    Thanks for the review I too have an F800GT which I totally enjoy and have just purchased a 2019 R1250RT which I pick up this Friday 25th. I will be keeping the GT just to go on shorter rides with some twisties, the RT will be used for touring, again thanks for the review it confirmed my first impressions of the RT.

      @@TheForeigner68 Thanks for you reply, last year whenI started looking at your videos it was your comments on the GT that convinced me I had been riding a great bike.Which I knew. Now with the comments on both the 2019 and 2021 RT I am convinced I am going to enjoy my touring on my new bike here in Australia
      Again keep up with your down to earth reviews. Look forward to more.

    I moved some years ago from an F800GT via a 1200RS to a 2019 RT and now a 2021 RT. The RT is definitely the most comfortable bike for long distance touring, but for commuting I personally would go for something much smaller and lighter. It is a lovely bike, but you don't mention the downsides - currently there are problems with the "connected ride" app connectivity, which BMW say they are working "tirelessly" on - and of course the infamous exhaust flap issue. No problems with that on the F800! Just a small point - in BMW Speak "adaptive cruise" is what most of us call "normal cruise", except that it will reduce any acceleration due to gravity. The radar controlled cruise on the bike you had is called "active cruise".

    I am going to buy it next year
    1200 is enough 4 me
    Used of course quite cheap with low mileage

    That's exactly what I'm thinking.. The R1250RT is the perfect upgrade to my F800GT.

    It’s weird but I used to be so sure I had found perfection and after a couple of months I’d get back on my old 250 (the winter bike) blast it through a few corners, zip through commuter traffic and park it with few concerns about theft…. Ah life is full of mysteries like this. :D

    Very pleasant review, relaxing! I have on order the same machine, Alpine White. I will trade in my 2021 R 1250 RS which I like very much, but want to focus on touring now that I have a taste of this fantastic engine. I have always held BMW motorcycles in high regard, as my 2nd bike was a 250 cc BMW many years ago. Lived in Europe over 30 years. After a long break I’m once again riding and am very excited to get cracking, as you say. Currently reside in the beautiful California Sierras. All Best,

    Just switched from a V-Strom 1000 to a 2020 GS1250 (bought in 2021 with a huge discount). I'm 195cm / 6'5" and the RT seat hight is way too low for me, otherwise it is a great bike. I'm riding my GS with the seat in the high position (87 cm)

    Nice. Hard to beat that TFT screen. Wish they did Apple Car Play and nocked a little weight off of it. Other than that really great bike. So many features

    Yes; that's good for some London /Aveiro, with a first class passenger. But that will be perhaps 5 to 10% or less of its use. And 130CV to Comute in everyday London traffic (90% of the use) seems a bit too much and cumbersome, but you will feel realy cozy and "dry" driving it. That's the price to pay for the exponent of comfort.

    Awesome vid with lots of info on the 1250rt, but I am trying to find out if the radar for the cruise control can be overidden. I have motorcycled over 40 years and hadn't needed a radar yet. I can see the sense in it though. One can be looking down at the TFT screen and not see slower traffic ahead of them.

    Considering one too. I have the luck of being able to have a couple bikes in my garage and a wife who accepts my BS reasons of owning a third one.. (Currently own a 2016 GSA and a 2022 X-Cape Morini). Not buying a new one though; 28k for a bike is just crazy. Will have to wait too, and snatch a used one below 20k in due time.

      Lucky man :) I can't even justify replacing my F800GT, much less get another bike :) TBH, not riding much these days so, no problems. Even considered selling mine. Breaks my heart using it as the most expensive shelf in the garage :(

    Great bike but the unreliability of the TFT/Connected App critically lets this bike down. If you wish to tour on this bike you will need a separate Navigation device.

    RT rider geometry doesn’t suit me at 1.88m, semi sports position very uncomfortable after an hour or two. Hope you are comfortable and enjoy riding the bike sometime in the future. I think the the screen should be completely integrated into the housing of bike to prevent theft of the screen, same applies to GS/A. Opportunistic thieves steal the screen, not knowing they are all coded and are almost worthless to them, but will cost the owner a fortune to replace. Is this a design fault?

    Thank you for the review. I have been riding my 2015 F800GT since new and now considering the 2022 R1250RT for next Spring. Do you feel the transition between the two bikes will be an easy one? My only real concern is the weight.

      How did you like F800gt? I'm considering buying that 2015 model, just curious if there were any downsides? I rode it, it's kinda smooth, good handling, but dont like I have to shift all the time. And the clutch and the inability to go to neutral.. and the sound. What are your feelings?

    • @illiyakuryakin3092
      @illiyakuryakin3092 Год назад

      @@tomasd2842 Hello Tomas. Since my initial comment on this video, I purchased the 2022 R1250RT. Last year I rode that bike exclusively and the F800GT sat in a corner of the garage on a CTEK battery maintainer. The F800 may have gone out once on a five mile “Exercise”, but that was all. I never considered selling the F800 because I thought as I get older, I may not be able to handle the weight of my R1250, and I would go back to the F800 again. A couple of months ago I developed a minor medical issue, and thought that if out riding the R1250 and it went down, I may not be able to lift it back up. So, I have been riding the F800 a great deal recently and have rediscovered how FUN the F800 is to ride. Of course the R1250 is a completely different world from the F800, but F800 is also a wonderful machine. It is nimble, has all the power I need, shifts very smoothly (I have no problem finding neutral), and I LOVE it’s light weight. The only two cons I find are the low windshield and the poor nighttime frontal lighting. The wind hits me in my upper chest (I am 5’11”). I have the original windshield and headlight. I know there are after aftermarket products to “Upgrade” to. I have the upgraded BMW LED tail light. But for what it is, I REALLY enjoy my F800 and have a big smile on my face when using it.

    The major flaw is that there is no Apple CarPlay! Hello BMW?

  • @emak4558
    @emak4558 2 года назад

    Why does everyone get so crazy over the ACC? Cars have had this for a decade. It is very common technology and anybody who has had a mid to upper end car in the last decade is well aware of how it works. And yet, every reviewer - spends a huge block of time explaining how it works , as if … yep, we know, have known, now know yet again.
