  • The shadow war dlc of batman arkham knight was so close to being the perfect dlc blending the overall struggle of batman during the main game and continuing the story of Ra's Al Ghul. A great dlc with a missed opportunity that could have made it infinitely better.

Mayhaps something to do with riddler and his gradual degeneration over the series?

One of the hardest decisions I've had to make in a game, but it's solely because I'm playing as Batman.
The correct choice is pretty easy, let him die; but is that what Batman would do? Props to Rocksteady for that.
I went with letting him die, but that "proud of you" line, left me questioning if it was the right decision for Batman.

For me I always choose "Let Ra's Die" choice. In an earlier Batman story, Batman would've saved Ra's but when I play Arkham Knight I feel like this is a Batman who is at the end of his rope and dealing with the constant consequences of letting many of his villains go. One of my main gripes with the Batman Arkham Games is that it shows Batman saving his villains from death. Now I'm not saying he should downright kill them, I feel like he could've let the villains die from their own mistakes. Similair to what the version of Batman Begins did where he says "I won't kill you, but I don't have to save you".

I agree with his story arc ending. I picked the bad ending where he lived and killed Nessa. I felt bad ever since 😭💞

I usually choose to let Ra's die because in my eyes i don't see it as killing him, he has already died several times over and in his state is more like a Zombie.

I don't see letting him pass away as killing, rather IMO, I see it as moral and compassionate option. Ra's has lived far longer than anybody else and his body and mind cannot take it anymore. Giving him the cure prolongs his artificial life for a bit, but it destroys his mind more and more, and imo seems cruel.
I've seen people argue that the Arkham Batman would never let Ra's die because he always tries to save others, even those like the Joker, and they use the ending of City to illustrate it. But I don't think it is a fully comparable situation. Joker was dying, but it was due to a disease, curing him would make him healthy again. The Pit doesn't make Ra's healthy. He's always in a state of dying, and the longer he lives, the more often he needs the pit, and the more the pit gnaws at his sanity. This makes it less clear that he is truly "alive", rather he is more akin to a zombie, especially by Knight. This does make me wonder what he would do if a villain had some sort of natural disease that could be treated. Would Batman go out of his way to save them, or would he treat them like everybody else who has these diseases. Bruce is of course a very charitable person, but I can't imagine he would prioritize the villain over anybody else. He probably would try to help fund programs that give treatment to those that need it, but this would be a general thing.
IMO the choice is a false one. The argument that Batman destroying the cure = killing ignores that just minutes prior, Batman destroyed another lazarus pit. He does it because he knows that the pit needs to be kept out of the wrong hands, but if letting somebody die of old age instead of giving them water from the pit equals killing them, then he would be killing a lot of people. There is a line of thinking in the "destroy the cure" side that I think could get out of hand. I see a lot of people quote the Nolanverse Batman saying "I won't kill you, but I don't have to save you." IMO, this is wildly out of character. The danger with the line is that Batman could just get rid of criminals by not saving them. A Nolanverse Batman would probably have let the Joker die. Arkhamverse Batman is different so I think going with a choice he would pick would avoid that kind of thought. Rather than Batman destroying the cure "because he doesn't have to save Ra's". IMO, destroying the cure IS saving Ra's from the poison that has been eating away at him for hundreds of years.

Batman being willing to die with joker made no sense to me, Batman is the only active hero (besides robin, night wing and such), he’s basically condemning Gotham when he says he’s willing to die with joker

I always chose to save him and let Nyssa die because it technically stays in line with Bats moral code then again I do feel bad for doing it because of Nyssa's death

Letting Ra's die is the right thing! The League will leave Gotham alone and a major threat will be gone forever! If he did live all of Batman allies wouldn't stand much of a chance. I'm sure none them of have fought Ra's one on one!
