    When we are disconnecting wires from the existing doorbell , they got sucked in and we lost connection completely. This video never mentions about how to carefully disconnect wires . Please be aware and hold the wires after disconnecting existing door bell..

    Ring Doorbell Pro.. would be a good idea to include angle mounts in the kit and a white bezel instead of the cream colour included. I am concerned about protection against rain. If the side has a thin layer of inert silicone on it to protect, will this invalidate warranty?

    • @ring
      @ring  5 лет назад +8

      Hey there! Our devices are water-resistant and can withstand weather conditions such as rain. While adding a small amount of silicone around the base or mount may not invalidate the warranty, any damage or malfunction caused by a modification such as this will invalidate the warranty in its entirety. See more at bit.ly/2B3Izco.

    Have been living with four Ring devices, for perimeter security, for the past 18 months and it has put me in-touch with my inner Gladys Kravitz: which is to say it's very good for getting an idea of what's going on around the home. I have the sensitivity adjusted to detect at a greater distance so I have to have a look-see as to whether something is inside or outside of the 'wire'. These products have held up well to a full season of UV exposure which was my main concern and they're impervious to cold and moisture too.

      Hi there! Both options are doable - you can connect your Ring Pro to your existing 16-24v chime by checking if yours is compatible here: bit.ly/2S3gzvA and following the set up instructions in the app. Additionally, if you don't want to use your existing chime, you can use the Pro Power Kit to bypass it entirely and just run the power to your Doorbell. Ring Pro Power Kit - is this part no longer included in the Ring Pro kits sold at this point (Nov 2019)? Because in looking through the 'whats in the box' and the box itself, I see the angled bases, the various color bezels and the ring pro doorbell button/camera itself, and some installation tools/hardware, but not a power kit.

    Great door bell, but had an issue with my second door chime buzzing or humming after the door bell was activated. The Door bell work, with each activation the second door chime just wouldn't reset, or stop buzzing or humming. Checked all the wires to the second bell chime and checked all good.
    Finally had to disconnect the second bell chime from the first bell chime in the hallway, since both chimes are wired in series. I had no problems at all with the hallway chime, just the one on the breezeway to my garage.

    Do you think the “camera floodlight (We’d want the one with sirens LOL) battery pack “might be better than camera spotlight Wi-Fi due to the fact that Wi-Fi can pop off especially where we live up in the mountains? Also what’s a good sale /package deal perhaps on Amazon or eBay etc. that you guys would offer : we are just looking for front door Spotlight camera with siren battery operated preferred is there a communication feature that is with that camera or is that something separate on the doorbell ring/speaker ?I’m talking about something that of course would be wireless our Wi-Fi pops up often on so I don’t know if I trust that probably would want a battery operated one thank you, Hope these questions made sense LOL thanks

    Is this for the Ring Doorbell Pro 2 ? Or the Ring Doorbell pro 1? It would help if you specify which one. You also say 16 Volt systems yet the Ring Doorbell Pro 2 has a max of 24 Volts. It would be helpful if you were a bit more specific.

    I've never mounted anything outside before. Will I need to drill the siding or will the screw just screw in with only a screwdriver? Also do I need to turn the power off? I watched some guy install this doorbell and he left the power on but I just want to be sure lol.

      Hi June, we're excited to welcome you to the Ring neighborhood! Drilling installation holes is required for the Ring Doorbell Pro to ensure it's mounted securely to your home and not easily removable by others. When dealing with wiring at your home, we recommend turning the power off beforehand as a safety measure. Rest assured, we do partner with third-party installers depending on where you're located. If you're in the US, check out ring.com/installmyring to learn more about Amazon Home Services. If you're in the UK, check out localheroes.com/ring to learn more about Local Heroes. If you live outside of these areas, we recommend getting in touch with a local certified electrician for installation assistance. Let us know if you have any more questions.

    Huge fan of Ring have done since the doorbot days but I really think it's slipping slightly with features over other doorbells on the market today. (Cough cough) Nest Hello doorbell. There are some great features on the nest doorbell that should be implemented to RING. Surely many if not all are software related and can be added to my existing doorbell pro. Pre recorded messages quick responses, be able to recognize the person and have custom messages sent to them, Familiar face alerts. Have the option to see Recordings from the notification panel instead of having to launch the app, Siren alert for the doorbell similar to the spotlight and floodlight cameras. Please look into these.

    How do you install this doorbell if you do not have an existing wired doorbell? My current doorbell is powered by batteries in the chime and has no connection to my main circuit board. I find it weird that this video relies on somebody else having already installed most of what's needed rather than showing a full installation.

      @ring  5 лет назад

      Hey Leo, there are a few ways you can install the Ring Pro. It does need to be wired for power and can be connected to the existing doorbell at most homes. If this isn't an option for you, we'd recommend connecting the Ring Pro to a Ring Power Adapter for power - see the installation here: bit.ly/2vgRTrR and here: bit.ly/2LhCIGb. You can also find the Power Adapter here: bit.ly/2NKtUXq. Let us know if you have any more questions!

      Ring Are you telling me the only way to connect directly to the consumer unit is to first buy another doorbell, install that, then bypass it and hook up the Ring? This is silly. How do you wire the Ring doorbell directly to the consumer unit? This product is sold as a wired alternative to your other battery powered models. Please explain how to install it as designed in a house with no pre-existing doorbell.

    • @ring
      @ring  5 лет назад

      We apologize for any confusion. You would not need to install an internal doorbell first. However, you can install your Ring Pro without an existing doorbell by connecting it directly to the transformer at your home. To install your Ring Pro directly to a 16-24 VAC transformer, there would need to be existing wiring where the Ring Pro would be installed in order to get power from the transformer. We also offer a transformer that you can find here: bit.ly/2FrzH1D - we'd recommend consulting a licensed electrician for installation assistance. If this isn't an option, we'd recommend using the plug-in Power Adapter linked in the comment above.

    • @LeoWestonVFX
      @LeoWestonVFX 5 лет назад

      @Ring. So I can install a transformer and the Ring bell but the wire must already be there? That’s a shame cause I’ve got a long roll of wire in my shed that I thought would have suited this job perfectly. Unfortunately it’s not already installed so I’ll have to move to a house where there is already a wire in place.

    Hi, I am in the UK and have purchased the Ring doorbell PRO. The package contains a small rectangular accessory with a label on it reading "Doorbell bypass kit" which I presume is the Pro Power Kit V2. I also have the ring transformer in the package.
    I want to use my existing mechanical doorbell chime which is on the compatible list. Within the mechanical doorbell chime box, there is a GreenBrook transformer installed which is 10.3V ac. In order for me to use my existing mechanical doorbell chime, do I need to install both devices i.e. the "Doorbell Bypass Kit" and the ring supplied transformer?.
    Can I remove the GreenBrook transformer installed within the mechanical doorbell chime box and replace it directly with the ring supplied transformer?
    My existing doorbell by the front door is about 43" from the ground. The guidance provided by Ring is to have the bell about 48" from the ground. Moving the doorbell higher may expose the existing doorbell hole, so is 43" ok for the camera height? Thanks

    • @ring
      @ring  4 года назад

      Hey neighbour, thanks for getting in touch with us. We'd like to ensure we address all of your questions.
      - The Pro Power Kit V2 is required in order to properly install your Ring Pro. Check out our support article and installation walkthrough video here: support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360036047831-Physically-Installing-your-Ring-Video-Doorbell-Pro.
      - Regarding transformer installation or removal of existing pieces of a wired setup, we recommend consulting a licensed electrician. In some areas, electrical work is illegal unless done by a licensed electrician.
      - Although 48" is the recommend height for installation, your Ring Pro should perform just as well at 43". Since the Ring Pro features advanced motion detection capabilities, you can draw where you want your Ring Pro to monitor for motion. If you do experience any inconsistencies with your Ring Pro's motion detection, please give us a call at 01727 26 3045. We're always glad to help.
