I’ve heard that the ERB writers are pretty liberal, as such are naturally against Trump from the start. This is only second hand info though, so take it with a grain of salt.
As for Lincoln not slapping Hillary, I don’t think he’d hit a woman, hence giving Trump her slap as well.
This was totally bias for Hillary and made with hate for Trump. They dropped in a minimal amount to go against Hillary and everything else was clear jabs at Trump. They made him seem more like an asshole than usual. Even his own lines were jabs at the watchers to make him seem like a horrible person. At least it wasn’t totally one sided but like I said they dropped in a minimum to go against Hillary while everything else was against Trump. Even when Lincoln came in it was jab after jab against trump with the slightest jab against Hillary. They even low key put in her winning the election and that trump should hold the door for her. Funny though that she is irrelevant at this point and trump is most likely gonna win the next one as well.
The irony is nearly all of Trump's positions now were liberal positions before he ran for president.

I've seen many people cite trump as winning this and i think the key bias here is the one you are bringing as a viewer. As for Lincons appearance, it would be borderline historical revisionism if they had him side with trump in the slightest. I really enjoy Scru’s ability to call things right down the middle with the perspective of a battle rapper. I remember people getting genuinely angry at this battle from both sides of the political spectrum and it was just hilarious to see people seriously getting angry at RUclips rappers with make up on cosplaying politicians. Love the way you analyzed it and I love how you called the winner using actual battle rapping reasoning, really let’s everyone know what you’re all about.

It wasn’t fun watching a battle where one of the contestants roasted themselves as often as they roasted their opponent. They intentionally wrote a character poorly because of their personal biases instead of letting the battle unfold naturally.
There were fire bars on both sides and it was very good but I think it could have been so much better if they were more balanced in their writing.
Yarden Akin They we’re meming. They write in Hilary coughs and bars that make her look petty. Like the whole met MLK even though he didn’t like her and she’s never exactly been good to the black community in the past. There’s memes on both sides it’s just Donald’s are more shock humor like. They stand out more but the Hilary ones are subtle and based on real life hypocrisy.

@@deathsaidhello It can definitely be done. And they have enough characters to still have a common ground to battle on (ie. Leader v leader, singer v singer, so on). I think the main reason they won't is because a lot of disses against characters would have to be reused.

Tolkien vs. Martin, they gave Martin like 2 good lines and otherwise just had him flex, White vs. Grimes the only line Grimes got worth a damn is the Dyin' Macguyver one, and they made both Bieber and Miley Cyrus as unlikable as possible (I mean, to be fair, they're utterly fucking unlikable and this marks the one and ONLY time I'll ever defend either of them) with no chance of winning the battle. Trump vs. Hillary was like that.
Those are the only ones I can think of, though.... every single other battle has both sides fighting with fire bars, even if the character doesn't have great ammo in terms of info to roast.

In fact we're seeing it today with the 2020 election, the Democratic party voters are splitting hard between leftists and centrist moderates while the Republican party has shifted hard right since 2016. It's not a flip obviously but it is an example of the parties alignments shifting.
If you want to learn about what most people consider to be the point the parties flipped, look up the Southern Strategy, though in my opinion it mostly just shifted the Republicans right and didn't really effect the Democrats, at least not right away.
The thing is, in this one, their bias was showing. Hillary had a lot of great hits on Trump, and Trump had some good hits on her. But, he also was written to offend everyone.
It didn’t seem like they liked Hillary all that much, but they didn’t unload their ammo on her the way they did on Trump.
Honestly, I don’t know what she could have said in the second verse. She hit him on his failing businesses, lack of government experience, and racism. I say this as someone who didn’t vote for Trump, I think her second verse would just be repeating everything. Or maybe more attacks on his constituents, she already called them racists.
Trump could have attacked her public service record, and going second he could prevent her from changing the framing.

More than that, though, I'm tired of this "bias" bullshit. It's their fucking channel; they don't owe you shit. If they have a message they think is important, they not only have every right to say it on their work, but they have a moral responsibility to do so.

I did absolutely love the punches in this battle, but I was a fan of how erb put their own political views into the battle, I mean hell even trumps own lines seemed engineered to make you hate him instead of dissing on Hillary. It’s a battle, they need to go at eachother, not have everyone going at one contender, including the contender himself.
I think only 3 Rap Battle characters that have shown up three times: Abraham Lincoln, Vader, and Hitler. But if ERB does a Trump Vs. Biden, then Trump would be the fourth ever character to have a third appearance, and Lincoln would be the first ever fourth appearance. Pretty cool.

Even as a guy who voted for Hilary, even as a guy who doesn't like Trump; the way they wrote Trump here to be some kind of comically evil tyrant pretty much just wins the battle anyway.
It starts off with them talking politics, then the whole thing turns _super_ leftist... and even with that (and keep in mind, I'm a Democrat), Trump still wins by just not giving a flying fuck and completely owning how evil he's presented as.
Now, do I agree? Well, it's complicated. While I don't personally like the man, I also don't think he's a fucking goblin monster straight out of a nightmare story written by Satan himself; you know, like he's presented here. However, he still wins the battle _as he is presented_ within the context of this rap-off.
He has the swagger of a grade-A asshole, he brushes off pretty much every insult like it's nothing, and he fires back harder after being fired at. It's a rap battle, yo. You work off of what you've got. And realistically, what we've got here is a woman who lost the election and a guy who thinks he's basically God. Only one of those two could possibly win and it's just not Hillary.

It was biased, but it didn't really effect the content...up until the Abe part. Abe is supposed to ruthlessly rip into both participants but they made even him bias. Im not really a Trump fan but there is soooo much that Abe could've ripped into Hillary about
@@charlesjefferson4372 I personally feel it did, to an extent. The lines each had gave the impression that the writers leaned rather notably towards Hillary. While Abe definitely could have been more neutral on the matter, it's rather clear who ERB favored in this battle. It isn't the first time they did something like this, though.
