  • If anyone needs evidence to confirm that boys suffer as bad abuse as girls, find it here. And the absurdly exaggerated propaganda about patriarchy and male entitlement is demolished by Dr Naomi Murphy's description of the desperate and neglected state of men whose abuse has turned them into society's pariahs, an expensive menace to society and locked away indefinitely.
Dr Naomi Murphy, is a Consultant Clinical & Forensic Psychologist and the Clinical Director of the Fens Offender Personality Disorder Pathway Service based in the high secure prison, HMP Whitemoor. She has worked with offenders for more than 20 years and currently leads a service offering treatment to Category A male prisoners, often regarded as untreatable psychopaths. The men using this service have horrendous histories of trauma and neglect. The terrible abuse they experienced has made them a huge burden to society. Scandalously, the great majority were not taken into care. Most other men in prison have also suffered abuse or neglect that has put them on the path to their incarceration but their lesser risk and lower priority deprives them of access to this kind of help.

Another fabulous interview. I've not heard Naomi speak before but I will make sure I do more often. Such a refreshing view of male prisoners and very much one that fits with DV. So glad we have such incredible work going on in the prison population.

I think that's the third time I've heard Naomi talk, but I do a double-take every time she mentions that it's the prisoners who are frightened of the (generally quite young) female therapists, not the reverse. Every time I think of the nonsense that is the feminists' mantra of "teach boys not to rape" when the evidence suggests that what might actually be effective in reducing sexual offences against women is acknowledging the reality of female sexual offending against boys.

You’re right William. If only the conversation could be honest and we might then start to make progress.

Fascinating video, and very promising for prisoners.
But it left me feeling very isolated, as I have had MDD for over 30 years, it's now treatment resistant. I'm also waiting to see if I have cPTSD (I'm sure I do) and potentially Autism too. I have found it very difficult to access anything that has helped over the last decade, and this is the sort of treatment and understanding I would appreciate. I wish I could find something that works for me!

It certainly seems like these kinds of programmes are rare. It was great to hear about this one and Naomi is very skilled. Jill

What fantastic groundbreaking work and a fantastic lady! 🙌🏻 Another scary thought we are also taking thier children and families from them in the Family Courts, how trauma informed are we? Disgusting. We need to get away from treating men and humans the way we always have.

You guys and Naomi would be perfect on a platform like triggernometry to get the exposure you deserve. Their whole sthick is to give a platform to people doing hard work but their voices are underheard
