RIP Princess Rhaenys. The most intelligent, compassionate, insightful and brave of all of the Targaryans. The Queen that should have been. 😢

Cole is a Great War Knight, there’s a reason why even Jamie praises him as one of the best Kingsguard, but also definitely has his flaws etched in history. He did win multiple battles before Rooks Rest, and his plan to ambush team black by forcing their hand to send a Dragon was brilliant. Aegons rash decision of sending himself to war (which Larys tried hard to stop in episode 3) was because of Alicent being fed up and literally saying the worst thing at that moment to her son.

You can hate Criston Cole all you want and rightly so BUT he's proven himself extremely capable outside of Kings Landing. His war campaign stands as a shadow behind the entire episode - tripling the size of his army, taking down multiple castles, improvising a great speech upon Aegon's arrival which emboldened the men to take Rook's Rest, using Team Black levies on the frontlines as cannon fodder AND setting a good trap which took down a powerful dragon + an experienced rider.
There are different shades and qualities to GRRM's characters - and I think this side of Cole's character, as a military commander and strategist, deserves recognition. Just look at his face when he discovers Aegon's body - it seems he was more of a father figure to Aegon and Aemond than Viserys ever was, dude was horrified seeing his King probably on the verge of death.

RIP to Princess Rhaenys Targaryen the Queen Who Never Was. One of the best characters for me. She always reminded me of Lady Olenna a little bit because she always spoke the truth, like her. She really should’ve been Queen. At least her and Meleys went out like queens in truth.
Why couldn’t Criston die as well. It should’ve been him burned. I give props to Fabien(Cole’s actor)for playing such a hated character. Remember to hate the character, but not the actor.
Personally, starting from episode 2 of this season, I’ve always felt some pity for Aegon for how he was raised, but at the same time, he’s also done terrible things in his life as well. And if he was a better brother to his siblings, then he probably would’ve been loved by them at the very least.
Just so you know since you were talking about this GOT character in your review, the younger brother of Joffrey is named Tommen, the kind one who was King for a while.
Another great reaction. Keep up the great work.

Alicent has one more son, Daemon, that we haven't met yet. He's Jace's age, but we didn't meet him in season 1 because by the time the ten year time jump hit he was serving as a squire in Oldtowne so he wasn't around for all the juicy goings-on in King's Landing.

Also why am i feeling for Aegon??? He really is the result of Otto's and Alicent's ways, they made him into what he is, but he never wanted the throne, i genuinely feel like he's been trying to be a good king by the way he treated with the common folk asking for coin and just aid from the crown, but everything is so clearly above him at this point and it resulted in him trying to prove himself (and his mom) that he is worthy of the crown which resulted in Rhaenys running him and Aemond trying to kill him twice (not that i blame him)

Cole needs to S U F F E R. Not even gonna give him the courtesy of his full name or title, because he is genuinely a great contender for the worst character in both series. And that's saying something.

@@aylinpatacsil846 Really? Of all the characters you wanna play defense for, you pick this dude? A highly hypocritical, narcissistic, *moronic* misogynist who gaslights and victimizes everyone else around him in order to project his flaws onto others rather than actually learn any sort of lesson? This is the dude you want to bat for?
By all means, play apologetics for the dude who made twin brothers kill one another all because *he* was too busy finger-blasting Allicent to do his fucking job.

I know you’ve mentioned it in a previous reaction episode, but it’s important to distinguish Fabian Frankel from Criston Cole. Crazy how he’s getting Joffrey or Ramsay level vitriol when his character is no where near that level of evil.

I know, he's not even cruel or a coward. I think there's unspoken sexism involved here. Plus an inherent hatred of 'pretty privilege'. Goodlooking Chad walks around getting promoted being conceited and haughty while calling 'OUR heroine' a whore. He's obviously an experiment to see if they can manufacture a new kind of villain and see how gullible the demographics are.

Aaron's presence on the battlefield wasn't Cole or Aemond's fault. It was the king's for being stupid enough to allow his ego to get the best of him Cole was not on the battlefield to serve as Aegon's Hand. He was there to serve as the leader of an army. His plan almost failed due to Aegon's stupid decision to join the battle. I realize that you dislike him. I don't like him. But some of your accusations against Cole just don't make any sense to me..
Rhaenys couldn't leave the field. She was there to protect the Black Team's forces. If she had fled from the battle before it was over, it would not have looked good for Team Black.

Would we still hate Cole if he were a female knight, who fell in love with 'Prince Rhaenor' and got rejected and now calls him a whore? Would we still hate her, Ser Cristina Cole who is undyingly loyal to the Throne, who occasionally sleeps with 'King Alistair', even if she is a good warrior, and made _actual good battle tactics?_ I have a feeling this hate towards this 'pretty privileged' fictional character is a bit... sexist.
