GW has put out that the deployment, mission, and mission rule should now be meant to be chosen as a package. Certain deployments - primary missions and mission rules go together and shouldnt mix with others. So now there are mission packs A-K i believe to choose from.
I’m n dropping down my List to only 3 characters and taking two Ballistus Dreadnoughts. Take an impulsor with infernos marines and Corvus Blackstar for my two veterans squads. Taking librarian with Fortis Kill team for 4+ invun, with beacon. Talonstrike, and Idometer with gravis Captain. Thief of secrets and watch master with Tome. And squad of infiltrators to guard back field.
Do you think the 2 watch masters are worth it? I'm considering them but they more than double the cost of each squad. Like would you rather have two 5-man vet squads with WMs? Or two 5 man squads and another squad of 5 Terminators?
I definitely think the overall list I ran was too character heavy, but the watchmasters are so strong with their volume of attacks and the lance ability. But you’re right, it’s a lot of points.
Did you remember your abilities of each unit and strats for ammo? Great game, more deathwatch, please! Good take on your list. Hope to see you try more out
I was definitely making use of the new abilities and strats. Although I don’t think I ever targeted a unit below full strength with the fortis kill team.
@@lanedelong3355is the fortis worth it or is the spectrus better? I can only afford one currently and trying to determine which one I’ll get more use out of.
I was looking for it but couldn’t find the FAQ or dataslate regarding using a singe strat on multiple units. Let me know if you know where that info is.
@lanedelong3355 It's mention in the Paria Nexus Tournament rules right on the first patch. And it's written that all abilities that give starts for free now reduce the cost by 1CP unless the strat is specifically named. The same applies to the ability that you can use starts more the ones a turn. Unless the strat is specifically name you can't. They even have an example with the space marine captain. I looked it up because I wanted to make the same thing with Terminators in Vanguard Spearhead.. bouble rapid Ingress and double uppy downy. But sadly it doesn't work. :(
@ oh yeah, so I wasn’t using the strat twice. The strat says when you use it you can uppy downy one Adeptus astartes unit or 2 Kill Team units. I was just unsure if you could make it free for both units with a captain only attached to one unit.
@@lanedelong3355 oooooohh ups...sry mate my bad, you're absolutely right. That strat is very strong then. I like the new Deathwatch. What do you think about the Primaris Kill Teams? The Jumppack one seems to be the strongest....at least to me
@ the talonstrike is probably the strongest but also the highest points. I think the fortis, Indomitor, and talonstrike are all good for their points. I’ll keeping experimenting with all three of them.
Yes this is cover in more detail in the FAQ but for basics only unit placed in strategic are held to the turn 2 rule. Units that start the game on table can be removed and placed again turn 1.
For competitive play the Corvus is just not there. I wish it was, but the points are too high for what it does. However, it looks cool as hell and the opening of SM2 would be an awesome battle to reenact with it.
I am just happy that Lane gets to use his favorite army. Glad to have them back.
I'm not. GW needs to fix deathwatch. It's ridiculous.
I am sooooooo glad they’re back and they’re actually decent.
God bless gents! Great battle rep!
Thank you for the support!

Sounds really strong. I’m curious to see if the Infernus marines have improved enough to be viable. Let us know how they do!

I think you'd be better taking 1 watch master and 1 normal captain, because the abilities are different it lets you use 2 strats a turn for free
We're back in black baby😎
You know it. I never stopped painting my marines as DW. My faith in the emperor was rewarded.
Poor unloved Spectrus Kill team. :D
All killteams need combat squad ability. Even if it's only in blackspeat
If I could take them in 5 man squads I would consider them, but at 200 points for a 10 man it’s just too many points for a scoring unit.

@@johncallihan2334personally I prefer the fortis. I think the spectrus is too expensive for what it does.
I don't think it is possible to use the uppy downy strat on two units even with a Captain. They fixed that two balance patches ago.

Most tournaments that's a tie(within 5 pts)
It was super close.
Can you up/down turn one? Reserves start turn two I thought

That is a game changer for me, pun intended
I’m still gonna Bring my Corvus Blackstar. Rhino is so lame! 😅 going to re-enact the Space Marine two opening every game dropping my veterans in.

Ugh. This report is from way back in 2024 BD (before dataslate). Ancient history. Feel free to ignore.

Using abacus to keep score
I had to build my list on paper. PAPER!
