I've got to stop! This is like the 8th time i've watched this vid, and I have known how to play the song for about 30 years now! I just love hearing Andy do it!
BEST guitar LESSON sound on RUclips, seen them all sen them all. How coem tha t guita r gives deeper sound that any other ive watched ... (im not a guitar player )
Andy I've learnt such much from your playing, Sharing your skills and knowledge to everyone is your life of learning and I have gained one more step to playing and sharing the sounds from the guitar.
And a riff alot of late 90s and early 2000s (bands influenced by post punk) guitarists know so it would be great for all the other guitarists out there.
Love Andy's lessons. So many styles and genres. Had to immediately try and play along with this. Even though I'm a complete hack, my wife said I sounded decent for once!...LOL! (thanks Andy!) ;)
+MuDfLapP Yeah! oooookay D!@k breath! LOL, then you're exactly the the type of player I want to jam with! Coming from a fellow "hack", I have to tell you, some of the best times I've had in a studio, bar, on a stage, local open jams, etc.. happened to be with other hacks! The guy I DON'T want to know is the one who proclaims his stellar skill set..
Andy, these guitar lessons that you've been posting are amazing. I've learned tonnes from you already, and are perfect for aspiring guitarists. No more tabs or shitty 'how-to-play...' youtube videos! You truly are a great teacher... Keep em coming! Kudos from Calgary, Alberta, Canada!
Great work on a great riff. I plan to watch this more and learn the riff in the coming weeks. Don't have the delay pedal featured in this video, but do have a Boss DD-3 Digital Delay. Will the DD-3 work also and if so what settings would anyone recommend? And it would be great to a lesson for the intro to "Sorrow" on here one day. Keep up the good work Andy. Cheers
I kinda agree I wish he would do it more as a talking it through. But this song definitely kicks ass. This is the perfect song to crank up and play if you are in an apartment and you have douchebag neighbors...
New tele you are using! Do you know something we don't Andy? Did gilmour record this with a tele? Or did you just find the tone with this one and prefer playing a tele. I like teles better than strats LOL for comfort anyways...
One of my all time favourite guitar tunes
The triads sound great, but what really makes this song work is that relentless, chugging D note riding under it all. Well done, Andy!
100%
Galloping
This might just be the most beautiful Telecaster I've ever seen

Terrific! Thanks a bunch for teaching this riff, which must be one of my all-time favorite tracks and THE example for creative use of delay.
Probably one of the most iconic beginning riffs of rock!
That is some awesome playing, just got me a tele and i cant stop playing this riff, thanks for showing it.
BEST guitar LESSON sound on RUclips, seen them all sen them all. How coem tha t guita r gives deeper sound that any other ive watched ... (im not a guitar player )
Drop D tuning.
Indeed. It's actually the trickiest part of playing it, keeping that D note going properly.
Andy I've learnt such much from your playing, Sharing your skills and knowledge to everyone is your life of learning and I have gained one more step to playing and sharing the sounds from the guitar.
Is there anything this guy can't play?
Awesome just awesome
I seriously doubt it. Not to mention he makes it look so effortless.
Phenomenal
Scary good. The Hagstrom Viking Baritone demo will make a believer out of anyone. The dude can go dark real quick.
Awesome riff and great sound. Absolutely nailed it.
Thank you for posting such a clear & concise lesson on this. Excellent!
Great lesson, many thanks!
Somehow I learn these so much faster from Andy than from any other source. He's a great teacher!
Andy, your playing is awesome!
And equally amazing is your ability to get any sound that you want out of effect pedals
Andy--
You rock!
One of my favorite tunes to play back in the day. Nice!
And also a beautiful way to start the lesson, just playing everything slow….love it 💪
Right on! I've got it now... Thank you!
what a simple and beautiful riff
A great breakdown of the intro riff, Thanks for sharing, its a BIG help. Greetings from Greece
And a riff alot of late 90s and early 2000s (bands influenced by post punk) guitarists know so it would be great for all the other guitarists out there.

Andy is a badass player.
That Tele...so shiny and wonderful!
Haven't always liked to use pedals, but this riff/song makes me want to play more!
Another great job on this PF tune. I'd love to know why there are so many dislikes on this. What's wrong with people.
eagle52 maybe from those who want but they dont know how to play guitar?
I haven’t disliked, but those triad chords.. I can’t see through his fingers to see what frets he’s hitting on each string.
Trying to figure it out.
Probably one of the sickest echo-riffs in history.
Great job as always Andy. THANKS
Oh ... I'd like to hear Andy do "How Soon Is Now?" as well.
freakin nailed that sweet gilmour tone
So awesome!
Sounds killer!
These videos may be the greatest idea a store ever had to promote stuff.
That was ace as always Andy.

Super Riff...played here perfectly......Nice!
Thanks for the lesson! Just got the Roland gp8 and nailed down the delay and chorus😃
I swear by LPs but this telecaster looks beautiful
I think this song would sound too crowded with humbuckers under it, especially with all the delay
Either LPs or teles. Is all u need for guitars 😉
Gilmour used a tele on this....and there is no substitute for a tele.
been waiting for this one!
...still needs that Electric Mistress swoosh.
You played this perfectly. Impressive.
Cara, você foi álem, 58% Baixo, 48% guitarra do Gilmour. Parábens!!!
Rocks like hell - thanks!
AWSOME NO MORE WORDS
Andy, could you please just play the entire song? Maybe have a lesson video with a music video?
That was fantastic!
Thank you for your lesson, I'm learning it
That Tele is a good sound for you Andy. Thanks for helping me with it.
That is a gorgeous Tele.
Beautiful Tele!
As always, it sounds great :)

Superb

I kinda agree I wish he would do it more as a talking it through. But this song definitely kicks ass. This is the perfect song to crank up and play if you are in an apartment and you have douchebag neighbors...

New tele you are using! Do you know something we don't Andy? Did gilmour record this with a tele? Or did you just find the tone with this one and prefer playing a tele. I like teles better than strats LOL for comfort anyways...

You better run!
Andy, can you play "The clansman" by Iron Maiden.
This is not an issue here but I am interested in the lovepedal tweed but I live in Turkey. Can you inform me about the shipping process? Thanx
That is not the MKII in the video, they show the MKI. but the text says it's the MKII.
We're is the speed nob set I can't see it on the picture of the delay
My fav
