My husband was the Chief Engineer during the development of this system before retiring in 1985. It is amazing that it is still in use in 2015 in Iraq against ISIS.

wow. I've been working to get similar function in a pod model I'm working on for harvesting garbage from local creeks with my quad. I've got a ways to go to get this sort of thing working. I'm really open to help from you MilTypes that work with the real thing. I have a personal dislike of litter in the local wild areas and am interested in scanning and targeting for IR sensitive retrieval units. I've got a barge that can attach inflatable bags to things like bikes and carts, and i'm starting to look at waypoint missioning. I'm just an rc designer builder and pilot LOS/FPV with a goofy love of lobbing things. :P

I worked on it, along with Pave Tac, Pave Penny, Pave Spike and FLIR. That was back in the late 80's and early 90's.

I was working in the eng dept for a large machine shop back in the late 90s. We manufactured many of the large components for the targeting system.
Lol I love the 80's Sci-fi music on this, and the way it locks on to that tank at 6:05 is pretty incredible.

TFR in military applications fascinates me. The faith a pilot has to show in the tech flying low at night and poor weather 🙏.

@kublip F-15's still use the Nav pod, but not F-16's. LANTIRN is pretty much training only these days.
