Chorus:
I'm going to Graceland, Graceland
Memphis, Tennessee, I'm going to Graceland
Poor boys and pilgrims with families
And we are going to Graceland
My traveling companion is nine years old
He is the child of my first marriage
But I've reason to believe
We both will be received in Graceland - Видеоклипы
It looks like there were a million in the audience. This is an incredible performance by arguably the greatest songwriter of our time.
Who's listening 2024. Great performance
I do
LOTS of us! ;)
Always start my cleaning days with obvious child and this one - magnificent!
Its in all of my cars!
we are here
28 year old british dude here and i've just discovered Paul Simon for the first time in my life. Mind blown
Welcome aboard!
You've found the closest thing to heaven on earth! Welcome
Bro my dad listened to him when I was a boy and I’m 36. Bruh no every time I’m on the road I listen to him. No I know why Dad listened to him!!! Good vibes well written and joyful. PS is a weapon!
Sorry bout the spelling that was Icrap
You need to listen to Kathy’s Song. He has to be one of the greatest singer-songwriters of all time.
In a few days 21st March I will be 89 if spared. Many years ago as a soldier "up country" Yemen on a crappy transistor I heard The sound of silence. A student of classic literature and poetry I knew this guy was something special. Paul is the greatest and I discharged myself from hospital in order to be at Manchester arena to see his Homeward bound show. Paul Simon is a one off and the lady who says his songs and music bring tears to her eyes is not alone, an 89 year old veteran, tough as boot leather tries to pretend he's unmoved, without much success. We will not live forever Paul, but your words will live in people's hearts whilst ever there is music and poetry.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Happy early birthday!
Happy 90th.
It's Mar 15.. And I feel you are here... thank you for being U🎉
Thanks for your service, and your taste in music!! BTW Belated happy birthday!!
OMG, This song and album Graceland saved me when I was a broke single mom with a special needs infant trying to go to nursing school. I succeeded, but this album gave me strength in very tough times. "I have reason to believe"

Thank you for sharing your story of strength and resilience. You never know how that might impact others.
I"m 79 and am still rocking to this song.
What do you mean, I just had a hip replacement and still hit the beat with my crutches 😉🎶🥁🎧
This Graceland album: eternal value! Never too old to listen: 71 years old 💪🏽 🍀
Totally agree - I'm 74
A very happy 81st birthday Paul Frederic Simon October 13, 1941, Newark, New Jersey
Many may say you are a modern folk music icon.
But I say you are a musical icon. Music that is timeless..
I'm 20 years old and have just discovered Paul Simon by randomly picking his vinyl up today at the store and listening to it. I haven't stopped listening yet. What a treasure to have found him.
Awesome!
He is a gem!
Welcome to the game.
Welcome to what we discovered in the 1960’s!
..I'm 68...and what a treasure it was to find them...!
Without a question one of the greatest albums ever written.
Without a question indeed!
@@gordondavenport4019 👍🏻
So true ..
For sure!
it brought me to tears last night. it is an extremely touching piece of music. so much soul.
Paul Simon is a criminally underrated musician
I'm 65 British dude, who has listened to him for decades, a rare talent.
Who ?
65 and lisening to who ? Paul simon or Daivid bowie
Are you insane
He makes me sob when when hear this song. Heard him for the first time when I was 19 in college and am 72 now. What a treasure Paul Simon is to our world.
He is such a wonderful and talented singer, love listening to his songs, the best ever
Hello Sharon , how are you doing, hope you good?
Janus joplin
Your math doesn’t quite add up. Song was released 35 years ago.
@@whippetfun Classic mansplaining there, RobertL, and you are way off base. She didn't say SHE HEARD THIS SONG WHEN SHE WAS 19. She said she heard HIM (Simon) for the first time at 19. That would make the years about right, if she's 72 now. You're pretty damn rude for no reason.
Thanks to Paul for demostrating to the whole world that South Africa has a talent. The whole graceland album was done with our boys and girls of Mzantsi. Pity most of them were never featured in the music videos
South Africa is the heart of music, in a continent which is the soul of music. I've never crossed an ocean, but I feel myself a part of South Africa every minute of every day. Perhaps from the day I shook Mahlathini's hand, or perhaps from always.
Yes it is a pity, but what else do you expect? This entire project was, as ever, a vehicle for Paul Simon's self-indulgence. He cared as much about those performers as he did about the victims of apartheid on whom he turned his back when he went against the pleas of anti-apartheid organisations and individuals worldwide not to break the sanctions then imposed on South Africa, but what did that matter, compared to his prestige?
yesz yes yes yes!
@@Sootaroot You're very wrong. Paul sees the South Africans as oppressed as the Jews. He's trying to raise them up any way he can. You're ignorant
@@mikenayl Beautifully said.
"Losing love is like a window in your heart, everybody sees you'e blown apart, everybody feels the wind blow..." one of the great lines ever. Lucked out in a mini-lottery and scored fifth-row center seats for this concert. Best performance of my life.
That is one of the greatest line of lyric ever
Bouncing into Graceland… ❤️
❤️
💥
i could not agree with this comment more. thank you.
Im 81 and I reared my kids on Paul Simon and his amazing music. One of the greatest albums ever written
The BEST music.God Bless you with such a good age, l'm from South Africa 🇿🇦 🙏
No one makes music like this anymore. I am blessed to have lived through the great music renaissance of the 60s and 70s.
We were blessed to be born on this era.
Absolutely......born late 58!
Me too :)
Amen!
Born 48 still feels the same
The late Ray Phiri is killing it on that lead guitar.
my my my Ray Chikapa Phiri.
RIP ❤
It's 2023 and we are still going to Graceland😅.Still gives me the chills.
The Graceland album got me through a really bad time in my life. I'll never forget it for that reason. You're something else Paul. Greetings from Ireland.
What a beautiful smile 😍
@@johnbennett948 thank you so much❤
The backup singers alone are worth the price of admission.
Especially the one in a red jumpsuit.
I love watching those three singers! I think they dance more than sing!
oh yes pretty
I can hear the Late Ray Phiri's influence in this track. Wow, genius, was the man.
The most extraordinary concert in rock music history. I suppose it was the highest number of audience in the Park. And also very clean and high quality record.
The greatest album ever.
Greetings from Whitby, Canada
We have lost a great tree, Rest in Peace Mr Ray Phiri. He was a Guitar Guru in South Africa
Oh so true! Talent at its best. African talent. Playing Graceland since Saturday and my son of 11 loves the beat of the song.
Thank you for being here, Paul. For all of us.
What a song. The Mississippi Delta shining like a national guitar. I've reason to believe we"l all be received at Graceland. This man is a poet as well as everything else.
The mississipi DOWNTOWN shining like a national guitar. Johnny Clegg durbs

...shining like a national guitar...YES WOW oh fukin yes!
yes he is
One of the great wordsmiths, supported by magnificent musicians!
This man is a treasure. He lifts all those around him. We won’t see the likes of him again. ☮️
He was born out of the '60's, so many great artists arose from that era out of the flames of war and national and global pain.
Truth in that,never again.
It is because of him, and the few like him, that we WILL see his likes again. Beauty begets beauty. Evil begets evil. But Love will win.
He’s a genius, its that simple. You wont experience many in your lifetime but cherish those who enter and enrich your life. Can’t write any more as I’m too caught up in the music. I’m 68 and loved him for what seems all of my life.
I personally think that Paul Simon is the best artist in the whole world, his song are beautiful 💥
I kind of agree with you here but then there is bob Marley who said so much
He is the Poet Laureate of rock. Many years ago, I was told a story of an older English teacher talking about poetry, and a student brought up the lyrics to Paul Simon's The Boxer, and that it was a hit song. The teacher read the lyrics, agreed that it was definitely fine poetry, but a hit song? Someone produced a radio... the teacher was impressed.
All of us are impressed... and grateful.
I personally love you for feeling like that.
Losing love is like a window in your ♥️ everybody sees you are blown apart😭😭🙏🙏🙏
One of the best songs with African influence I have heard since Neil Diamond’s Soolaimon.
Graceland & Rhythm Nation are two albums that are rare because there's no fillers. Every song is a hit single

Ascolto Paul Simon da quando facevo il liceo. Ora ho 65 anni e ancora mi trasmette gioia e mi emoziona. Lui ha grande talento e stile. Lo adoro.
For dad, always 14.7.2015 💔 I hope you can hear this like you did the day you left 😘🙏
This album saved me from PTSD thank paul
his music is something else - special
Graceland must be the best album ever produced
Pink Floyd's "The Paul" is pretty good. "The Wall" too or paulso.
Graceland is one of the albums I wish I could hear again for the first time.
I totally agree!!!
# TooMuchScotty ppm
there only 2 albums I later bought the CD als well " Graceland" and "The dark side of the moon"
I wish they would've showed the bass player more than once, what a great player
I can already tell that you're a concert guy.. you appreciate Live music.
Totally agree. Bass holds the whole song together.
Bakithi Kumalo hi there here is bass player - Google it!!
You should hear his licks in Diamonds On The Soles!
He's always on fire!!
Clean music clear off drugs and Alcohol..what a class to be proud of..what a lyrical treat . Hats off to God. He is high above dirt and confusion. Thank you God for giving Paul Simon ❤️
Paul ist der creative von Simon and Garfunkel.😊
The man is a songwriting God.. not the best voice ever but his lyrics, rythms and harmonies are genius. One of the all time musical superheros.
I'm am 💯 your man ok answer me back now
Absolutely musical Genius
He touches the magic of the human spirit. Ok. That sounds lame. But he is the kind of artist that touches my spirit, and he makes me believe I could make magic, because he stirs the magic in me.
I agree. And thank you for not saying this album, or the renowned Paul Simon are 'underrated'. As one sees so often on RUclips.
I agree, the writing and musical craftsmanship are just something else. "They say losing love is like a window to the heart / everybody sees you're blown apart / everybody sees the wind blow" has to be one of the best pop lyrics ever written
Hi from CANADA. 😎
I am from Canada and would like to make contact.
Greatest song ever in my opinion and i want to thank my dad for introducing me to Paul Simon 30 years ago.
Coming into this I was like there's no way they will be able to capture the essence of the original recording. BUT this is wayyy better... unbelievable stuff
Amazing solo performance on Colbert recently. Legend.
Awoke to this song, after having explored Swedenborg..................there awaits a Graceland, Hallelujah!!!! Bless you Paul Simon
I am A Rodent and even Rodents appreciate unquestionable talent.

Immortal song, immortal lyrics and this perfect blend Paul Simon has with him, on the record and on stage......I`ll listen and enjoy this song until I don`t enjoy anything no more.

The whole album and concert is outstanding!,,,,

I am. What a great song! This is one of the great ones including The Boxer.
Made America Great again 👍
Ich liebe es ich Danke Paul Simon für diese wunderbare Musik ❤❤
Dear me, I love this 😘
One day of these, someone will explain me why this masterpiece has only 700k views. I cannot find a valid reason.
One of, if not my dads all time favorite artist and musician is paul simon, and my mam got him tickets to see him in dublin for the farewell tour a few years ago. They left for the concert and on the way my dad fell ill and could not attend, my mam offered for me to go with her so the tickets didnt go to waste, and i almost passed on the opportunity as i didnt know much about paul simon/simon & garfunkel. I had a flash before my eyes as i hesitated thinking if i didnt go, id regret it for the rest of my life, and so off i went to the best concert ive ever seen, and its now so sentimental to me that i went. Not to mention, graceland is easily my favorite song of all time now. What a memory ill cherish for life ❤
An all African backup simply out of this world ... way too good..
Watching this in 2022. I still have this album after all these years. It's an absolute masterpiece. Paul Simon's crowning achievement. He's the musical poet laureate of a generation and a master lyricist. There is no one else like him. He's truly a national treasure.
One of the greatest songwriters of all times.
I am 72 years old, I never listen to his music I forgot my ages.
1967 probably I listened Sound of Silence and 69, Boxer and 2010’s still playing African music!
Nálunk 32 éve volt, kint voltam a koncertjén akkoriban. Rég hallottam róla, remélem jó egészségnek örvend.
There has never been a greater song writer and singer than Paul Simon and very, very few come anywhere close.
Paul Simon... the only man I ever loved... Sent to us from heaven... Simply mercurial.
Great music, great and humble man. He sat next to a colleague of mine about 10 years ago on a flight. As he shuffled in he simply said “Hi I’m Paul”
After Sounds Of Silence Paul Simon was ahead of the curve
for the rest of his career. Stand back and admire the Mozart
of popular music.
I was 12 years old when Paul Simon took me to Graceland. I had just lost my dad through divorce. I didn't want to know he was talking about me, but "Losing love is like a window in your heart. Everyone sees you're blown apart. Everyone sees the wind blow." I listened to this album over and over. I still do. He took my ghosts and empty sockets and gave me Diamonds on the souls of my shoes.
🎼Paul Simon you are a national treasure,your music 🎶makes everybody smile 😃🎺🥁🎷🎸🪘
I am a Rodent and wish all human beings could be as beautiful as Mr Paul Simon.
You are gifted as an honoury Rodent my dear friend.
I love the fact on this record was people that didn't know any English and yet played the songs for Paul this was top notch the way he did this
Super Paul.😊
I was at that concert. It was awesome
So nice.
i remember this song since 1970, I was visiting my father back in San Francisco California! God Bless This nation, thank God for life, this is 2022 and i am living in USA CT . i pray for this nation and the State where my twins sons were born, and thanks God for them
When you listen to this song and remember the relatives, neighbours, friends, workmates you have lost during your life, you quickly realise that we are all passerby's and so journers like our fore fathers were. My GOD be praised for the gift of Life. Still here 2021

When Paul leaves this world there will be a terrific hole in the musical ozone.
The great Paul Simon
Grace Land takes me back to my childhood (today I'm 38), this was the dawn of new South Africa. Never understood English but when my sister played this album something trickled in my body and everything made sense. One of my favorite albums. I cannot believe even today something trickles in my body when listening to this masterpiece.
I was there after Desert Storm, I sat next to 2 French people. I shared my blanket. Thank you for a legendary time!
Listen to that crowd! Much love. No one is sitting in that audience, and they're screaming when they hear the opening of every loved tune... and it's NYC and the sun is going down...and the other musicians are as exquisite in their own ways as genius paul is. I miss this, pandemic cause.
Its Hyde Park London

My late mother born in South Africa & my late brother where Paul Simon fans.
I remember in our teenage years me and my brother would just chill & listen to Paul Simon albums. 👍...my brother used to adore Paul Simon & all his Simon & Garfunkel LPs & CD's. In fact, he learned his own chords on his acoustic guitar while carefully listening to every lyric and chord that Paul played.
"We're All Destined To Bouncing Into The Graceland ". A.A...Amen.

Minute 3:13, the spectator girl sitting on someone's shoulders singing with Paul Simon "And she said, losing love is like a window in your heart" sends chills thru my spine and tears in my eyes!

Hello Michelle..
@@frankdavid3691ciao Frank!🙋😊😘💘🎄
Saw Paul Simon in Manchester during his farewell tour a few years ago, pre Covid. I had to see him, out of respect. He is right up there in the pantheon of songwriters and musicians, a genius. Graceland, for me, is the pinnacle of his creativity.
Beautiful
'The Mississippi delta is shining like a national guitar'.. Absolutely fantastic lyric. Bravo Paul Simon
this is a masterpiece:"Losing love is like a window in your heart; eveyone sees you;re blown apart" Wow!
That verse fills your eyes
It's because everyone can relate. Everyone has been there. We have all had that heartbreak that no matter what you do to try and act like it's not bothering you everyone can see right through you and see you're dying inside.
He’s the best😎grow up with him and Art in the seventies can still every song they did wow
There will never be another PS.
Receive your flowers Paul
I’ve always listened to a the occasional bit of Simon & Garfunkel but I’ve just stumbled across Simon’s solo career. Found this song last week and it’s already one of my favourite songs of all time. Simon’s lyric writing is ridiculously good.
She comes back to tell me she's gone 🤣🤣🤣 God bless you Paul.
My son went to Memphis TN and did not even manage to go listening to the Memphis Choir !! Garnement, va
I saw this great grassroots band in a pub when the lead singer was my old mate John ' Woody ' James . A great night .R.i P. John , the best mate you could ever meet .
Dats why i always kiss you wherever we meet Paul Simon....your music heals
Paul Simon's music is the definition of timeless! My music producer friend introduced me to the Paul Simon when we were 16 and I've been hooked ever since, Such good memories hanging out in his basement blasting Paul Simon. I wanna throw my friend some love as we've been through a lot together try searching Lonely Gimmick - Beaches, it's his latest single and it gives me Paul Simon vibes, I'm honestly so impressed with it, its one of those songs that makes you happy when you listen to it
It was a gentle plug, so I listened. I actually really liked the song. Beaches reminded me more of Vampire Weekend than Paul Simon. I love Vampire Weekend, but I can hear the difference. Why do you see a connection? Your personal message makes me think you aren't just advertising. But why do you think your song connects with a master songwriter? (and btw, no one wants to see a mouth that close.) There was no depth in the song. Listen to The Boxer by S & G. Listen to the depth of the character and the emotion. "In the CORNER stands a boxer and a fighter by his trade, and he CARRIES the reminders of Every glove that laid him down or CUT him till he CRIED out in his Anger and his Shame, "I am leaving, I am leaving, but the Fighter still remains. Why are these the lyrics a gentle little suburban girl remembers all of her life? Because they paint a true picture of the human experience. That is art. That is DaVinci. That is Cassatt. That is Mozart. That is Paul Simon.
Paul Simon is an old Institition
I have him heard 50 years ago
Paul Simon for me one of the greatest musician ever
Pound for pound musician songwriter singer performer and general longevity Paul Simon is possibly the greatest of them all the man is a genius he seems a very modest man the voices unchanged for many years and we can all just thank you Mr Simon for being who you are you are the master sir.
