I have a slight hole in my left ear drum since I was 14. I was smacked in the ear by a watch Lol. It’s healed a lot since then, but man. Using this feature today truly made me feel happy. It’s a feeling I can’t explain. Almost like life is new again I can’t begin to understand what it may feel like to actually be deaf.
Does it improve the muffled nature of transparency? That's the only thing I don't like about that mode. It sounds amazing but it's slightly muffled. I was hoping this would increase the clarity and volume without sounding artificial.
The hearing test is ok, not perfect. It definitely mirrors the clinical test I got when I was diagnosed with hearing loss in the left ear, though with minor differences. Should be fine as they say for light to moderate hearing loss, and I did try it out, but I noticed some amplified frequencies it didn't need to amplify.
Is this unsupported on the SE 3 for everyone? I can't get it to show up during setup or in Settings but there's no documentation saying it's incompatible since the SE 3 runs iOS 18
You will need to be on iOS 18.1, which should come out next Monday. Plus, you’ll need to be on the new firmware for AirPods Pro (7B19), which should also be out next week.
i have 18.1 rc on my iphone 15 pro and airpods pro 2nd gen….but still not able to get this feature….can anyone help?/ I am from India but i have set my regiom to US… so i have apple intelligence features but not this one… why?
I'm the same, I have read that they need to be on 7B19 but I've tried to update and they are still on 9B13d, I assume it might be a rolling roll out for the firmware.
I had -2 in my left ear and 0 in my right ear. Does this mean that my left ear is slightly better than what’s considered normal? And my right ear is perfectly normal? I wish they would do a little better job explaining what the results actually mean.
The hearing aid feature is really good, however I have an ear infection and I wouldn’t like to clog up AirPods, hopefully this feature comes to the next AirPods Maxes

These features are definitely life changing for people. Can’t wait to try this out!
Just did this. Extremely useful
This is a great video and detailed explanation. Thanks
as usual you are the best
If no media is playing the volume sliders would be a great way to adjust amplification for each ear .......
This works on my regular AirPod pros also and AirPod 3rd gen

Fantastic summary. Just the right level of detail. Great pacing. You guys are rapidly becoming my favorite Apple content creators.
is the hearing aid just for the pro 2 USB-C version, or for both the pro 2 lightning version and USB-C
Either
It doesn’t matter

@@JTech22 I am on the RC and beta AirPods firmware
@@lynxcat4life Weird. I wonder if it’s a region based issue or a bug in the RC. Try doing a restart.

Is this a US only feature?
@@stew.c looks like it
You do not need AirPods beta in order to test this. All you need is 18.1 RC.
