Dear dr Vogel you are really a wonderful person. Nobody explain better than you about this problem. I suffered a lot with this UTI. After taking antibiotics and probiotics and oestrogen therapy sort of getting better now. I am67 now. I listen to your speeches.very useful for people like us.
My dear ...do yourself a favour and get rid of the under wear... I swear by it....never experience one ever since I stopped wearing them....worth a try,...👌
@@bellzo7451 I've read a lot recently online, about your "no underwear" theory. Conclusion: EPIC FAIL Why? Because a lot of women, especially menopausal women, will have either slight, moderate, or full-blown incontinence. So at that point, you're dealing with urine on your trousers in the crotch area. The fabric holds the urine, and then bacteria forms which then causes UTI's. If you wear shorts or yoga pants, same thing. Anything with a crotch in it. The only thing you could possibly get away with, would be dresses or skirts BUT the urine will then get on the skirt or dress when you're sitting down (you pull your skirt or dress under you as you're sitting down, right?). The vote online for the "no underwear" theory was NO GOOD, EPIC FAIL. If nothing else, urine will cause a lot of fabrics to turn yellow, brown, brown-red, or white. Now I know why I've seen "colored crotches" on pants when women sit down. They're not wearing underwear, and the urine has permanently stained the fabric. That is beyond disgusting.
Boric acid is a gr8 tip, you can purchase gelatin capsules from health store and boric acid from pharmacy both affordable and effective to restore lady garden PH
I am in menopause now for about 3 years and ever since I have recurring UTI’s every 2 to 3 months. Previous to menopause I barely had any! I just ordered a natural bio identical estrogen that is 5.0 I wondered if you had any knowledge of this could be helpful to prevent the awful recurring UTIs? I keep getting put on antibiotics and the Uti is now becoming resistant to the antibiotics! Thank you so much 🙏🙏
Unfortunately, it is difficult to say if this would be helpful or not as it does depend on what is causing the repeat infections now. Repeat antibiotics can make re-occurring infections more likely so you may find treating it with a vagina probiotic and a bladder treatment such as Cranberry more effective. Best Wishes Eileen
Hi Samantha Optibac is a UK company so not sure if they are available in the USA but all you need to do is ask for a vaginal probiotic at your local health store and they should have some. Best Wishes Eileen
Great thanks.I’ve been on antibiotics for almost 4 months put on them by the urologist. I’m 54 asked him if it could be the menopause he said he wasn’t interested in discussing it! Terrible. A man obviously
I’m having the same problem right now. But now my feet and legs are swelling. I’m 52 post menopausal and for the last year it’s one infection back to back with about a week intervals of no infection. I keep telling my doctor that all my symptoms disappear while in antibiotics then when finished they all come back. I was at the point of thinking maybe I don’t keep myself clean enough. So I bought wet disposable cloths to use after using the bathroom. Still getting infection over and over. I was in so much pain and the ER did nothing my doctor did nothing until I had urine that was brown. That scared the hell out of me. So doctor ordered test and gave antibiotics the feet and leg swelling went down the pain trying to urinate went away I had a nice steady flow with no pain and problems starting to pee and then it started coming back as I neared the end of antibiotics. She only gives me 5 days of them. One time she gave me one pill a day of cipro for 3 days. It had no affect. I begged for a second round of antibiotics this time and it was great. I thought I finally got rid of it. All swelling went down I was back to normal and a week later I was back to the infection again! I drink lots of water especially after I saw my urine so dark. I thought I was in kidney failure. The antibiotics cleared it up. What you’re explaining makes sense. This doctor has told me I have lymphedema and now I have a positive D-Dimer and he’s saying the swelling is a DVT. I don’t think it is. I researched it and it said a positive D-Dimer can be from infection or inflammation. Well I know I have a bladder infection again, I can feel it and my legs are swollen with my feet so there’s the inflammation. What do I do now? I need the infection gone and to stay gone. I’m exhausted from it and my feet hurt. I’m afraid to ask for a refill on my bio identical hormones bc he’ll say I’m at risk of blood clot so no. I know I need the estrogen bad. What I read from a urologist is a complicated bladder infection needs about 6 months of antibiotics to get rid of it. But the doctors afraid I’ll become antibiotics resistance which I understand. There’s only one antibiotic that works for me and that bactrim. Cipro and Cephlex do not work and she only prescribes at most 5 days of them. I need 5 days to start seeing results & then I’m out of antibiotics and back to a worse infection. HELP!
@@falloutman565 so sorry to hear all this. Terrible state of affairs that’s for sure. I’m still on the antibiotics now been on them since Christmas. No one cares especially men. I’m now waiting to see a menopause specialist she has a waiting list of 3 months.

Hi Allynn Migraines are common in the menopause and often caused by fluctuating oestrogen levels affecting the blood vessels, leading to spasming which then triggers a migraine. Stress and dehydration can also be contributory factors, so make sure that you are drinking plenty of plain water every day. Tea, coffee, and fizzy drinks don't count and are best avoided in the menopause anyway (they can trigger hot flushes in some women). In the meantime, you may find a high strength magnesium supplement helpful. It is thought that this may reduce the likelihood of migraines, and it is also good for mood, relaxation and sleep. Acupuncture can also be beneficial so worth looking into.
