I really don't like O'Tool's graphic style -- it's so dull like you're looking at some business infographic, not a game. I was lucky to buy an Automobile Revolution just for $30 a couple of weeks ago, and I definitely prefer the older versions of the design. Basically, everything I needed to know, that Sandra became a little bit meaner, which is good! Right? We will use the new rule in our next play! Oh btw, what was the second new rule?

Obviously I can't speak for everyone, but I would love a regular series where you two go head-to-head on games that you're both familiar with. Repeats of Kanban, Lisboa, etc. as well as others would be really cool!

Great Job. Thanks for doing this. The Drivers edition has wooden cars with unique shapes. We also placed a “beginner” muted color version of the board on the flip side of the regular board. This board was meant for first time players and only colored the important sections of each department. Ian did an incredible job with this latest printing of the game.

I've had the game for about a month now and am just noticing I don't have all of those extra garage tiles they talk about at around the 10 minute mark. Are those special tiles? I backed the kickstarter fully.

I discovered you both recently and I love your videos. It's my goal to play all of the Lacerda games this year. I learned and played The Gallerist in January. Very nice playthrough! One thing, Monique should have spent the black part first to push out the green city cars as that part was upgraded. Though both times she could have substituted that with her car parts voucher so probably didn't change the outcome much in the end.

I was considering this to over Lisboa but dang it still pretty expensive for now. I mostly go solo for now so hearing from others' experience as to how Turczi had done the solo mode well, I just had to anticipate this the next. Nice video as per usual!
Had to buy the upgrade pack with the supercharger expansion after seeing this for the sole purpose that is makes going to admin more appealing. It was good to take actions that would otherwise be unavailable but the lower shift counts, going last, and subsequently placing last in the next placement phase made it so that I only wanted to go there as a last ditch effort. Great video as always.

It was fun watching this, after playing two games this week with my son. We were both kind of amazed at how suddenly the game ends. You have all these plans and then boom it's done. We thought maybe we were doing something wrong but it was exactly the same as your game. So we did a two-player game in under an hour, not counting setup and takedown 😆 That's actually pretty good! It's what gets him to want to play games like this with me. Now I have to teach him The Gallerist!
Aww that's so awesome to hear! Do you play only 2 player? The Gallerist is good at 2-P but really shines at 3+ because of the way sponsoring an artist and the Worker Placement spots behave. Hope you will have fun with it!!

I may be wrong but I think at 53:30 where Monique starts pushing the green car the part used should not have been allowed. I think as there was an upgrade for electronics for that model, Monique would have to have used a black token first. Is that right?
At 53:28 Monique uses a tan/beige car part to push a green car. But the green car design is tested with a grey car part so that is the first car part that must be used when one wants to push the green car. Am I wrong?
Love the video, you guys have great chemistry, which correlates to heartfelt vids that are fun to watch. I'd love to know what you use equipment wise (cameras, lighting, sound, etc....).
1:20:17 Naveen accidentally moved purple only 3 points when he should have moved it 5 edit: Now that I read the comments, I see there are others who saw it too. Great video either way, I very much enjoyed this even though I think this game is too much of a hassle for me and my SO. We do not like the many seemingly random small rules that you always forget.
The Driver's edition was great, that's where I fell in love. I got EV but unless you are a die hard fan and need to have the shiny one, I say save yourself some money and get the Driver's edition from people who are now selling.

Probably not, it's essentially the same game and you technically can play with the updated rules (Mean Sandra always punishes at least 1 pt). I will say the graphic design and overall aesthetic of this one is much more pleasing.
When you place a part to push a car around 54:00 don't you need to provide the green car's upgraded part first? The green car has a grey upgraded part on it, so you need to provide that part before you can provide any others.
Nice playthrough! One mistake I've noticed: At 1:09:07, Monique moved to Administration, but should not have been able to, since Sandra was already there.
@@BeforeYouPlay I've only played three solos so far, and made this mistakes in two. Both while in Admin, so I guess her being at her desk, and not on the usual spots makes it easier to miss.
For 2P, which is your favorite Lacerda game? I know in your previous video where you guys ranked it, it was C02 and Lisboa. How does Kanban EV compare when playing 2P? I want to get me and my wife our first Vital Lacerda game and still can't decide! Probably between The Gallerist, Lisboa and Kanban EV (if it works as good).
Awesome video! So close Naveen. We can’t wait for ours to come in! Also if I had a dollar every time we made a game harder on us. Except for Spirit Island. We were convinced after our first playthrough we made it harder and no we did not. We just were terrible our first couple of plays 😆
In the start you say the board is layed out differently; Actually the board is exactly the same layout, but 90 degrees turned. If you would turn the board portrait, you will see, left to right the layout is still bottom (old) on the left (new) R&D and designs. The top (old) is now right (Assembly, Parts, Boardroom). The "old" white walls are now not with corners, but straight lines.
Still new to the game and love watching you both do play throughs, but at 51:19 Naveen uses a parts voucher. I thought vouchers can only be turned in for parts currently available in logistics. If logistics doesn’t have it, then the parts voucher can’t be used. You can use a parts voucher for a part, then use the recycling center to change it out for the part needed 🤷♂️. Again, I’m open to correction as this is a beast of a game

Fantastic job! Just perused the rulebooks today, needed to double check I understood the new parts right. Very excited to try the Speedcharger expansion particularly.
That missed speech bubble for Naveen appears to have decided the game! Had he picked up the speech bubble for achieving the factory goal, he would've had the chance to use it at the final meeting which would've helped him squeak past Monique!
1:04:55 haven’t you had to put an upgraded part (black one) there instead of beige? Because the green car has that upgraded part. (Rulebook page 12 segment 1. Bulletpoint 3)
Kanban is my favorite euro. Sooooo soooo goood. A brilliantly themed board game. Took me a week to learn but so worth it. This one looks even nicer than the last👍well done my advice. Upgrade upgrade upgrade first big points grab. My woman scores 13 points with just her first move. Gotta bring my A game with her
Also Monique put illegal parts behind the green car 4x during the game (when it specifically required the upgraded electronics part) so Navine would have easily won :p but he didn't catch it and the victory was declared so LOL.
Monique also forgot that you need to use advanced car parts first to push cars and would have had to use her parts voucher. I think it happened a couple of times as well.

Are there any non-Lacerda games that may help me gauge if I’d like a Lacerda game? I’m intrigued by this, On Mars, and Lisboa but not sure me/my group will really like any of them.
I never played the original but I got this on KS and it's my favorite Lacerda (of 4), if not my favorite Euro. I feel it's more streamlined than On Mars, but still plenty heavy. The punchboards are also much better quality than On Mars and the visual appeal is stunning
I just got my copy yesterday! When I was unboxing it I was thinking two things 1.Lacerda isnt over with Naveen and Monique yet.... 2.I hope they teach me how to put this back into the box

Correction: Sandra evaluation: (Video time 5:26) you say “in this game you’re gonna loose 1 PP no matter what, if you are the lowest certified” That is not correct. If you are the lowest certified , you will be evaluated. If you are evaluated check the criteria for penalty. Only if you meet this criteria, you loose 1 PP plus another 1 PP for each Banked Shift you have fewer than 5.
We honestly haven't played with the others. The Supercharger expansion is helpful to get you easier abilities. I think it would be a good one to start with.
What with the certification track mistake that ollie wood mentioned in the comments switching the victor again, let's just agree that no one had a victory greater than the margin of error. Call it a statistical tie :) Great game, and great channel. Off to subscribe, and view all the Lacerda playthroughs I haven't seen yet. Have another vote for a future Rococo Deluxe playthrough. One of my favorite games. The original was my gateway drug, after a whim saw me joining my friends for Spiel 2013, and picking it up there. Oh, the stories it could tell :D
There is one rule that always confuses me. At 44:04, couldn't Monique have presented her card and immediately passed? Wouldn't that have ended the meeting and prevented Naveen from scoring any more with his remaining speech bubbles? Or, is playing her card the actual turn without actually passing?

It was fun watching this, after playing two games this week with my son. We were both kind of amazed at how suddenly the game ends. You have all these plans and then boom it's done. We thought maybe we were doing something wrong but it was exactly the same as your game. So we did a two-player game in under an hour, not counting setup and takedown 😆 That's actually pretty good! It's what gets him to want to play games like this with me. Now I have to teach him The Gallerist!
Aww that's so awesome to hear! Do you play only 2 player? The Gallerist is good at 2-P but really shines at 3+ because of the way sponsoring an artist and the Worker Placement spots behave. Hope you will have fun with it!!

I may be wrong but I think at 53:30 where Monique starts pushing the green car the part used should not have been allowed. I think as there was an upgrade for electronics for that model, Monique would have to have used a black token first. Is that right?

At 53:28 Monique uses a tan/beige car part to push a green car. But the green car design is tested with a grey car part so that is the first car part that must be used when one wants to push the green car. Am I wrong?
Love the video, you guys have great chemistry, which correlates to heartfelt vids that are fun to watch. I'd love to know what you use equipment wise (cameras, lighting, sound, etc....).

edit: Now that I read the comments, I see there are others who saw it too. Great video either way, I very much enjoyed this even though I think this game is too much of a hassle for me and my SO. We do not like the many seemingly random small rules that you always forget.

The Driver's edition was great, that's where I fell in love. I got EV but unless you are a die hard fan and need to have the shiny one, I say save yourself some money and get the Driver's edition from people who are now selling.
I usually skip Lacerda's game, 'cause they seem intimidating from the outside.. But you guys make me check each & every one of your playthrough of his games & I'm amazed how I can stay tuned all the way 'til the end.. Greetings from Indonesian Board Game Reviewer!

Probably not, it's essentially the same game and you technically can play with the updated rules (Mean Sandra always punishes at least 1 pt). I will say the graphic design and overall aesthetic of this one is much more pleasing.

When you place a part to push a car around 54:00 don't you need to provide the green car's upgraded part first? The green car has a grey upgraded part on it, so you need to provide that part before you can provide any others.
yes around 53:26 the mistake was made. The first part had to be an electronic part.

One mistake I've noticed: At 1:09:07, Monique moved to Administration, but should not have been able to, since Sandra was already there.
-11 to Monique then LOL! Good catch, we are usually so so good about not going where Sandra is. Not sure how we both missed it!!
@@BeforeYouPlay I've only played three solos so far, and made this mistakes in two. Both while in Admin, so I guess her being at her desk, and not on the usual spots makes it easier to miss.

For 2P, which is your favorite Lacerda game? I know in your previous video where you guys ranked it, it was C02 and Lisboa. How does Kanban EV compare when playing 2P? I want to get me and my wife our first Vital Lacerda game and still can't decide! Probably between The Gallerist, Lisboa and Kanban EV (if it works as good).
Awesome video! So close Naveen. We can’t wait for ours to come in! Also if I had a dollar every time we made a game harder on us. Except for Spirit Island. We were convinced after our first playthrough we made it harder and no we did not. We just were terrible our first couple of plays 😆
In the start you say the board is layed out differently; Actually the board is exactly the same layout, but 90 degrees turned. If you would turn the board portrait, you will see, left to right the layout is still bottom (old) on the left (new) R&D and designs. The top (old) is now right (Assembly, Parts, Boardroom). The "old" white walls are now not with corners, but straight lines.
Yeah you're right! I'll be honest I kind of like the older layout with the horizontal action space lines. Which layout do you prefer?
I like the new one more, because I understand the icons better. And I like the clean design

I’ve never played any iteration of Kanban (I’ve wanted to), but this board looks so much better than the other two.
Still new to the game and love watching you both do play throughs, but at 51:19 Naveen uses a parts voucher. I thought vouchers can only be turned in for parts currently available in logistics. If logistics doesn’t have it, then the parts voucher can’t be used. You can use a parts voucher for a part, then use the recycling center to change it out for the part needed 🤷♂️. Again, I’m open to correction as this is a beast of a game

Fantastic job! Just perused the rulebooks today, needed to double check I understood the new parts right. Very excited to try the Speedcharger expansion particularly.
That missed speech bubble for Naveen appears to have decided the game! Had he picked up the speech bubble for achieving the factory goal, he would've had the chance to use it at the final meeting which would've helped him squeak past Monique!
At 1:20:15 Naveen accidentally only gave Monique 3 points instead of 5 for the certification track...so would've been close 😬

1:04:55 haven’t you had to put an upgraded part (black one) there instead of beige? Because the green car has that upgraded part. (Rulebook page 12 segment 1. Bulletpoint 3)
Kanban is my favorite euro. Sooooo soooo goood. A brilliantly themed board game. Took me a week to learn but so worth it. This one looks even nicer than the last👍well done my advice. Upgrade upgrade upgrade first big points grab. My woman scores 13 points with just her first move. Gotta bring my A game with her
Also Monique put illegal parts behind the green car 4x during the game (when it specifically required the upgraded electronics part) so Navine would have easily won :p but he didn't catch it and the victory was declared so LOL.
Monique also forgot that you need to use advanced car parts first to push cars and would have had to use her parts voucher. I think it happened a couple of times as well.
Just got my first play in today! As someone who never played the original, I don't think I could ever play it now.

Are there any non-Lacerda games that may help me gauge if I’d like a Lacerda game? I’m intrigued by this, On Mars, and Lisboa but not sure me/my group will really like any of them.
I never played the original but I got this on KS and it's my favorite Lacerda (of 4), if not my favorite Euro. I feel it's more streamlined than On Mars, but still plenty heavy. The punchboards are also much better quality than On Mars and the visual appeal is stunning

Really nice playthrough 😊 Turns out that if you know how to play, the game doesn’t feel like a drag 🤣 I just boxed every in but I’ve yet to try it. Gotta find some time for that. This and on Mars are likely my favorite Lacerda games 😍
Correction: Sandra evaluation:
(Video time 5:26) you say “in this game you’re gonna loose 1 PP no matter what, if you are the lowest certified” That is not correct.
If you are the lowest certified , you will be evaluated. If you are evaluated check the criteria for penalty. Only if you meet this criteria, you loose 1 PP plus another 1 PP for each Banked Shift you have fewer than 5.
How good is Kanban EV: Upgrade Pack, does it really improve game. Is it essential.

We honestly haven't played with the others. The Supercharger expansion is helpful to get you easier abilities. I think it would be a good one to start with.
What with the certification track mistake that ollie wood mentioned in the comments switching the victor again, let's just agree that no one had a victory greater than the margin of error. Call it a statistical tie :) Great game, and great channel. Off to subscribe, and view all the Lacerda playthroughs I haven't seen yet. Have another vote for a future Rococo Deluxe playthrough. One of my favorite games. The original was my gateway drug, after a whim saw me joining my friends for Spiel 2013, and picking it up there. Oh, the stories it could tell :D
There is one rule that always confuses me. At 44:04, couldn't Monique have presented her card and immediately passed? Wouldn't that have ended the meeting and prevented Naveen from scoring any more with his remaining speech bubbles? Or, is playing her card the actual turn without actually passing?
