    You make biology interesting to learn. I am soo surprise how many people don't know your channel yet

    Hi, thanks for this video it was really helpful. I just had a question, are the curves for the selection diagrams normally distributed, so are their means=mode=median. If so in an exam question would it be acceptable to use the terms mean, median and mode interchangeably when describing the change in position or shape of the curve, due to the symmetrical nature of the normal distribution's curve?
    Thank you 👍.

      Hello,
      That comes up in topic 4 when speciation is taught. I have a video on that under speciation.

    Hi, When we say random mutations, are we talking about substitution, deletion etc? Or is it about chromosomal mutations. Could you explain that further please. Many thanks 😊 3:15

      Hey, we are referring to gene mutations that result in new alleles.

    Thank you so much for this video! I wanted to ask if there is any topics this links with?

    for the essay, is independent segregation important for this reason? genetic variation within the chromosomes leading to natural selection?

    Hello, Would it be possible to explain the difference between interbreeding and Inbreeding because it has got my head baffled?_

    • @EternalShadow1667
      @EternalShadow1667 2 года назад +1

      Inbreeding: breeding within closely genetically related individuals of the same species.
      Interbreeding: breeding between variants of the same species. I.e, a horse breeding with a donkey to produce a mule.

    hi miss thank you for the video, i have a question: what is allele frequency? (how would you define it?)

    • @MissEstruchBiology
      @MissEstruchBiology  3 года назад +3

      Hello,
      that is the proportion of each allele within a gene pool.
      :)

      I thought it was how often an allele appears in the population.
