- Medicines help to treat illness within the body, but what if we replaced filling a prescription with filling our bags at the farmer’s market with foods that can heal our bodies from the inside out? Dr. William Li, world-renowned physician, scientist, TED speaker, and author of “Eat To Beat Disease," joins this episode to share just how much food can impact our health.
Dr. William Li provides his definition of being healthy, tips for kickstarting your health journey, and how there are five health defense systems that are crucial to our bodies. He also explains why we should explore new foods, especially in retirement, and lists foods and beverages that can be toxic to our diet. Additionally, Dr. Li shares an in-depth explanation of angiogenesis and why it’s vital to the maintenance of our body and defending our health. We wrap up with Dr. Li sharing how he takes a scientific approach to unlocking foods' nutrients as medicine and he reveals what the future looks like for discovering these healthy foods.

I can’t absorb enough of Dr Li’s talks. I’ve got him in my ear many hours a day teaching me his ways. Over 5 years ago I was Dx with stage 3 Ovarian Cancer, with 2 inherited gene mutations. LIVE by his teachings, along with taking a Parp Inhibitor. And now I need to plan a trip to Greece, especially the town he mentioned. I need a get away from my real life. Too bad I have to drag my head along for this trip away. 🤪
My wholehearted gratitude to Dr. Li ! After reading Dr Li's book, Eat to Beat Disease and listening to his talks, I got a farmland in a pristine land to grow a variety of foods with natural manure.
Love Dr. Li! He’s the best!
I just rushed into the pantry and opened a pack of walnuts that i bought but haven’t eaten. Two handfuls- I’m your mothers, age. I’ve been holding off the chemo and radiation for seven years for my breast cancer and now you’ve told me about your mothers good luck so that makes me happy. Thanks.
Dr william Li is amazing Dr
Dr Li you are Blessed with such an amazing "BRAIN"😀
God 🙏 blessings to you Dr William Li🌹
I am really enjoying this interview! It’s an example of how a conversation with a regular person can go when talking about these complex processes in the body; the reason that’s important is because I like to share information with non medical people and his explanations are easy for all people to understand! Thank you both for doing this!
So true, I still love my childhood food: sweet yams, pumpkin, wild vegetables
God blessings to you Sir 🌹
The Interviewer kept rudely interrupting doctor Li mid-sentence which I found very annoying .
Luckily didn’t manage to throw him off track too much.
Thanks Dr Li
One of my favorite things to cook is a Tuscan vegetable soup which is mushrooms zucchini onions carrots cannellini beans spinach rigatoni pasta Tomato vegetable broth homemade fresh garlic parsley oregano basil garlic powder black pepper and when the soup is done you put grated Parmesan on it and serve it with any kind of bread you like preferably a crusty bread bon appetit
Love Dr Li 🥰 thank you
You are so blessed to do what you do for retirement, continue playing piano, totally agree with you about food , healthy eating and practising it . Thank you .
Pasta cooked and then put in some olive oil fresh lemon juice and the zest of a lemon and then scoop it out on a plate and put grilled fish on top and squeeze a lemon on it and Bon Appetit Grill the fish in lemon and garlic black pepper.
Thank you for asking him some different questions. He tends to repeat his stories.

I’ve started doing dark chocolate; I love it, and so does my body! I add just a kiss of dark organic honey! I loved this interview!
If you're going to add honey you may as well dip it in sugar. Honey is almost all fructose which is worse than sugar. At least sugar is only fifty percent fructose. The body has no use for it, it just makes you fat.
@@toni4729 I don’t do white sugar, and it is organic honey. I live in Europe; my honey comes from the German forest; it’s completely organic, with no chemicals, it’s outstanding! 👍🏾
@@SoulfoodSeminars Clearly you don't understand what fructose is. Sorry, it comes from the flowers and the plants, it's perfectly natural just as sugar is. Sugar is half fructose and half glucose. Fructose however is no good for the human body.
@@toni4729 I know what fructose is and what I’m putting in my body! Or what type of honey is good for me! BTW... Dr. Berg speaks about the different types as well.
@@SoulfoodSeminars Good, I'm glad.
Kalamata olives would be great in your salad also and maybe a cucumber. And some beets. I like a pepperoncini pepper now and then too or banana pepper. But the Kalamata olives are divine you can add a little feta not a lot cuz it's salty.
wondering why you have not mentioned nitric oxide. Dr. Bryan makes it sound so important
john lennon my favorite beatle and songwriter
Plus you have to eat wild caught salmon not farm raised.
What about cabbage and Brussels sprouts?
A rule of thumb I go by I don't like anything fake not fake me sugar milk cream anything sweetener if it's fake it can't be good it's loaded with chemicals stick to the real thing.
Hahahaha minute 27 literally made me laugh out loud he was heartbroken
He is an interesting expert to listen to.ls it possible to have his email contact for professional reasons. I have some knowledge of food production. Thank you.
He stop him saying rest of conversation what was in soda

Omega 3 is The dark stuff on the skin u scrape off
I am only gonna eat white rice
That's just glucose. No good for anyone.
This doctor does not provide the total whole health approach. He recommend apple and pom juice? Too much sugar dear doctor!
Oh yes he does! Read his book “Eat to Beat Disease”
@@threadfix I got the book few months ago, Buddy! His book recommend eat 5 times a day frame work, eat Soy beans, drink beer, ect ect. It's not bad for healthy people, let assume. But how about people with metabolic syndrome health condition? if those people just listen to him and jump onboard, the heaven gate will open sooner for them. I later learnt that he will teach people how to cook thing "correctly with science" if they willing to pay for his course full price around $1K!!!!
@@doantp Five times a day and beer. Keep it.
You lost me 1 minute into this one…that song is a vile anti God song .. shame on both of you.. I will never listen to anything either if you again .. a person who would prefer a world with no God and no heaven cannot be trusted ..
