    CORRECTIONS:
    13:49 - The voucher takes a part from the SUPPLY, not from a warehouse! I don't know why I thought this restriction existed, sorry for the confusion.
    50:26 - The voucher lets you take any part from the supply, NOT from its warehouse!
    53:01 - That line generates 1vp, not 2. They will take the correct amount once they get to it.

    Just a quick not the say that you are, by far, the most helpful gaming rules channel on YT. The way you mix teaching with gameplay is so helpful. I've been trying to learn this game for a month and nothing I've read or seen has been more useful than this video. Thanks very much, Jon.

    This is the best Kanban EV tutorial. This order (describing things as they come up) really works for this game.

    Like pretty much all Vital Lacerda games I find this just a _touch_ too overcomplicated for my tastes, but it's easy to see why it is generally well regarded. Great video as always.

    I am very impressed with the design of this game. The way it implements "private goals" (that sort of become public goals) is very clever. Also the way the player with first choice of actions is nonetheless blocked by later going players from where they were the previous round is a really interesting way to shake up the common turn order problem. In a sense everyone always has the same number of options - what a clever way to handle that.

    I appreciate this play though but goodness me, it was easier to get a degree in mechanical engineering and building my own car factory than it was learning how to play this.

    Amazing tutorial! I played this game earlier today and this video covers all the rules in a really logical sequence.
    Nitpick though: at 47:23, you mention the "other five" departments; this should of course be the "other four departments", there being five departments in total.

    I must say this is a unique take on the worker placement genre where you only have one 'worker' and it's a matter of how much you can make it do on a given turn.

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  3 года назад +2

      Agreed, I quite enjoy "single worker movement" type games like this. Others examples of good games with this would be The Gallerist and Beyond the Sun.

    At 53:00 you push a black car and say it gives you 2 VPs, shouldn't it be 1?

      @JonGetsGames  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for pointing that out, I did indeed say the incorrect number. They ended up taking the correct amount once they got to it. I've added a note about this to the subtitles and the pinned corrections comment.

    I wonder how many games you get stumped on Jon? and if you need to watch youtube as well? lol
    Do you have a strategy for learning new/tough games you can perhaps tell us about?
    Have you ever just given up on a game due to being too heavy / confusing manuals?

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  3 года назад +1

      I gave up once, way back at the start, when I tried to do a The Gallerist playthrough. I found a fatal mistake like 4 recorded hours in and gave up on the whole thing. In general I just read the rulebooks carefully, and if I am concerned I miss something than I often watch other videos (if they exist) to double check.

      @@JonGetsGames Ouch! that must have been frustrating Jon! But sounds like how i tackle all of Lacerda's games. Takes me a good 3 or so set-up and tear down, pack away, consider my life choices, then come back to them. So far CO2 and, unbelievably, Lisboa i have got worked out.
      Again, Thanks Jon for your hard work and effort.

    At 1:03:00, when you're revealing the cards for the next meeting, I was taught that they are shuffled first so as not to reveal who contributed which card. Was I taught wrong?

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  Год назад

      Huh, I think you are right about that.

    • @Hakucho64
      @Hakucho64 Год назад

      I watched a live stream of a game where the designer was watching, and he suggested they shuffle as well. Presumably this includes any non-player cards in a two or three player game.
      It's only going to matter in a game between high level players. Everyone else is usually too concerned with their own goals and strategies to worry about which goal another player might have chosen.

    I have the drivers edition of the game and I have a question about it for years now and I don't think I saw you talking about it, don't know if you can help. But if I go to the administration department, can I use a shift to advance in the certification track of another department? Or can you only use it for the main actions?

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  3 года назад +1

      I believe you can advance the certification of Administration or the department you've copied.

    • @michaelcarst6958
      @michaelcarst6958 3 года назад +1

      Yes, that is a correct play. the Administration allows you to do any action you could perform in that department which you choose. Only restriction is that if you use books, you can only use them to advance on the Administration certification track, not on any other departments you activated through administration.

    In Admin, not the training, but for shifts to be used in 1 other Department, what does the red 1 shift icon mean as seen above the list of department icons?

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  3 года назад

      It just means you spend one shift to perform that department action.

    • @andrewmeidl8424
      @andrewmeidl8424 3 года назад

      @@JonGetsGames So if I'm in Administration and I choose R&D as my 1 other department to do all my shifts in and I want to do the "Claim Cars" task from Administration, can I take the 4th car behind the pace car (which costs 3 shifts) if I was on the Admin +2 shift spot and choose to use 1 banked shift?
      Or am I limited to 1 shift at a time to use in that other chosen department because of the red 1 shift icon? (So I'd only be able to take the 1st car which costs 1 shift, and then do other tasks like Upgrade a Design and Training in R&D)

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  3 года назад

      Honestly, I don't remember the specifics of how that area works at this point since it's been a couple months. I'd suggest checking out the rulebook or asking in the Boardgamegeek.com forums.

    • @andrewmeidl8424
      @andrewmeidl8424 3 года назад

      @@JonGetsGames I checked BGG and was told Administration can spend shifts+banked shifts to grab any car in R&D just as if you had placed your worker in R&D. I was told you also ignore the "Spend 1 shift" icon that's shown on the board in administration. To me, it doesn't make sense that you ignore an icon on the board that explicitly indicates "Spend 1 shift." The rules do not cover this scenario in Admin and choosing R&D. The rules don't say you can ignore that shift cost icon either. The Solo rule book has the Important Game Icons section which does show that the red 1 shift icon means "Spend 1 Shift." Both the board and rules should be equally valid. I'm still unsure if their interpretation is correct and ignoring an icon designed on the board is right.
