Icky Mettle= most underrated indie album next to Jawboxs 'For Your Own Special Sweetheart' and Superchunks 'Foolish'. Pretty sure all three are from 93 and 94.
I couldn't agree more. I would add Built to Spill - 'Ultimate Alternative Wavers' and Modest Mouse - 'This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About'
One of my favorite albums, but wouldn’t necessarily call it underrated. It’s widely considered a classic hallmark of Nineties (NC) indie rock. I would say underrated classic examples are Small (23)’s “Silver Gleaming Death Machine”, Rock*A*Teens “Cry”, etc.

There's a page of your face from the xerox machine. Gray matter, bending, blending. Makes me sleepy when you can't define How far you're trailing behind. You're always sedated. You're simplified. Picking off the scabs From the skin of your lies. And nobody's counting, cause everybody's fine.
I first heard these guys in 93' when I was 12. I've loved them ever since. Top 3 indie band besides Superchunk and Jawbox... The Meices, At the Drive-In, and The Raymond Brake kick ass... oh and Shiner and The Life and Times too... ahhhh so many great bands.
