    This shows the value of having 4 wheel drive. Front tires would have helped greatly.

    If I owned a boat ramp, I would install a winch system to help pull the vehicles up the ramp. Of course that would be a substantial extra charge but I bet many would be willing to pay.

    Towed boats with 2WD for about 20 years, and only got stuck once - on a very steep ramp with lots of loose debris. Next day I started looking for a 4WD. That was 1997. Wouldn't go back for love nor money. Who cares if FL doesn't get snow. Backing a heavy boat down slippery ramps often covered with seaweed and sand without 4WD is just plain foolish. Don't know how much more they are, but c'mon man, you've already spent a small fortune on the truck and the boat! If you can afford a boat, you can afford 4WD! 😅

    How does bouncing help?

    • @Tom-gu9cs
      @Tom-gu9cs Месяц назад +2

      Traction on rear tires

    • @mrnotnomis
      @mrnotnomis Месяц назад

      When the truck is bounced down, at that lowest point there is more force pushing down on those back tires than just their weight alone can provide. You are adding kinetic energy to gravitational energy, just for a moment. If the wheels are spinning at that moment, the extra force will help the truck gain traction, and it could be the difference between slipping and moving. Even though it's momentary, it could be enough to get some movement and momentum going in the truck. It doesn't help if the tires are not already rotating though.

    Broncos Guru! Could you actually read this? Give it a try.
    Would you please .... please ....devote one, I'm not asking for much, maybe 8 or 10 minutes a month to folks who know what they are doing? You had, ages ago, one short clip of a professional U-Tube fishing woman. Impressive! She parked her boat, ran to her truck, backed 300 feet in a straight line to waters edge, loaded and was gone. In 3 minutes 30 seconds.Don't say you don't know who I'm talking about. (You called her by name.) Incompetence is entertaining, but really, you could show something educational .... once a month? Kind of a "How to ...". Constant failure is not representative of Florida boaters in general, and is embarrassing when presented to the world. Like they say in New York .... "Hey, it can't hoit".

      When we were young, dumb and indestructible, we actually towed a small boat with a 2WD Mitsubishi/Dodge D50 in the early to mid 80's. Had they been available at the time, a modern Jetta would have done a far better job. I think that little truck had all of 90 HP! 😂
      With all the makes and models or AWD/4WD's available now, it is foolish in the extreme to go without.
