I have had the larger size, 8 slice instead of 6, version of this toaster oven since 2022. It works very well and I have no complaints. If I had to nit pick I'd like a longer timer for the oven feature.
@@davidoldham1946 thank you for responding back to me. After watching your video I'm thinking about going out and buying me a Black & Decker air fryer toaster oven. Which one would you say is a good one to get
Ok so I know you said 12in pizza so that covers length and width but how tall of a baking pan would fit inside? My son is going to be heading to college soon and I would like to make sure he can have more than ramen noodles. I know he might have more frozen meals that anything else but if he ever decides to make like a roasted chicken or something I wanna make sure it would fit.
So the crumb pan sits in the very very bottom of the toaster/airfryer/oven with the bent end facing up and out towards the door. Fits likegloves and makes it easy to clean the bottom of the oven. It doesn't sit in the rack slots, but I guess it could if that's youd Prefer to use it it just takes your slot space up. There was also a smaller pan that came with it that he had sitting in the air fry basket that can be used as a regular baking sheet or it can be slid into the bottom of the regular oven rack as a drip pan for things like chicken ect. I hope this comment helps! It's worked well for me.
I just bought the new version. The Bake Temperatures come in Celsius. The manual and box show this exact model. I could work with that, just, lol. Haven't got around to trying it. Prob will, in a day or two. It also comes with a Grill option, and nobody seems to know what that is.
This is a really great device. We went from - what is that? to - can't live without it. 😊 Random notes: - YT vids often show basket air fryers. This is the same but better because it's bigger and more versatile. - It's a challenge to get things crisp. Add more oil? More heat? Longer timing? Experiment and have fun in the experience. - "Air fry" is not just a higher temperature. It activates a fan for more of a convection oven experience. - The back tends to cook a bit more than front. It helps to remove the tray, reverse, and put back in.
The Air Fryer mode does NOT allow a temperature setting, sadly enough. Don't know exactly how to use the 'Stay-On" so I can manually use a timer. Thanks
Ha, I was wondering exactly the same thing. It feels as if you are selling the product, but not giving your personal opinion about how well it toasts, air frys, etc.
You also have the crumb tray in the wrong place. Electric cord still tied together (a no-no when in use). Instead of showing how the baking pan is also used as a drip tray under the rack, you covered the rack with foil. Even that looked staged (not heated). Agree that at the time you made the video the toaster was brand new or nearly so. An unboxing is not a good product review, IMO.
you dont relly need to even use that mode anyways. you know what a air fryer relly is dont you. just use the air fry basket and set the temp using the bake setting.
@@gogereaver349 On this B&D model (I had one), you cannot change the air fryer function temperature. The "air fryer" convection fan only works with the Air Fryer setting. The fan does not turn on using the bake setting. I gave mine away for 2 reasons. Air Fryer function only at 425F and I wanted to use quarter size sheet pans (13x9).
So, just bought this unit. The temperature runs so hot. I set it at 350 and the oven thermometer is reading 450. It feels 450! Burnt the left over pizza. Was planning to use to bake my weekly keto snacks but afraid it will ruin the snacks due to high temperature, even when I turned it down. Any suggestions to regulate the temperature?
Bought mine from JCPenney because I needed something and didn't have cash. Still trying to decide if this was the best appliance to buy. Air Frying chicken thighs right now. So far looks good. Would you be reviewing this appliance again and demonstrating cooking? I think I paid too much for it.
you know a air fryer is a oven just shrunk down. the smaller space often paired with a fan to move the air better means it needs little to no preheat less cook time. the same thing toaster ovens do.
@@gogereaver349 You know that an air fryer device usually has a way to adjust the cooking temperature of the air it moves. This model of a toaster oven with an air fryer function does NOT allow the temperature of the air frying function to be changed. It is permanently set at 425F. BTW, some toaster oven models REQUIRE preheating in order use them. The pre-heat function is automatic, regardless of whether you want to use it or not.
@@gogereaver349 Maybe so. But not over the head of the folks at Cosori when they designed my toaster oven with both air fry and rotisserie functions. Be very gentle with cleaning the trays. The non-stick coating is amazing and makes cleaning very quick and effective. Over-rubbing or more aggressive treatment wears off that non-stick quality and you will miss it. I recommend against dishwasher for that reason. It doesn't get rusty or crusty or too sticky with over-handling ... it's just that it's no longer as "dreamy easy" to clean. After a couple years the trays are still fine, just not as pretty.
the timer just make that classic anlong timer sound of ticking that it and relly even thats not very loud. and if you are not using that its zero sound.

Does it do convention (circulate hot air) when baking and not just air frying?
It depends on the setting. For example when it is on toasting it has the hot coils that turn on at the top.
The Air Fryer mode does NOT allow a temperature setting, sadly enough. Don't know exactly how to use the 'Stay-On" so I can manually use a timer. Thanks
Have you ever cooked a frozen hamburger patty in the Black & Decker air fryer
No, but we typically don't do a lot of frozen meals.

I'm interested to know how you can recommend this device so highly having never actually used it. It's clearly in brand-new, out-of-the-box condition.
We use it all the time, but check out other reviews to get other opinions.

i have one i use for pizzas. its handy vs firing up the big oven that uses 3 times the power.
I just bought this product and I can't seem to get the middle knobs to turn to the stay on position. Any suggestions?
Sorry, I don't have a suggestion on that one.
Do you have to keep all of the trays and baskets in the oven, or can you remove them and only use the one or two that you need?
You can remove them and only use what you need.
How do you set the temperature for the air fryer?
You don't set a temperature for the air fryer, it is a set temperature which I think is 400. You can only do the temps under the bake option

It has several bake temps and 300 was the lowest, so I would try that setting or try the 250 setting between Warm and Bake

I have not personally used it as I typically use aluminum foil, but as long as you keep the settings under 450 I don't see why not.

It heats everything at the same temp, so yes as long as you keep that in mind.
How difficult is it to clean? I worry about cleaning/sanitizing after air frying something like raw chicken?
About the same as a standard oven. All the parts pull out so you can wipe down the inside and soak all the metal grates, baskets, etc.

Air frying is incorrect. This and all like it are "Air Dryers". You gotta pay to ruin your moist food. Tater Tot heater at its very best.

I have not had any issues with splatter, but I could see some foods doing that if you heat them up to much.
