The best sports movie. So underrated. So forgotten.

This is the movie that began Alex Karras' movie career. Finally made the Pro Football HoF (about time).

it might have been the gambling suspension that prevented him from getting in earlier, but Paul Hornung got in decades before.

For anybody who doesn't recognize it, they're playing in Busch Stadium I. The Cardinals played in St.Louis and Chicago before moving out to Phoenix, AZ. You see HoF players Roger Brown #88 (TE) and Alex Karras #71 (DT) For the Cardinals Jackie Smith #81 (TE) who's notorious among Cowboys fans for the one pass he didn't catch.

Catching that touchdown pass for Detroit was John Henderson (87), who would later be a starting wide receiver on Minnesota's first Super Bowl team, in 1969.

“Young rookie quarterback Jim Hart” would stick as the Cardinals starter until the mid-80s. Pretty impressive longevity.

Great movie! @4:34 the stick’em. We used an aerosol stick’em in little league football back in the 70s.

The movie's story is actually better than the book. In that account, the Lion players knew well ahead of time what Plimpton was doing.

And for the 30th year in a row before opening day I'm watching this movie. By the way anybody notice what the camera caught at 1:20?

This movie is better than today's NFL.

Now. Compare that locker room scene (1970) to today's NFL locker room: ruclips.net/video/vVY5ix82gM8/видео.html
