Absolutely agree just a month ago bought everything KYB struts, shocks, strut mounts and just like you said the struts are very good but strut mounts made in India in my case, were total waste of money. Now I will buy OEM. Thanks.
I lost totol control and ran off the road when my driver side strut mount gave out It was a very scary situation. I didnt have the money for honda oem part so i went with O'riellys Lets see how long it will last
I’m trying to replace the mounts to my 03 civic. My Honda dealer still had OEM mounts in stock, thank you for this video. I can rest assured the mounts will last forever I almost made the mistake of buying kybs
I have experience bought strut mount online from Shopee, the strut mount look everything is good but when put tyre on ground and strut mount can see very big gap (6 to 7mm), I feedback to the seller and they claim new for me. But the new strut mount also face same problem. I totally give up on KYB product.
Thanks for your video. I'm not a RUclipsr but it would be helpful to list the OEM part number or to hold the sticker still near the camera so we can see it. Thanks for your hard work though.
I installed kyb quick struts 2 months ago and the mounts make banging noises on every little bump. Total garbage , now have to spring for oem mounts and then another alignment. Does anyone know if I could use the kyb bearing on the oe mount or will that be setting me up for more disappointment?
Had my original struts replaced in 2019 with 140,000 miles on my 2003 Element. I used KYB, but not sure if the installer kept the OEM bearing or used something else. My daughter had the original struts on her 2003 CRV replaced this weekend at 200,000 miles (this CRV had mostly highway and road miles, mine Element gets lots of gravel and dirt roads) and she also used KYB, but I'm not sure about the bearings there either. I will look on both cars and see.
Thank you very much for this video. I have a 2008 Element SC, i tried to replace the bearing of the strut, but i noticed that is different of the others models of Element. I don't find in anyplace the bearing. Do you think I need to change the entire assembly of the SC for an assembly from a regular Honda Element?
Love the videos! I have a 07 SC 107k miles. I believe my front struts ( barings ) are making a noise when turning, and on the road, my struts seem fine. I can't find any good aftermarket struts. Should I just replace the barings and strut mount? Of oem everything?
Anyone know a good shop on the west coast of oregon to look at a suspension noise. I've done sway bar bushings, sway bar end links, tie rod ends, lower A arms and new ball joints. Still have the squeak when its cold out and the front end goes over a bump or flexes.
Thanks Miguel. Honda told me that I needed new struts for the front. However I haven’t had the opportunity to inspect them myself. They are the originals that came with my 2004 Element that I bought new. Thanks for the tip. When I last checked them they were not leaking. Do you know anyone that’s using Bilstein up front?
What should the stock height be from ground to the top of the fender opening across the wherl hub at each corner with no occupants but full tank of gas, spare tire and all seats installed, stock rims and tires and suspension? Honda doesn't have that spec. I think my rear springs are sagging. Thanks.
Thank you so much for making this ! It’s gonna help tons to a lot of the community

Thanks for sharing your experience
Kyb is the manufacturer of the oem element struts
I lost totol control

It was a very scary situation.

Very helpful, thank you! I'll go with the KYB Struts and the OEM mounts
I swear from personal experience, kyb products do not hold for more than 4-5 months, I am so surprised with some positive reviews made by people

Glad the video helped 😎👍

Have you ever pulled an OEM one after 9 months? You will find the same cracks... the KYB is actually a good OE quality part.
Actually I did and they still hold good. I personally don’t like kyb strut mounts (own experience) kyb struts are good tho.
@@Element_lifestyle Gotcha, thanks for the response and the great video!

I LITERALLY NEED TO BUY THESE TODAY!

I also don’t recommend the kyb quick struts. I only recommend the struts it self and pair it with OEM mounts and reuse everything also
Did you ever figure this out?

I put kyb struts on my 13 Honda accord two years ago. The front drivers mount are shot. Front inner tire is balding. Go with OEM. KYB are $hit!

KYB used to be made in Japan
Is there such a thing as a polyurethane strut mount for the Honda element?

Just strut mount
Guys there is a Problem going on with The KYB Strut Mounts... i Replaced the whole front end suspension. & the mounts are makimg noises
perfect timing as usual! getting them put on this week
OEM way to go , I learned the hard way 💸💸
Mevotech brand is better than what you are showing.

I can recommend Nick he is a honda Tech for 16 years
Anywhere is better than Schwab's... they can't diagnose anything correctly. Used them in Florence.
Good to know. Thx👍😁
😎👍
Off the subject how much is the tire bracket holder on your element with the fold down tray I think that's really cool
Thank you ,$550
Where's the video link
I guess that's the difference between $50 and $170 strut mounts
KYB Strut mounts are notorious for premature failure.
I learned the hard way 💸💸💸💸
Is that for the strut mount? Im planning on buying kyb shocks struts for my crv are their struts good?
@@cream648shocks and struts from KYB are fine.
The strut top mount. Get oem instead
Yes 🙂👍
@@Element_lifestyle How are ur shocks and struts? Was a bit firmer than oem?

I think for the milage you should replace it and also the strut mount. Do it once do it right 😎👍🍻
@@Element_lifestyle yeah so when are coming to NYC to do the work 😃

Senor Lima! I was curious about the price differences between the three items
The OEM cost around $48 from honda online. Kyb or autozone around $25 each.
@@Element_lifestyle so not a significant difference in price..especially when compared with Honda quality
@@Nscalemike56 yeah , I will go OEM on those parts from now on
@@Element_lifestyle were are the links for the oem ones ?
