- "Old Rose Motel" from Great White's 1992 album, "Psycho City."
Songwriters: Alan Niven, Michael Lardie
I see you bleed the feelings you close up
I know the pain that you hide
Oh, baby, please don't be no close out
Stay with me through the night, every night, baby
Needle street ain't no answer
Can't dream a heartache away
Let the need be your master
All of your dreams fade away
Everything you want
Everything you want
Anything you want
Anything you want
You can find it right here
Oh, no, don't go
Down to the midnight motel
Oh, no, don't go
Can't find no heaven in hell
There's a silence that comes in the morning
Leaves you screamin' at the wall
As you sit there in your easy chair
Chasin' demons at a crawl
Oh, no, don't go
Down to the midnight motel
Oh, no, so low
Down to the Old Rose Motel
Yeah yeah, yeah yeah
When you feel that you'll never find
Somewhere you'll be safe to lie
Just take a look over here, yeah
Together we'll rise in a mornin' glory
Anything you want
Anything you want
Everything you want
Everything you want
You can find it right here, yeah
Oh, no, don't go
Down to the midnight hotel
Oh, no, so low
Down to the Old Rose Motel
Rest in Peace 🙏 Jack Rusell . Amazing performance
Rock In Peace Jack. You will be missed.
Saw them many times ❤
This isn't a rock song. This is a blues rock song. Epic.
I'm 62 and still love listening to these guys. You want the definition of power ballad, it's Great White. Rock and Roll forever!!
racyrick1 in hi hi hi hi IP on my feet

@@johnleachjr5610 happy late rockin birthday well in 6 days I'll be 57 and still Rockin to these guys cheers
one of those bands where you don't find a song you don't like
Like the band Triumph
Awesome song these dudes are so under-rated its INSANE!!
Very underrated
These guys were amazing ❤️ still are
Very underrated, always wondered why they never made it as big as Bon Jovi. They came from the same era.
These guys kick ass, every aspect of this band is great to hear. How the f*ck can anyone listen to rap when there's shit like this out there? No Dr. Suess with a beat for me, rock n roll till death!!!
RAP IS FOR BROWN PEOPLE HAA HA
Born in '78, this was my real 80's rock band I probably listened to the most, as far as the less famous ones of Mötley Crüe, Guns 'n Roses, etc. Yes, those were already a given, but as far as the ones that were often opening act types, I'd say Great White was my personal favorite. Cinderella was another after hearing "Long Cold Winter" and then seeing "Moscow Peace Festival"s live version of "Nobody's Fool." Both had extremely talented guitarists, as Mark Kendall and Tom Keifer's (Cinderella's TRUE guitarist) whose talent was mainly recognized only in guitar magazines, those who play guitar, or those with an ear for good guitar work. Of course as far as the "80's music" goes, you can't really put a label on it; it was (arguably) where good rock finally quit being written, awesome one hit wonder songs were abundant, and bands from before were still kicking ass. Hell, I was an INXS fan too. IMO, 1991 produced many good albums from "Achtung Baby" to the Black Crowes. I don't care how bands dressed anyway; to me, I saved my money to buy an album to listen to it, not judge them from the photos. Besides, in the 80's, you were either mercilessly thrown into two categories anyway - "hairbands" or all the new New Wave pop groups. But, as mentioned before, 80's music is about the hardest decade to define. One of the better live shows I've ever seen (in 2002, before the comeback of 80's rock bands) was actually Tesla. While they were always an awesome band, they could have done so much better commercially if it weren't for the fact that idiots lumped them in with the rest of the "hairbands" despite that they were all jeans and t-shirts from their start. Again, I'm there to hear music anyway, not judge a band's attire.
BORN IN 58 STILL ROCKIN
Patrick Smith I rank great white right up there with motley crue, poison and cinderella. Maybe a little more talented than all. This song shows just how damn good they where. This is one of my favorite songs of all time. Just beautiful
Hell yes. Great White is extremely talented musicians. Mark Kendall is one of the best guitarists ever, as is Desbrow as a drummer. And who else could pull off a cover of Led Zeppelin's "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" like that? Nobody I've ever heard try.
This song you can listen to a million times without getting tired.
This cannot possibly be played loud enough. Track for track, this album kicks ass. The raw emotion and energy is amazing.
Crank this up so the neighbors can enjoy it too !
Yess! :D
Always 🤘🤘
Just did last night - 10:30PM - A dark campground. T'was great! No complaints.
@@retroelectro1190 isn't it wonderful when that happens
Jack's vocals and Kendall's guitar awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wish they were back together, thats rock&roll, end of story!!
Ooooo do not forget this when Michael Lardie came in. He brought so much to Great White
don't forget Audie on drums an amazing drummer and Michael on keys, guitars and just about everything else.. amazing musician and Dave the Beast Spitz on bass for this album..
Probably everyone who listen the album is agree with me that "Psycho City" is the most unheralded, underrated, unappreciated album ever. Nothing has changed last 19 years... still brilliantly masterpiece!
Yes
I met Jack and the rest of Great White back in 96 at Shots Bar and Grill in Tulsa Oklahoma
It was an awesome show minus the fact that it was cut short by noise complaints by the neighbors
Jack is one of the nicest coolest persons in the music business I’ve ever met
Met the guys from Slaughter once they were arrogant jerks
I wouldn't be surprised about the baby godfathered arrogant band.....
Jack s voice is so bluesy, so powerful ....so so good...
🫶😎💋🤟💥
Man Great White was one of those under rated amazingly talented bands of the 80's, but this album for me was their best and it came out in the early 90's and got buried due to the change in music styel (grunge). sad.. cause this album is still on my playlist... GW one of the best blues rock bands ever.
My air guitar is still in tune
Nice
There should be more bands like these guys !
This song gives me chills. beautiful.
I can give you those also.
This is music..not the shit they put out today!!!
Shit is corrcet!!!
Great white was amazing in concert!!!!
Exactly. Today cannot hear music
Corrcet it's what you're wearing....
Omg the shit now suxs there no more normal metal..... just death metal screamo....i do like( kill switch ingage)
Most underrated band in history!
I concur 100%
The most underrated band in history is Y&T
Yes I agree 1 of most underrated bands ever they were great they gave a show that you where greatful of.
Truley underrated, they were. Excellent bnd. Always enjoyable to see and
or listen to.
Bologna y € t good but not in great white level
I love this song....one of their best...loved this whole album, actually!
Death and dark coke days of the early 90's. I can't believe I made it thru!
I hear ya i was addicted to smack at the time
It takes me back to those fun but cruel days .....
@dagrollin people are stupid dude. GW is the most underrated band ever. talentwise they kill crue or any of those other 80's chumps.
Tell emmm!!!!!!!!!!
Потрясающая песня!!! Недели две не могу слезть с этого трека. Прекрасный вокал Рассела, приятные клавиши и талант Марка Кендалла.
Очень красиво исполнено! 👍
I love this F@ucking masterpiece of music. It comes out and smacks you in the mouth, slows down, then slowly builds back to the epic tidal wave of guitar heaven.
Haven't listen to them in years and now this past week I've played a lot of old favorite. 💋💋💋
Me too bro! Like they were on fire & shit ! ....
Me too. Just reconnecting with them tonight. Great (white) band!
I am listening to this kick ass song on a great pair of headphones and man what a great jam. takes me back to my teen age years.it is such a shame that rock bands don't make music like this any more. great white is a way underrated band but according to me I overrate them and put them at the top of my list right along with tesla and skid row who in my opinion are more than hair bands cause these guys are kick ass real rock and roll unlike those pussy ass fake hair bands.
Man there are some sweet chords in this. Awesome every time I listen to a Great White track I've never heard I love it instantly!!
this rock group plays the best music for snowboarding, surfing and anything you would do outdoors on our earth. don't think so try and put any one of their songs to a video it will make you more than happy, I know I have with my three sons and a whole bunch of good friends for the last ten years, check out 808 free style team from Hawaii. love this rock band again rock on
This song is awesome,I'm still listening to Great White since circa 1987.
Guitar and Vocals are so clear..
long time fan since the 80's.never get's old.these guys mastered rock! there is no better.awesome!
Love is a Lie
Great song. Saw them in concert too and was amazing
1992 flying down the back roads in my old mini 1000 with a fist full of great white , good times
Badass brings back memories bigtime, exhilerating and relaxing at the same time
First caught Great White supportin' Whitesnake in Belfast Slide it in tour 84' and i was hooked,a few times since, next weekend Jack Russell and his merry band are in Cambridge Ontario. So lookin' forward to hearin' that amazin' voice live again.
+bannsidereddie When? I love these guys. In Owen Sound now but used to live in Cambridge. Wait, I missed it. Where was it in Cambridge?
It was at the Cambridge Fair.
That's funny bannsidereddie! I saw them in Cambridge at the fall fair too! Took my girlfriend and also a buddy who had never been to a rock concert in his 43 years! I explained the tragedy to him as he hadn't heard about it and how sad it made the fans as we are like a little community of rockers. That evening, after the concert, he TOTALLY understood how it could have affected us and how we were all like a little tight nit group! Keep On Rockin!
I remember meeting Jack Russell behind the building with the marquee that said Great White was playing "Jaxx"we had done the biggest concrete pour for us ever for two guys he invited us in as his special guests always thought that was awesome not too mention Mrs. Granville
so under-rated band........ in .......europe....... but i cheer gladly them.
this album is awesome, maybe their best -my opinion!
A smooth driving haunting Jazzy mixture Who knows how far these guys could have gone with proper management guidance and sobriety
Someone once asked me what the best song is that i have ever seen performed live. In an instant i said " Old rose motel..." and i still stand by that. I can remember it like yesterday... i play this song so much, funny how a 4 inch plastic disc can give you goose bumps
R. I. P. Jack
Very underrated front man!
66 and still rocking with Great White. Rest in peace Jack, you were awesome along with the rest of the band. Saw them twice, once they opened for Judas Priest and it was a hell of a show and again with Ratt. Another hell of a show.
Regret never seeing this band, always my favorite. Friends didn't seem to get what I got, so I found new friends!!!
Me Too
I got to see them open up for the scorpions in jacksonville fl in the 1990s,got to see the two best bands in the world that night
Their best album was/still is Hooked
The final in this song is just something else. Shame there is so few bands out there that plays awesome guitar solos like Great White. Just love playing the ending of this song in my car with volume at max.
Great white has that awesome sound that brings back so many memories ... Skid row dosent even do that for me and there my all time fav
Anything you want
Everything you want
You can find it right here
i dont get how great white can is so damn good!?!?
yet not many people know of them
i think they deserve a massive re-release!
Love Great white, amazing rock n roll blues band. Saw them live in the late 80's at rock n roll heaven in T.O right up front. They sounded the same live. Too bad they don't make music like this anymore. Long live Rock n Roll
Totally music ! Not the shit they play today!!!
A very very under rated band. One of the best 80s bands
Came here from Danny waysted's blues Mashup. Was a huge early GW fan but missed this album somehow. Good tune. 🤘
love this song it rocks your ass off win i hear it on the radio trun it up in rock out
If you do not love great white you know nothing about music all bow to the gods of blues rock.
I just discovered this album in 2019. Wow. Great track.
i saw them perform this in94 in charlotte nc . fell in love with this song. i still have the tshirt. this song kicks ass. no voice like jack russell
Who the FUCK thumb downs this?
Matthew Stahn Idiots ... that is who .. Idiots!!
For real this is pure bad ass
Your 13 children?
+Glenn Canale oh, how smarty mack! you are an idiot.
a real stupid sorry excuse for a human to throw a thumb down no doubt 😁
Rick, I'm with you, great band, just like Telsa & Def Leppard, they all stand the test of time !
what a great tune, these guys come up with some great songs, not repetitive
can't believe how "hard rock" bands like aerosmith with too much rythm and not enough blues were always way more popular than this :/
much love to great white!
I don't care for Aerosmith. This song though is GREAT!
@@thewhatorwhy Aerosmith in their heydey were innovators. But I agree GW is fantastic, and they are even better live
lots of deep forest camp trips with great white! great memories!
in my opinion, their best album.
2nd best after "Out Of The Night."
yes it is
This is definitely one of Randy the Ram's favorites
Fantastic Rockers !
one of the most under rated bands of all time, kick ass song writing, kick ass singer and top musicians.. i seen them in a place called CLub Oasis in Naples Florida the stage was only like 2 feet tall and you could reach out AND STRUM THERE GUITAR ,, NOT THAT YOU WOULD,, BUT THATS HOW CLOSE THEY WERE,, THAT WAS ALL THE ORIGIONAL GUYS stupid caps,, sorry not retyping this.. anyways,,, alot of good memories from this band, thank you Great White,I love your exsistance
fantastic band all I can say
2020. Loved the band since I discovered the album hooked 23 years ago when I was 15
Great White in their right element heavy blues and "Robert Plant´ish" vocals - oh yeah!
One of the most underrated bands in history.
CLEARCHANNEL, i wanna hear ,you shook me allnight long, FOR THE 1000TH TIME IN MY LIFE!!! pretend you never heard anything with, soul, emotion, and great artistry. thank god for sirius!! ROCK ON GREAT WHITE. PLEASE COME TO PITTSBURGH PA!!!
🤘🏻❤
At 66 I still think this is one of the best rock bands ever! Just keep giving us this good shit😎
Yep
great song !!
One of my FAV stripdancin songs 🎵
sail away!!!!! the best!!!
Best song ever!!!!!!!
Kinda wonder if the title's some sort of slam of GNR and Axl Rose in particular, Great tune, regardless,
Actually, read the lyrics...looks like its about drug addiction...heroin most likely. Although considering what a tool Axl Rose is and how seriously GNR was into the hard s***, I still would be willing to bet that this is no arbitrary title. Just a thought..or two.
I miss you ! Thanks for Ventura, our backyard ,we'll hang out again up on that big o"l stage up there when it's my turn . Until then , be happy and at piece my brother .❤
I wish I could go back..
Great band greater song listen with open ears you will learn what your teacher was doing her best to get across to you.(Frank 5/6/1953)
great white. kicks. ducking ass
Dark haunting Blues ballad... Sounds like "Night Prowler" but much more powerful !
This song is a stiff drink, a burning cigarette under a dimly lit neon beer sign. This song is a smokey bar with a pool table and a raspy voice old female bartender. This song is a guy drinking the pain of his divorce away. This song is the darkness of the streets.
@purerock1055 guitar kinda sounds a little like slash.is it me, or does anyone hear it too?
The best song IMO from an amazing band
Awesome lyrics, one of the best,if not the best Rock Bands of the 1980s
Most underrated song they wrote! Fucking awesome!
One of my favourite
Just a great tune!
Forgot I left that....10 months later, still great!
Great white is Top shelf Gold, I'm 30 years old but when I was a boy my Dad put the Sherwin Vegas through hell with hair bands. I am so thankful to have an ear for real music. Pass it on to your Son's ,no matter what, start em young!
dam good jam win rolling down the highway in my charger hellcat rock on. greatwhite

apparently this song is about Axl Rose(as Alan Niven managed both them and Great White) and Niven's growing annoyance with having to deal with his mood swings.
Heard this song was written about Axl Rose(as Niven also managed Guns n Roses).
Mr. Jack "Robert Anthony Plant" Russel 🎼🎶🎤👊💪😎
Got a sign that isn't that my motel......
the best great white albums are psycho city and can`t get there!
Anything you want! This jam will never get old
Fucken hell .2019 still fucken rocking baby 🤘🤘🤘
I'm back again!! 2020 has been nuts. Gotta escape this shit LoL 😂
