The concrete corn field reminded me of one of my favorite roadside attractions in South Dakota, the world’s only corm palace in Mitchell. You were probably too late in the year, as they start to remove the corn cobs after Labor Day. What is it? It’s the community gymnasium used by Wesleyan college in town. It has marquees on the two sides facing streets that they put murals on every year, murals made of corn. The murals have all colors of corn and are done in a different theme ever. There is adis-lay inside of past murals and of people involved in the project. And, of course, there’s souvenirs to buy, but it’s all a community project and profits go to the community.
Oh you guys made me chuckle when you were visiting Old Ben and yes, I did laugh a bit. Then I heard Kalyn say steer again. What a fabulous WIFI name for the campground. Love watching y’all do your daily stuff. Love that tire inflator so much. And yes, I know it was an ad. It was a great one. I love gadgets like that since I loved working on cars when I was a kid. Oh my, I lived in a Santa Fe town growing up and I used to hear them all the time. It was the most reassuring sound when I’d wake up from a nightmare. Had to look up the “corn” field since I live in Ohio. You mentioned tombstones Joseph and I found this: “Ghostly sentinels of an agricultural past. Cochran planted his white corn in regimented rows, suggesting, he said, the rows of identical white tombstones in a military cemetery. In this way, said Cochran, the ears of corn represented people, and the overall artwork memorialized the loss of agriculture in the face of suburban sprawl.” That is kind cool. The eternal flame was so cool. It might be my favorite oddity though Big Ben was cool. The dragon was cool too. Now I looked up all the oddities near us and I think I might take my husband to see some. He’s never been to Jungle Jim’s in Fairfield (or the new one in Eastgate) so I think that will be a nice day trip for us. Then there are some other places to check out I’ve never been to or heard of and I have lived in Ohio for 38 years. Amazing how you can get that rig parked Joseph. Okay third time is charm. Great Video!!! Thanks for going to the Eternal Flame. That was way to cool. Corn field I have to say has to be the wackiest attraction of them all. Enjoy your time with Family and have a great Thanksgiving.
I live by the Dublin concrete corn field and love it. I had heard that the Dublin Arts Council had some extra money in their budget that year and they decided to do that.
You don’t like “Joe” jobs because they take longer then they should! We don’t like 10 minute jobs for the same reason! They usually take hours or days! Thanks for all this video! Looking forward to more!!!
I did the same thing I put everything in my wife’s cupholder but now with the new truck, I got more storage. Then I know what to do. when you pull that drone over sitting there looking at that he just hit that thing
Poor spider😢... You're already pulled them out of the way you should have just let him go. You could have put your fifth wheel at a storage place for a couple days and then just stayed at your parents.. it'll be fun fixing the lawn in the spring LOL Nice to see that you still in contact with some people from the church when you grew up. Also we are now living in the Kokomo area, we live out in the county, I work on the Northwest side of Kokomo, about 4 miles North of Highland park, I ran the Old Ben 5k run a few times since we been here!!!! Safe travels!
Ben also looks like a Jersey bull, just in case anyone was wondering? 😋I agree, this is a very "whacky" attraction. I have to say, my dad never taxidermied any of our passed on bulls! 😵💫🤯😳
Ah, I was wondering where in New York y’all were from. I was born in Cortland, NY and my family moved us to Louisiana in 1977 when I was 10. I still have family that lives in Cortland, Homer and Ithaca.
I live in Ohio, not that far from Dublin, but have never been to the corn. You are so right many things in your backyard to see. My roommate in College freshman year was from a farm outside Binghamton, NY.
The species is Bovine. Bulls are male bovines. Cows are female bovines that are breeding age. Baby bovines are calves. Neutered bulls are steers. Young female calves are called heifers. Hope this helps. Best Wishes
The funny thing is - I grew up in the country next to a dairy farm and my grandfather was a 3 or 4 generation farmer. All to say… I knew this. But somehow…when the camera was rolling the word that came out of my mouth was “cow” and “male cow” 😂😂😂 -J
@OpenRoading Well, I grew up on a wheat farm and for years afterwards when I called my Dad I'd ask him how many cows he had. He would always say something like 23 cows and 2 bulls. Then I would say, so you have 25 cows. I finally pinned him down on the exact meanings. So, you probably knew at a younger age than I did. Anyway, always enjoy your videos. Thanks for your answer. For ne, it feels like a movie star responded to me, seriously. Thank you.
So jealous! My Viair doesn't have that connection, I have to jump it. Ya'll are fancy! lol BTW J I geeked out at the train shot. Watched it 3 times. Were you afraid you'd lose the camera??

Oh my goodness did you ever tear up the grass getting into Kaylen‘s parents yard oops. thanks for another really fun video that makes you laugh and shake your head at the same time.😂❤
We left a couple of tire tracks in their yard the last couple of times... this time was a whole other level of utter destruction. I'm thinking I'm just going to fly Kalyn up there next time and I'll just stay with the RV with Trinity so I don't do that again. 😂 -J
Great Video!!! Thanks for going to the Eternal Flame. That was way to cool. Corn field I have to say has to be the wackiest attraction of them all. Enjoy your time with Family and have a great Thanksgiving.
Thanks so much! Happy Thanksgiving to you as well! -J
Joseph, when you were at the dragon, how did you refrain from doing the Beavis "Fire, fire, fire" voice?
Love the eternal flame but adore the dragon!
Still enjoying the videos 👍
Happy Thanksgiving.
Yay! Thanks for stopping by every Friday! -J
Been waiting for this one :)! Pastor B and family are stars on two RVer channels now!
The drone now has a name!!!... Excalibur!!!
It appears that Excalibur doesn’t slay every dragon… but it tries. 😂 -J
Whenever I get ‘backed up’, a bit of coffee and 30 minutes on the Stairmaster and I’m a good boy 😂 Fun vid guys!
I did the same thing I put everything in my wife’s cupholder but now with the new truck, I got more storage. Then I know what to do. when you pull that drone over sitting there looking at that he just hit that thing
Kalyn get's so mad (understandably) because I toss everything in her cup holder. Keys... coins... earbud case. You name it... boom, her cupholder. -J
@ 😂😂😂 same here it has to be a man thing lol
Poor spider😢... You're already pulled them out of the way you should have just let him go.
You could have put your fifth wheel at a storage place for a couple days and then just stayed at your parents.. it'll be fun fixing the lawn in the spring LOL
Nice to see that you still in contact with some people from the church when you grew up.
Free salvation can be found at: 1st Corinthians 15: 1-4, Romans 10:9,10, John3: 15-17.. it's a free gift not by works Ephesians 2:8,9
God bless you and yours and all my brothers and sisters across the world! 😇
I have a hate hate relationship with spiders... 😂 I know they take care of bugs, but not around me.
We like living in our house as much as possible - but we'll have to see if we do that again next time. Last time we didn't tear up the yard like that... 👀 -J
The Dragon is cool, we are originally from Central Illinois and go to St Louis, Kansas City and Springfield, MO frequently and have never been there!!! Also we are now living in the Kokomo area, we live out in the county, I work on the Northwest side of Kokomo, about 4 miles North of Highland park, I ran the Old Ben 5k run a few times since we been here!!!! Safe travels!
Love the excitement you both have!
Such a fun video! Love it and glad your drone survived!
Those tokens look like canadian loonies
Fun vlog guys! Thank you😊
Ben also looks like a Jersey bull, just in case anyone was wondering? 😋I agree, this is a very "whacky" attraction. I have to say, my dad never taxidermied any of our passed on bulls! 😵💫🤯😳
Destroyed that beautiful lawn. I'd be pissed
Haha - and you’d have every right to be! Planning on making sure everything looks as good as new in the spring! -J
I can't believe you skipped the KokoMantis.
This is like Lucy and Dezi in the Long Long Trailer. 😂
Ah, I was wondering where in New York y’all were from. I was born in Cortland, NY and my family moved us to Louisiana in 1977 when I was 10. I still have family that lives in Cortland, Homer and Ithaca.
Kalyn grew up in Homer/Cortland. We met when my family moved there in the late 90s 😀
Joe Project 😂 love it!! But you can honestly insert any man’s name!!!😂
Ohio-Largest producer of cement corn…..😂🤣😂good one, Joseph! Thanks for taking us along!
Getting the dog to poop when you need it!! 😮 Only a fellow RV’ing pet parent would understand!! 👍😉
welcome home to you!! what was your favorite wacky feature? im guessing dragon for J and fire for K?
Thank you.
I Love the KOA. look what you did to the grass.. geessss
Yeah.... It's a good thing my in-laws like me. Or at least they did. I may have used up all my good will on this stopover. 👀 -J
We have had far too many 'Joe Projects'! :-D
It's so interesting to see locals in the colder areas wearing short sleeves, when the rest of us from warmer climates are bundled up 😏
#9 is my favorite fire and water 💧
Loved this video
Of course Trinity was cool with Ben. She is a Catahoula cow dog. Lol
As a parent, I would think when you leaving. LOL But real glad you came.
Eternal flame was best. only a mom and dad would overlook that lawn damage. lol
What did that spider ever do to you?
built a house on my RV! -J
@ Spiders eat mosquitoes.
I wish someone would go to the field of dreams site. I plan on taking my teardrop next year
Go Bills!
Hi from Endwell NY. Didn't know you were from here.Watch you guys all the time.
So jealous! My Viair doesn't have that connection, I have to jump it. Ya'll are fancy! lol BTW J I geeked out at the train shot. Watched it 3 times. Were you afraid you'd lose the camera??
I'm currently on the road camping, watching you guys camping, haha!😊
I don't think there is another cement corn cob anywhere 🤔
This is the Corniest video I've ever seen! We went to the Wild RV Life meet up last weekend. Hope to do the same with you guys soon.
I hope you guys are in my neck of the woods in Florida when you get here! Would love to love on Cody and meet you guys.
I WAS BORN IN QUEENS AND GREW UP ON LONG ISLAND
Nice!! We grew up in Central NY and lived in the southern tier for our growing up years. -J
I got one for you in Wisconsin. Dr. Evermor and his Forevertron.
Holy smokes! That thing is a beast! -J
@@OpenRoading And that's just the large main attraction. There are acres more full of smaller creations he did.
Was there something else on display next to Old Ben? Looked like there was a 2nd building? 😅 really enjoy your videos!!!
Ok . She's probably over observent but just watched the full video .. My wife is in tears .. she's concerned for Cody .. please please ... Let the little bun bun be ok
He’s still with us and very much cared for. He is approaching 10 years old and we feel so lucky to have had longer with him than we expected after his diagnosis a year ago. He still seems happy but we can also tell his tumors are progressing. He drools a lot so we don’t put him on camera all that much that’s why he’s not seen a lot. -J
@OpenRoading .. we found your videos over a year ago and it motivated us to retire the tent and get a camper of our own. I'm sorry about Cody he's family after a sibling long .. we've loved your videos for over a years now.. she watches just for Trinity and Cody.. Thanks for sharing your adventures ... We really appreciate them
Killing the spider was absolutely unacceptable.
My spidey told me it was an evil spider as opposed to the good ones. -J
Can you identify it? There are very few evil spiders in the US. and I don't think any live in the northeast.
You have very nice parents-I would be telling my daughter to hit the campgrounds 😂-I sure hope you appreciate them ❤
I sure do! I think they would actually rather me stay in their yard-it’s closer! 🥰 -K
If you put an elbow on the water connection it would not strain the outlet nor the hose. I think you can find them on etrailer!😂
