Great review! Disney struggles with their Height channel again 😢. I wonder if they have sound engineers who are resistant to the newer sound formats (Atmos, DTS:X) and so they don’t fully utilize all those formats have to offer.
Thanks! Yea it’s a huge head scratcher. I’ve also heard a lot of these mixers and sound engineers only get like a week to work on the home release. If that’s true that’s a travesty. They need to hire some peeps from Godzilla Minus One! 😁
Disney to begin with, was not that big on physical media, their back catalog with great movies were likely not going to see any remastering and given the 4K love or a Dolby Atmos audio. That’s a shame. With this mind set and attitude that streaming is the way of the future now is faulty. It’s not ready just yet. The video and audio on a steaming service is not able to play back the data that’s on a disc, therefore the experience will be less than. Maybe in the future bandwidth and data streams might be able to be more competitive, but for now I’m buying and owning my physical discs and if the service is stopped or goes away I’ll still have my movies to watch. This attitude is why Disney is in such dire straits and has been widely panned in their decision making in regard to making high quality 4K discs, it’s a bad work culture in that house. I won’t sub to their channel ever. Do people like engineers want to work there producing lackluster movies ?? Probably not and will go where their talents are truly appreciated.
Great review! I purchased this on iTunes and have since canceled my physical disc order. I'm disappointed in the general lack of height channel info and some other audio design choices. I love the earlier recent Apes films and found this one not as good as those.
Thanks for the review. Seems worthy of the money for some demo material. Maybe not a great movie for theatrical purposes. I often come away disappointed with the Atmos mix on films. I still think Gravity and a Quiet Place are the best Atmos mixes. What other movies do people find to be very good for that too?
Shane Lee had similar thoughts on the audio/video. I also love this franchise. Haven’t seen this one yet, so how does it rank for you against the first 3? Disney p***es me off with their weak audio. I’m wondering if I should cancel my steelbook preorder. If the movie is good, I guess I can put up with a sub par audio mix.
@wendellwendellb339 oh you mean out of theater? I wad going to do one but ended up not being able to. Plus nobody watches them lol I might stick to doing them for the big big budget movies
It looks like the blu ray only has that special motion capture version? The theatrical version ISN'T on the blu ray? Did anyone check?
I was under the impression it included both

Not for Atmos, but I did get Bruce Lee - Enter the Dragon!! First $11.00 on prime day 🥋 🐉 🌊 nostalgic 💯🍿🎥
Noice! I love Bruce Lee movies

Thanks! I agree…still an enjoyable movie but not as good and the audio is lackluster in the height channels
@hatoraidcowboy have you seen Warm Bodies? That is a film with a surprisingly good Atmos mix.
Never seen it!
@@hatoraidcowboy I highly recommend it. Fun twist on rom coms and zombie films.

Godzilla Minus One, Dune movies, Godzilla vs Kong, Assassin’s Creed are a few
The new Twister 4K release is amazing!
@TravionMusic I’ll have a video out on it soon!
I just watched it. It was good but not great for me. I thought the Atmos mix was a bit light here too. Perhaps it’s just me
Twister?

I’d say Kingdom is 4 out of 4 out of the entire franchise. Def the weakest link. But still enjoyable
TOP MERCI COOL
Disappointing about the Atmos. Still will pick it up.
Didn’t you go see Twisters? What up?
Yea I did.
@@hatoraidcowboy When is the review, especially about the audio?

@@hatoraidcowboy I watch reviews from a few, you being one of them!
@@hatoraidcowboy Twisters isn’t a big budget movie? I think you are doing your subscribers a disservice.
