- Olivia Troye, a longtime civil servant across various government agencies and administrations, first saw Project 2025’s drafted ‘Schedule F’ plan to purge government of nonpartisan experts in favor of political loyalists back in 2020 while working in the Trump Administration.
Project 2025 isn’t just about the ultra-conservative policies that Donald Trump and his allies are preparing for a possible second term in office. It’s also about how they’re going to implement those policies. A goal is to rid the government of the “Deep State” and a former Trump executive order called “Schedule F” would play a huge role. Troye joins Ali Velshi to clarify the dangers of Project 2025 and Schedule F for the United States government and the ways they could affect American life.

I don't doubt what she's saying about withholding aid during Covid but I would love to see evidence of that and a follow up investigation. If true, it seems like that would be illegal. It would at very least be important to let everyone know.

As states sought federal support to combat coronavirus in recent days, President Donald Trump teased withholding aid to cities that limit cooperation between local law enforcement and federal immigration authorities, resorting to one of his long-standing immigration issues in the throes of the pandemic.
“I don’t think you should have sanctuary cities if they get that kind of aid. If you’re going to get aid to the cities and states for the kind of numbers you’re talking about, billions of dollars, I don’t think you should have sanctuary cities,” Trump said Wednesday, referring to jurisdictions that in some ways do not cooperate with federal immigration authorities.
When asked explicitly if he will prevent aid from going to so-called sanctuary jurisdictions, Trump said, “We shouldn’t have to pay anything anyway, because all they do is make it very hard for law enforcement.” He later added that it is a subject that will be discussed.

We need to write laws to limit or eliminate political appointments in the bureaucracy so this can't happen anytime in the future.
The laws and uses are there already, that's why with each change of administration only the political posts are filled by political appointees (like the cabinet). What Trump wants is to change what has always being done.
@@MariaMartinez-researcher If I remember correctly, Chet Arthur changed the bureaucracy to begin being staffed based on competitive exams because President Garfield was assassinated by a man who didn't get a federal job he wanted. The positions that remained for political appointees was called the plum list, and it generally got smaller with each administration. Up until that point, I think all the federal jobs were appointed. It was called the spoils system and aside from that assassination it was just all around corrupt. Jobs were all given out as political favors. Of course the country was smaller and the government did fewer tasks back then, but the system changed because it had to. Anyway, yeah, Trump isn't basing his plans on going back to the past. He wants a dictatorship.

Project 2025's series of proposed policy changes will reduce access to various social welfare programs and services in the United States. Changes include cutting Medicaid, food stamps, and free school meals, ending Head Start, restricting housing, and limiting abortion and LGBTQ+ rights. This would greatly impact low-income Americans.
