The piece on the Zambian river is just such a pleasure to hear. One just sits back and the music takes you downstream and you start seeing everyone dressed in African garb, carrying spices ,kuds playing on the shallow parts of the river and there you go endlessly dreaming. A movie done withtwo basic actors; music and your imagination.

Great sound, love Marcus and this band. Enjoy their cohesiveness and Marcus is a mad scientist, great musical mind. Han is absolutely awesome, thanks for sharing and keep it up.
sorry to be so offtopic but does any of you know of a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly lost the account password. I love any help you can offer me.
Goree...the acoustic piano after the pads was almost identical to a Roedelius tune on 'Lunz' - beautiful! The whole band is superb..;-)) Cheers for posting!
....jazzul este o stare,o transpunere a fundalului emotional, prin care ne asemuim cu creatia ,el fiind o creatie aparte,in care play/ul se destainuie in acelasi timp cu trairea...
Together with Stanley Clarke and Mark King (Level 42) one of the very best bassists, the masterclass.... but the whole band is excellent! Listen also to "Rajanit Sengupta meets Marcus Miller" with a song of Herbie Hancock (Amsterdam)
I was just at the London concert, and Alex's solo's were amazing! He literally ran around the stage playing, I hadn't seen him play like that ever before. He's definitely grown quite a lot playing with Marcus Miller, I just hope to be able to see him play again!
Amazing stuff! He first deconstructs "Papa was a rolling stone" to atomic constituents and gives the musicians and the listeners freedom too put them together anyway they like resembling (as they see fit) the original template. They do it one way in the concert and we keep on reconstructing after the show is over, over and over. Long live Jazz.
Some unfortunate mixing problems with this performance. I can only hear that electronic hat at the beginning. It's almost like someone accidentally mixed a click track into the recording.
That first conga freaked me out, cause I'm SURE that's the same opening beat from "Sympathy for the Devil!" Keith, where arrrre youoooo? However, when Marcus starting whompin' on the three-string beaterbox, I DID think "Don't quit yer day bass, Marzy..."
Marcus, we are not Africans. We are Ya'ohsharal (Israel) and the Africans enslaved us. Ghabaray is our sacred text, the Ravenous Bird is our Prophet and YA'OH is our ala'aym! Isaiah46:11 then find him on here.
Nothing like Alex Hahn playing in jazz abstract to a Miles Davis oldie…..

@Izaiah Edwin instablaster :)
Accidently stumbled across a new favourite musician and band of mine today - WOW. Marcus Miller :D
Marcus is truly a gift. He is the Stevie Ray Vaughn of bass, he was born to play that instrument and he is such a pleasure to watch.
I recommend to anyone who has never seen Marcus Miller to go out and see him live and even playing the bass clarinet.
FANTASTIC BAND, if the piece Goree doesn't get you Nothing will, how Beautiful!!!

Marcus Miller para mí el más grande de los músicos que tocan el bajo eléctrico!
Greater than Jaco?
Tous, superieurs !!!!
😊😊😊🎉🎉
unbelievable good - like always. Alex Han in Jean Pierre - wow! Thanks for this.
Marcus Miller is a really good bassist; it is not only for his great solos but for being a really good band bassist for sax or drum solos.
"really good"? Really? common ....
Yeah, "really good" must be the understatement of 2017 lol
Great. Marcus is GREAT. But, I'm sure you can understand that angle.
Top sax... 👌👍✨

Oh, a real expert here, who is familiar with H.-J. Roedelius and knows Lunz!
The keyboardist on Gore is tremendous
Марик по ходу собрал супер состав, лайк.
Good trumpet player... Music is a language.

35 min..* for drummers

i think drum session of BS River is made for Simon Phillips it will be better

Makes a good case why we don't have saxophone in symphonic music :) It is like invasive species: beautiful in moderation.
You have a serious hearing problem dude... Go and see some kind of specialist but, I’m afraid, even that may not help you Lol...
Apparently I don't like saxophone shredding so much.
It's okay because everyone else does 😎
