    I had my Good Seamaritan pilot house Parker on Tampa Bay... Used to come outta the auxiliary Coast guard station ramp on Gandy boulevard... These videos bring back memories😊... Good stuff thanks for posting. Dwight, Good Seamaritan Rescue since 1958😊

    What, were they cutting across as the tide was going out & then it was gone...... and no one would help except the last guy

      I would not try to tow any boat. A lot of damage can be caused to a boat not equipped with towing capabilities and WILL NOT BE COVERED BY INSURANCE. Thats what TowBoatUS is for….As long as they are safe and in no immediate danger, wait until USCG or Towboat comes in each circumstance…….

      Ahh, I've helped several people back in the day but I didn't think about the insurance & the sH!T storm that might
      start over damages... lol, and some of the damage could already be there but you'd be screwed for helping....

      @@user-dv7hb2sc9m Correct…….One issue I see is cleats being pulled out. The backing plates on a recreational boat can be nothing more than HD washers….lol….I know it sounds dickish, but “shit” happens. Even if you have the owner sign a pice of paper for ALL LIABILITY, it is only worth the paper it is on. You would be surprised that the owner of the boat being towed will blame you for “stuff”……All good deeds go punished….lol…..

      And now that you mention it, I've seen a fair number of boats that have missing/damaged cleats & while a lot of
      things might cause this, so could towing. And some repair jobs by the owners do not get done right so that the
      cleat they fixed can come off again, perhaps easier than a manufacturer's cost cutting installation. You're dead
      on correct..... No good deed goes unpunished is the saying I've heard. This holds true for ANY good deed....
      Kinda sad but you've taught me not to mess w/ them unless it's a medical or threat to life as bad weather
      or the vessel having little hope. I do like this channel & ty for the posts

      This is a great discussion. MVF is spot on. Forget damage to your boat if something happens and think of the liability you're opening yourself up to. In today's litigation society, do you really want something to go wrong and the other party to suit you?

      But funny how different tidal swings can be.
      We get two high/lows per day, while his area only has one🤷‍♂️

      Also, we have weird tides here, but we usually have 2 H/L tides, sometimes there's not much difference between the middle H/L, and then sometimes we get only 1 H/L in a day
