just sharing, today i just worked on this pattern - LKR i made it into 16th triplets and 32nds instead to make it more choppy in a straight groove came out with 2 voicings subconsciously 1) L K r L K r (2 counts of 16th triplets to 32nds PURELY on KICK SNARE HATS) - i start this sticking on the “4” of a groove and the next bar is the sticking for a full bar in 16th triplets 2) L K r l K R (2 counts of 16th triplets to 32nds (accents on toms) add phrase 1 and 2 together in a 2 bars phrase it really sounds very DOPE! this sticking is ENDLESS! thank you Josh for sharing ! :)
You have sick feel. Loving this channel man. You're straight to the point whilst remaining really clear. Been binging this channel all week man. Thanks for bringing me lots of inspiration as well as some Garstka worship in my life.. Lol
This is awesome. So many, including myself try to play the exact parts. Some do it great, but even Bonham never played the same somg the same way twice. To mix things up is more Bonham than the actual recordings.
' Bonham should have played this instead ' you've got balls the size of Jupiter I'll give ya that , all respect to y dude !!!! You are right by the way, much easier for us mortals to land the kick with the cymbal crash at the end of the fill playing it LKR 👍👍👍
I wrote out quite a few short "compositions," which generally have some different grooves and vocabulary. They cover different feels and time signatures and range from really basic to advanced. Some of them get kinda weird!
Man, You are quickly becoming like the new drum Messiah to me...
I gasped at 4:28
Frienship ended with Bonham now Josh is my best friend
Really awesome concept and great drumming. I can appreciate your clarity above all.

Or you can just substitute last kick with left: LRK LRK LRK LRL... Cheers!
This is what Bonham does in the famous "Dazed and Confused" fill.
Suspiciously well!

@@JoshMerhar ok thanks
I've always started triplets with my foot. I literally NEVER see anyone teach it that way....does anyone know why?
Idk Steve holmes covers it in some of his triplet flow videos, but it’s more like 6 patterns rather than 3.
Здравствуй Josh )))
Круто чувак)))
Спасибо за твои труды)))
Leading with your right (RLK) and orchestrating it differently also gets you out of trouble 😅🤩

Anyone else play it KRL KRL?
