- During September 1985 a gruesome case of a murderer by the name of Richard Ramirez was responsible for a spate of killings around Los Angeles threw AC/DC into the dock. Nicknamed the Night Stalker, Richard Ramirez terrorised the american people with a string of gruesome crimes.
Richard Ramirez haunted the american public for some time before the police finally caught up with him. When the Police caught Rameriz they claimed that he was wearing a AC/DC T-shirt & had left a AC/DC hat the scene of one of his crimes. Friends of Richard Ramirez the night stalker told the press he was a big fan of the Highway to Hell album and that his favourite song was Night Prowler.
Needless to say AC/DC achieved some unwanted publicity due the court case and many parents campaigned to have AC/DC banned from playing in certain towns and called for their records to be banned.
Richard Ramirez is currently on death row in San Quentin prison.

If someone left a Teletubbies hat behind at a crime scene, would it be the Teletubbies fault?
World Class Willian I would say so. 🤣
to be fair, you have to be pretty fucked up to watch teletubbies.
Right on...I love u...
Now these are some creepy bastards.
Seriously though, Jerry Falwell once accused the Teletubbies of spreading gay agenda and fundamental christians have freaked about from Dungeons and Dragons to Harry Potter for devil worshipping. So my response is that could be yes to surpringly lots of people and they are quite vocal about their cause.
They say he wore a ACDC hat duirng the killings.
If I where a hat with the Superman S shield on it, and robbed a bank. does that mean the Man of Steel convinced me to rob a bank.
The police detective said Ramirez hummed "Night Prowler" during is confession.
@@BestUsernameForMe omg 😭😭
@@BestUsernameForMe WHY IS THIS MAN SO EXTRA 💀
One of their best songs and they cannot play it anymore. Not fair.
Are you sure it's the fact that they can't play it? Or that they just decide not to play it
@@bradyfry8031 after they were sued unsuccessfully because of the Richard Ramirez case, they do not play this song. Such a shame it is an awesome blues number. Of course they can play it but choose not to.
when did they do it live?
The band has denied having anything to do with Satanism, with Malcolm Young commenting: "my mum would kill me for that!"
We just love to repeatedly sing about our allegiance to Satan and being into evil which my mommy is just fine with
I had tickets to an AC/DC concert in 1985 at Costa Mesa, California near L.A. but the show was mysteriously cancled a week before the show. They had not caught RR yet.
That was cancelled because of Richard Ramirez. It's in a documentary.
Augus goes off on that tune.
I remember this way too well...my folks and pretty much everybody at school thought I was a satanist and gonna snap and start killing people. All because I loved hard rock/heavy metal. Ridiculous
This is what metal went through in the 80s. It was AC/DC's fault for Ramirez's crimes, it was Ozzy's fault when a teenager committed suicide after listening to "Suicide Solution," the list goes on. Nothing about Ramirez being a p.o.s.
Judas Priest fault when those two took a shotgun to the head….one actually lived for a little. Ridiculous
Also was it Paul McCartney’s fault when Charles Manson was obsessed with the Beatles song Helter Skelter before he and his gang killed Sharon Tate and her friends?
gotta love all the "experts", its like the same thing with videogames today
It said Oct. 18th as the date of broadcast,so the show must have taken place on October 4th because it said "we attended an AC/DC concert two weeks ago."
October 4th 1985 may be the only possible Pro Shot concert from the Fly on The Wall Tour that is known.
Man do we need this show!!!
How was it ACDC's fault
TilllyTheTechGirl Eminem released his song called Kamikaze, which includes “Richard Ramirez” on his lyrics.
Francis Litan How is that ACDC’s fault
TilllyTheTechGirl
Only cus they found a hat with AC/DC on it at one of his crimes and believe he was driven by rock/metal in general.
As it should be. I don't blame Mr. Ramirez, that's a good song. My guitar teacher taught me to play this song, when I was 14 in the early nineties; as I learned more about this case, the more fascinated I became. I loved AC/DC, and proudly owned all of their early records with Bon Scott. I tragically lost them in floods and fires, but in some similar predictements as Mr. Night Stalker, could replay entire AC/DC records in my mind, from memory, out of my collection with minute integrity. In my own warped mind, that is certainly a much more Satanic "Triumph of the Will", than his heinous sociopathic crimes.
That song is about a teen sneaking into his girlfriend's room
and killing her lol
@@BustedKnuckles69 exactly lol
I have some beachfront property in Nevada to sell you.
The song is about someone who used to go around at night stealing woman's underwear from their clothes line. He never made any attempted to enter the property he was stealing from. That's what Angus Young said in 1985. Look it up, it's on here.
@@andrewsmith2757 Well he was lying, the song message is very clear. “As you lie there naked like a body in a tomb, suspended animation as i slip into your room”
It's funny to see the old channel 7 crew from back in the day. I still love AC/DC. That was a great concert @ the forum. God Bless ya'll
That is more like something that a Slayer fan would do.
Shawn Bailey 🤣
Good they caught him before he went into Rammstein.
now they blamed rap/trap for modern crimes
For me, this music gives me the empowerment, strength and passion that I can get nowhere else. I don't know about you guys, but I feel no urges for violence from listening to this.
It is in the mind of the person that that 'hunger' originates. It's saddening to see the stereotypes within subjects like Satanism and metal music nowadays and I feel that the Nightstalker's killings perpetuated these misjudgements. The majority of Satanists and Luciferians are peaceful philosophers who wish no harm upon others and most of those who enjoy heavy music (myself included) have little to no desire to wish or cause pain unto others.
I'm sorry if this makes little sense. I got lost in my train of thought here.
Rock & roll, whether heavy or not, is generally not associated with the devil. I'll admit that I can be a negative person and to be honest, this music helps me relax and get out my feelings by listening & occasionally rocking out. It's possible that Ramirez truly believed that AC/DC was one of his gateways to Satan but that's his opinion, not what AC/DC promotes. I'm tired of hearing of people throughout the decades, from the Elvis to AC/DC & beyond, criticizing "Satanic, immoral" rock n' roll.
That is the most ridiculous statement I've ever seen. Got personal responsibility? Ever heard of it?
Here is some nuance for you. Ramirez was fully responsible for what he did. If you write many songs celebrating violence, invoking Satan, etc., you would be bear responsibility for your influence on others, but it would not decrease the responsibility of people your influenced for the crimes they committed.
@@BestUsernameForMe why reply to something from 7 years ago wtf🤣
I had tickets to that show....wow, 40 years ago...?

Ahh larry my guy 😂 I see what you did their nice pun
wonder if Slayer was popular during 1985 this maniacs crimes would of been crazier. Ac/Dc is rock n roll.
the song is "shake your foundations" and the scene is from the "fly on the wal"l home video.
Huh
Heavy metal...
What's the song at 2:12 and 2:54? And at 2:54 are they playing on a late night talk show?
Hell yeah man, some one contact that damn news station!!
haha
It's probably just sitting in a vault wasting away...That show would be fantastic,
Plug Me In would have been killer with it's inclusion.
LAPD Officer George Thomas testified that Richard Ramirez hummed the AC/DC song "Night Prowler" during his confession of his murders. Ramirez's friend, Ray Garcia, said "Night Prowler" was Ramirez's favorite song.
The smug and condescending commenters on this thread will not be able to convince Officer Thomas or the relatives of the raped, mutilated and tortured victims that the lyrics “Cause no one's gonna warn you, And no one's gonna yell attack, And you don't feel the steel Till it's hangin' out your back… I'm your night prowler, crawling across your floor, I'm the night prowler, make a mess of you” are really about a teen sneaking into his girlfriend’s home for a romantic interlude, as band members later claimed
I’d give AC/DC members and fans credit if said they like to play bad boys with the many lyrics celebrating violent thuggery, invoking Satan and treating women as objects of sexual conquest (sometimes violently), but never dreamed “Night Prowler” and other AC/DC lyrics would end up creating the fuel and modus operandi for a serial killer. It is ridiculous to claim that the connection to AC/DC is as relevant as Ramirez's favorite cartoon show and breakfast cereal or that he liked Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
Perhaps the greater damage of lyrics celebrating the glamour of evil has been the seduction of millions of people to increase the level of debauchery in the lives rather than striving more to live with honor, dignity and purpose.

Tongue through cheek WOW
It's about SEX for Christ's sake!!!! 90% of Bons song were about sex the other 10% were about looking for it and getting done
I'm your night prowler, break down your door. I'm your night prowler, crawl across your floor. I'm you night prowler, make a mess of you, I'm you're night prowler, and I'm telling this to you, you ain't not, you ain't nothing you can do
Shazbot nano nano
@ElectrifyingRock you are right thanks
A 🐀 runs down the 🎳
@ElectrifyingRock youre right, and that song was a cover
Yeah, but not any Pro Shots.Rock In Rio doesn't count, cause it's from the Flick Tour. The soundboard shows from Dallas and Austin Texas are great though.
@nitroangus23 yeah the thing is the fucking record companies have too much say in what gets released. They sounded great in 85-86 too, lucky there's plenty of bootlegs from that era.
Partial Pro-Shot video of Shake Your Foudations!!?
I want that footage!!
lol
I'm old, lol, was age 15 then, remember all this stupid ridiculous speculation
ah nvm I got it, it's Shake Your Foundations and that is from the music video
@nirvanafan91ify you are right. some people are idiots. thanks
This really was the thinking of some then and now.Come on people ac dc were not peddling porn.I bet they were so relieved when rap started taking the heat for this shit and starting laying off the rockers.
Dig Dug arcade machine at 2:06!
@FockCopyrights richard remeraz somthing like that
Some guy I know has a tattoo of the Pentagram on his palm and every photo Ive seen him in he holds it up like Ramirez did in the court photo. When I first saw it I was thinking why the fuck didn't I think of that.
@SATANIST sum wea a ⏰ strikes midnight!!
BTW I'm now listening to Cannibal Corpse!
@nitroangus23 fucking right - that looked awesome - by implication there'd be Fly On The Wall and Sink The Pink in there too!

Tom Snyder look alike at 3:21
Paul Moyer. Snyder was also a local L.A.newscaster.
How about that
Rock the fuck on, Richie!!!
Fuck
Richie u still there?
i remember this on entertainment tonight. The song, however, does contain lines such as "You don't feel the steel / Till it's hanging out your back", although this is easily misleading to most listeners as it is actually a play on words. Recorded during the 70s, sex between teenagers was seen as taboo and therefore this lyric is comparing teenage sex to murder, since intercourse for people of a younger age was generally unseen and considered wrong.[2] WIKIPEDIA
I blame AC/DC, like any sensible person would.
Why
R.I.P. Richard Ramirez
Huh
Night Prowler refers to the book of Exodus (plagues part).
Night prowler for Richard Ramirez 🤘🏻😻🔥 666
I would of loved hanging out with him.... listening to heavy metal and drinking Jack Daniels! Damn I was born in the wrong era! I love Richard !!!!
