    In this video, I'm going to be testing out the Black+Decker Crisp N Bake Air Fry Toaster Oven.
    As with any appliance, it takes a couple of trials to get the perfect cooking settings right, so I’m going to help you along the way by showing you my tests and giving you some tips on what you should and shouldn’t do to get great cooking results from your Black and Decker Crisp N Bake Air Fry Toaster Oven.
    I'll be showing you the toast and air fryer cooking functions and how to set your air fryer timer depending on what foods you are cooking and based on my trial results I'll make some suggestions to help you achieve perfectly cooked food!
    Using the toaster oven I'll be doing a simple toast test to check the evenness after cooking. I’ll also be cooking frozen french fries, frozen fish pieces, and also some marinated chicken using the airy fryer function on the toaster oven. I don’t have any air fryer recipes to share since that is not what my channel is about, but there is an added bonus at the end of the video so please watch until the end to get the best out of your black+decker crisp n bake air fry toaster oven.

    very good review. But frying or baking needs a lot of air circulation so fries should only be one layer not stacked on top of each other. when you stack fries the bottom layer steams the top layer and makes them not crispy

      @Judy O chicken wings have a lot more ‘juices’ so I would recommend laying some foil in the mesh tray. I found if u use the drip tray when air frying it blocks most of the heat coming from underneath. If there is still smoke coming out it’s possible you missed some of the drippings on the bars. There is another option during air fry to prevent a dripping mess and allow air circulation. My oven rack has a wire guide beneath it and you can slide the baking tray beneath it. While I air fry on the top rack, I can place the oven rack with baking tray on the lowest level. This prevents drips onto the heating elements but allows more air circulation space between the air fry basket and the tray. I figured this out when I read the directions about baking directly in the wire rack.

    I just bought one of these via QVC for 79.99, FREE S&H, with a 15 dollar coupon as a "New" buyer. I read some pretty snarky reviews over there that appeared, the folks that bought them didn't 1)Read the instructions 2)Don't really know how to cook anything proper 3)Obviously, didn't watch your video. I already have a convection, toaster oven I bought used that does a wonderful job baking..(Having done biscuits). I'm excited by this IF it lasts because it's not just one of those little coffee-pot-looking units that WORK but for just a few things. That being said, HSC has a tiny 1 qt model for 35 bux (sometimes much less) that one could take to work and do lunch...

    • @MeemReviews
      @MeemReviews  3 года назад +3

      Hi. I do still own it, but I decided to buy another make and model during the Boxing day sales because it was too good a deal to miss. BUT, I've still kept my B&D as a backup since I don't know how well my new one (Cosori) will last.
      B&D is a very solid appliance, my very first one lasted 7 years, so I'm confident in saying they last a long time.
      In terms of the 'air frying' feature on this model. It's not the best. Especially when I compare it to my Cosori air fryer toaster oven, which gives better results. B&D does not cook evenly and when you use the drip tray underneath, or even if you lay some foil in the air fry basket, it does block the heat from the bottom, therefore food needs to be turned part way through. You can't set a temperature when you put on the air fry mode. One temperature seems to be pre-built into the machine, and there's no way of knowing what that temp is.
      If you're planning to air fry most of the time, this is not the right appliance, it's a great price, but you'll be disappointed with the outcome of 'fried chicken' I will say, it does a decent job of frozen nuggets, fish sticks, mozzarella sticks etc. but I was never happy with my chicken wings.
      Hope it helps.

      @@MeemReviews so do you recommend it like I said I'm looking into buying one tomorrow and I really want to know because at this price point it's only 60 bucks at Walmart where I'm at I bought one a lower model one and it didn't do anything it was supposed to it was just a toaster oven with the little tiny fan I want to be able to still have a toaster oven and option air fry thank you for responding to me I really appreciate this

    • @MeemReviews
      @MeemReviews  3 года назад +2

      In that case, for $60 and if you want a toaster oven too, then yes, it's a very good deal, like I said, B&D has never given me any problems (knock on wood) so far. BUT, if you want to use the air fryer all the time and expect excellent air fryer results, then no. For excellent air frying results, buy an air fryer only appliance.
      The B&D is an easy enough appliance to use, just turn the knob to choose what cooking function you want. The air fryer mode has a pre-built in temperature setting, so you don't need to figure out what temperature to use. So that means you will need to test out and see how your food cooks a couple of times until you get an idea of how long your food should be cooked. If you're lucky you'll get some cooking guidelines in your box, I didn't and also some other's didn't either, so I included a copy at the end of the video. Hope it helps. Let me know what you decide.

    I just bought this at Walmart. Tried chicken wings tonight. Directions were to place the basket in the middle or lowest position. This means that there’s no room for the drip tray....ok, I get it, leaves more room for air circulation. So, chicken wings dripped to bottom tray and scorched lower heating elements....wings weren’t crispy, bit of smoking inside, but it was just enough to set off my way too sensitive smoke alarm. It’s going back tomorrow.

      Thanks for sharing this! Shame u had a bad first experience. If U want to give it another try before giving it back I would say put some foil in the mesh basket. I wouldn’t recommend putting the drip tray underneath, it’s blocks the heat I found, but adding foil works best for me. All the best!
