You are welcome to paint yours any way you desire.
If I buy this model kit I'll go with a Pirate Face.
Better get it fast, these are disappearing from the internet and amazon to be gone for good. I missed out on these since I just found out about them las month!
Thought you were going to say that you had shot the parrot with a shotgun ;-)
Figures cars boats rucks tanks planes oh my...
Thanks for watching!
Looks like the Pirates are cursed!
Arrrrr
@@hpiguy Aye!
The sand lacks, the parrot is wooden, and the vestments are horrible -unlike the original box-. Anyhow the technic is enviable certainly.
lol @ 7 minutes in i bet you didn't realize what you said "his arm goes up with a loaded rubber band" about the arm with the gun lol as in he has a loaded rubber band gun
