One thing I found, even if you want your signature just to be black, still go through the steps to change the color and change it to black! When I saved mine as a .png without changing the color, it was a little spotty with a few white marks in it.

Excellent, thank you, still works in PS6. I was nearly there on my own but was copying the signature on to a clear layer NOT deleting the background, thereby getting a strange washed out style sig!

Thanks for this enlightening video. I could put my transparent signature at the bottom of all my pics by first saving the signature file in Photoshop CS5 as a .png image and then in Lightroom 5, by editing the watermark using the 'graphic' option and selecting the said image.
Where do you save it to in Photoshop? and how do you then apply it to a photo?
