Thanks for the review of the new dashcam Bill.
The audio it picked up was nice and clear. I always turn the audio off when I use mine.
To much colorful langauge with all the special people on the roads these days.

I'm glad you caught this video. We always appreciate your interest and support. We're pleased with the audio too, thanks for mentioning it. And I laughed about you turning your audio off because I told Micheila tonight that she needs to watch her language. I had to cut out her words in the part where the car cut in front of us, but I suspect you know what she yelled. She told me I could tell you it was her - all perfectly understandable with these special people!

good review: like you said - a review for the folks who don't care how things work - we have used viola for a 3 years now and can't complain

Thank you, glad you saw it and good to know you're happy with this make of camera. A fun gadget to get to know. And I'm glad you agree that we don't always need to know all the detail of how some things work. Cheers, bye for now.

Oh good, that makes me feel it's worthwhile doing it this way. Not very polished, but hopefully interesting and helpful topics. Thanks for watching, and for your kind comment. Cheers!

Oh thanks! Glad you watched this. This dash cam would be really good for your Roadtrek. Quite small. As for companies coming after us, Micheila and I are going to hold off for the time being. We've done two of these promotional videos now, fairly close together, and we don't want to become pushers of products. We have turned down two others but we're not a big enough channel to attract many suppliers. I hope something really enticing isn't offered, I guess I can always be tempted!

Great review! Your display of the what comes with the camera and the explanation of how easy the camera is to work with was exceptional! Now we want to get one for us!
We look forward to more of your videos. Be safe and have fun!

Oh terrific, thanks for telling me. I tend to ramble, repeating myself, but this time Micheila was behind the camera and she kept me on track. Well, sort of, I think I still rambled and paused alot. I'm happy you found it useful. Dash cams are great devices to have. And they're fun too, chances to laugh at yourself and relive travel memories. Thanks for watching and saying hi. All the best!

Excellent colour, clarity and stability. A game changer.
On another note, doesn't it concern you that there are no shoulder belts in Monty. I see the lap just loosely sits in Michaelas lap and she bounces around a lot. I fear for her safety every time I see you guys moving. A lap just isnt enough. I like you guys. I wouldn't want to see something thats preventable.

Thanks for your opinion on the camera, it's good to hear it from another person because we may be missing something. And thank you for your caring words about our safety. I'm embarrassed. We have known they are poor restraints from the time we bought Monty. I attempted to find something suitable several years ago and, well ... no excuse. You're my wake up call, thank you. I'm taking Monty back to Nanoose Bay this week to complete work on some projects and I will do everything I can to find the proper restraints and install them - or have them installed. The next time you see an interior shot of Monty, there should be new seat belts. Cheers my friend!

@@ThisOldRV2023 Great to hear it. ☺️ Maybe you can find from an auto wrecker. I know our old 1988 C class had long restraints as they clicked to the bracket on the floor.

That's a great idea. I called Lordco this morning and they didn't have any belt sets. I think you nailed it - finding one with a long reach. An auto wrecker just might be the answer. There is a large auto wrecker in Mill Bay on my way to Nanoose Bay this week. I'll call around. Thanks again!

Definitely and improvement Bill, looks like a nice little unit. Great picture, good sound.
I really need to get one, some of the drivers in this town...
I think I would need to turn the audio off, had an incident today and well, I kinda went full logger with the language,🤐😇

Glad you caught this one, Brian. I laughed at your comment, because you probably noticed that the sound was muted when I showed the short video of the car cutting in front of us while testing the camera. I had to, because what Micheila yelled out was not presentable! It's ok, we all do it, right?!
Question: another viewer noted his concern (which we appreciate) about our lap belts not being safe restraints. We totally agree and want to fix this. Have you had experience installing 3 point belts in large trucks that you worked on? Any advice, and what restraints would be best? Thanks!

@@ThisOldRV2023 That would be a question that I would send to someone at Beaver or one of the people who used to work there. The attachment points need to be engineered, you just can't attach to anything. The attachment point for the shoulder will need to go to a structural frame and even then it will need to be solid enough to not pull out of the wall during impact.
This might be a better question for a proper RV tech.
Another option, although it would definitely be costlier, would be to replace the seats with newer ones that have the shoulder belt built right into them. It might be the better and safer option.

    • @ThisOldRV2023
      @ThisOldRV2023  3 месяца назад +1

Thanks, Brian. Good advice. Replacing the seats might be the answer too. Micheila hates our seats, I think she'll love the option of replacing them. Lots to think about. Your comment about tapping into something substantial on the wall structure makes perfect sense and may be quite a challenge.
