I remember when watching this for the first time when it came out, I thought he was gonna get free before he took the mask off, I was 100% surprised that they did this.
I find it heartwarming when the adults realize he's just a kid, and Doc-Ock tries to take Peter. even though they know he's Spiderman, they still try to protect him.
I can just picture The Ancient One saying "Harry Osborne, taking that mask off will bring you only sorrow."
