I also have a speech impediment. I studder and also have language problems. Been walking around in egg shells most of my life. I used to get picked on a lot. I’m still a loner. I have interest on becoming a police officer but I’m scared of being laughed at. People judge me a lot even if they keep their comments to themselves. I want to get information on becoming a cop and how it works. I don’t want to be a janitor for the rest of my life. It’s embarrassing and it’s not worth working where I work at.. :(
I feel like the oral group interview will be the hardest part of the recruiting process since that's all based on speech. I try to remind myself to talk slowly and let people know I have a stutter.
You could try volunteering for your local pd to get talking experience since you're working with the officers themselves. Everything on how to join should be on the website.
Also since the interview will probably ask situational questions, this means the answers to those questions need to be backed up by experience, stories and from what I read other people say "gives answers that follow the procedure protocols/policy".
I'm thinking about joining the military to get experience.
You can do it if you truly put in the effort which I need to do.
@@gpsdoc2222 Don’t join the military. My therapist went to the military back in the day and he said’s it’s not worth going. They teach you how to kill people saying it’s okay to kill people. They brainwash you and ruin your inside’s as in emotions. It’s up to you, broski. I can’t tell you what to do but know that the military will ruin you.

When I talk I always say the S like a ch. If he stutters and go I don't think it should be a problem

This is crazy, he is clearly a selfish person me-me-me-i-i-i , it's a police work, just think about people who you gonna deal with , sometimes they are not the best of us ,not the bright ones and you conditions can get you in a big trouble, just go to military or security business!
